Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hey guys,
i am seriously considering the 2017 NS. Had a few queries
How is the bike for casual touring purposes?
Is rider comfort fine for long distances? (i am 6 '1)
How is the pillion rider comfort?
Is it worth to buy the NS now? 'or' would you go for it again, given a choice?

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Lost rider ... 2017 ns200 is gud for 200-400 km single run it has an upright position which makes it comfortable as a street fighter it is built for city purposes still it performs gud on highways thanks to liquid cooled engine seat are soft but not as RE. Got refined and most powerful engine if you are not willing to go more then 1.10 lakhs ...ride safe

Test bikes will have a lot of vibes, and vibes will be present till the initial run-in process is completed.Originally posted by nsp92 View PostTook a test ride of the NS200 2017 edition. Overall felt good, but I could make out some serious vibrations by the time the bike reaches 40-50kmph. Is this common?
Note: I was riding pillion behind my friend during the test drive.
But why didn't you do the riding if you are planning to buy it? The pillion seat vibrates much more than the rider seat.
FYI : Most of the previous NS/AS have a bit of buzz vibrations (not like REs but there are some vibes) in between 4.5k to 6k rpm, the vibrations fade beyond 6k RPM.
1. Performs really well. Great handling, good brakes, powerful enough to cruise at 100-110kmph and good high end torque for overtaking on highways at high speed.Originally posted by LostRider View PostHey guys,

2. Depends on the rider, most find it comfortable. I find it extremely comfortable.
3. Pathetic. Well that my personal opinion when I sat as a pillion on my bike while my friend was riding it. One of the worst 30 mins of my life. Reason could also be that I am not used to sitting as a pillion. But the seat's really hard. You may want to get it modified if you are planning to take a pillion on long rides.
4. Only you can answer whether its "Worth to buy the NS". If you can spend more then you can go for CBR 250 / Duke 200 / 390 etc. But if your budget is restricted to 1.15lakhs then I don't think anything can beat the NS.It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider's nuts, the ride - bolts!

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Mate, there are very less tall riders in India & hence less bikes comfortable for tall people. However fortunately NS is very comfortable for tall people. I am 6.2" tall.Originally posted by LostRider View PostHey guys,

Its seat height is tall, handlebars are well positioned & footpegs feel neutral. Overall straight comfortable posture. Tank does not obstruct leg comfort/position.
Comfortable Bikes for tall riders above 200cc & below 2 lakh budget: NS200, Dominar400, Mojo, Bullet & Thunderbird, CBR250R (good enough, but slightly sporty)
Pillion comfort in NS200 is not good due to stiff chassis, suspension & seats. Pillion's back & butt are likely ache during long tours.
You can drive @90-100 comfortably in NS. It is meant to be revved & all its power comes alive in higher RPM's.
I would say Yes, NS is a good buy. It is freshly updated to BS4. But unfortunately it does not come with ABS until next year. (Govt. made it mandatory for all motorcycles above 125cc to have ABS by April 2018)
Notable drawbacks:
- Servicing NS/AS/RS/Dominar is a PITA. Most of the DIY work will be very difficult.
- Doesnt have Honda level refinement. Motor is a bit coarse, as it partially shares the KTM motor.
- Expect minor niggles & learn to fix them
- Quality is good enough, not great.

Could not agree more on what Anubhavrider , Sal, and marmiteminer have already mentioned. But would like to stress & add some stuffs.
Anubhav said that vibrations may fade after 6k rpm. I personally haven't observed it as close, but while travelling at 90-100 the vibes were pretty much present. In an 160-200 km distance ride, I almost had a little pain at my elbows the following day because of the constant vibe's irritation. However, they might have got it fixed in the newer versions and it might have reduced.
Like Sal said, Performance/handling/brakes are great. Back seat is rigid and pathetic.
And like marmiteminer said, Bike is very comfortable for people above 6 in height. Also drawbacks are on point!
- Servicing is a damned task! And will definately cause more of damage then good to your bike, Irrespective of which ever SVC you take it to pan India!
I would like to add the certain things about the bike.
- The front seat is also a bit hard. For a long run, Either it requires practice or a 'GEL' Sheet.
- Back seat is quite high and not easy to climb onto. Especially to aged people. Also is quite stiff as previously mentioned.
- I didn't like the newer graphics of 200 written near the tank. I rather like the stripes. But overall, I feel the agressive look of 200ns is just great.
- There is a noticeable sway during cross-winds, while travelling above 80.
But overall, I like the bike pretty much and would definately recommend anyone to go for it.SOMETIMES,
YOU FIND YOURSELF IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE;
AND SOMETIMES,
IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE,
YOU FIND YOURSELF!

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I've done Bangalore to Madurai a 500Kms journey Non stop at 90 to 120KmpH. It is quite suitable for Long rides but not for Offroads.Originally posted by LostRider View PostHey guys,

I'm 6'. And for tall riders there are very few bikes which offer comfort like the NS. Just because of the height issue I can't stand driving a FZ or R15.
NS old gen does has vibes between 5K to 6K but then it fades away. The riding position is upstraight and the Handle bars are well placed.
It's not as refined as CBR but it is much much better than RE in terms of NVH levels and at the price point it is the best. Although you can consider Apache 200V which is technically a bit less advanced than NS.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Looking for tire change.
As a follower of this Forum for quite a long time I see that "Michelin Pilot Street Radial" is the most chosen.
Michelin costs around 5.4K
MRF ZAPPER Q at 3.2K
MRF Masseter at 3.8K
130/70 is not available and the above mentioned ones are of 140/70.
I want to know about MRF Masseter and are there any low cost alternative to the Michelin.
Thanks

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hi Guys,
Need ur precious help on this!
My NS is currently 17500 on odo.
The problem with the bike is that it is making extreme and most irritating & unbearable humming and whining noise while riding on high speeds with hell lot of vibrations on rear brake pedal. The acceleration has become harsh and I have to pull the throttle hard. Bike struggles to reach 100 kmph, but reaches after very hard pull on throttle.
Also whenever I decelerate the noise is there. I am really getting irritated and fed up with this issue due to which am not able to enjoy the ride.
What must be the issue?
(P.S. Changed chain-sprocket assembly 2 weeks ago)
