Re: New Apache rtr 200 4v matte red color paint chipping off...
I'd recommend buying a Pulsar 200NS instead! The paint quality on the 200NS is excellent!Originally posted by AARYA SHANK View Post

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hi Everyone, its been two years and 3 months with my ns, yesterday my bike didnt start (It has petrol in it
), a nearby mechanic came and said the battery was drained
. He took the bike with him (it started after doing the thing in the first gear
). He called me and said he will recharge the battery. He did the same and returned the bike in the evening saying that life of battery is at an end, if the bike starts in the morning then it will be good for two months otherwise it needs to be replaced. To my luck my bike started without hesitating in the morning and i was relieved. Now my questions are:
1) Do i need to change the battery, if yes, help me with what to buy.
2) I changed the headlamps to white lamps which costed around 2000rs and the mechanic connected them directly to battery(they can be turned on without starting the engine), do i need to change this setting for improving battery life?
3) Thinking of doing a new paint job with dull black for the entire bike, any suggestions?
4) Just now seen the new ns 2017, and i loved the paint job and the engine cowl, can i get them at the service centre and the paint job too?
5) After seeing the new ns, exchange of my old bike crossed my mind
, how much can i expect for the old bike?
Bike is black ns, two years and 3 months old, ran 24k kms, no issues, and gives a mileage of 35-40 kmpl.
Thanks in advance for your answers and suggestions.
Safe Riding everyone.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
When I went touring with a backpack, I placed the flat side of the backpack on the pillion seat and a bungee cord from one pillion foot-peg through the bag straps and on to the other foot peg. If tied well, it will be stable.Originally posted by dj_richard05 View PostGuys I'm planning a tour this weekend. I have a backpack and would like to fix it to my rear seat. What options are best as I would like to be riding comfortably.

Check the play of the chain around the middle area. It should not go up and down more than 25cm. If it is more than that, you can tighten it yourself by setting a higher number on the round chain adjusters. I think the size of the nut is 17 and the bolt 22.Originally posted by FalseChard7808 View PostHi
I own a 2015 200NS Black/Blue and i've done 21,000 kilometers on it so far. But i've had a problem so consistent that its tearing me up in frustration
. For the last three times i gave it to a Bajaj ASS, the chain would become extremely lose and it would make a lot of noises that affects rideability so much that pickup is lost, mileage is affected and so on. In fact it was so bad that it actually came off as i was trying to pull away from a signal, pretty much the first break down. I've owned a Discover DTS-SI before this and it had the same problem but only after i drove it in the wet, but this thing happens for no reason. I asked a local mechanic and he said that the chain sprocket is lose and the chain is weak. I'm beginning to think that the Bajaj ASS I give it to is in fault. But I also want to know if any P200NS owners out there have experienced this and share their workarounds?
Also Can anyone recommend a Good Bajaj ASS in Chennai? I regularly give it to Ram Motors in Ayanavaram. Thanks.
In my experience I find that the Bajaj service centres are crowded as all bajaj bikes are serviced under one roof. As a result, the technicians do not have the time to spend on our bikes the way we would like them to. You can try Jai Bajaj in Adyar. They are decent.
If you do basic maintenance like changing oil, oil filter, adjusting chain, cleaning/replacing air filter, cleaning spark plug, etc., you will be able to avoid a lot of hassle you get from service centres.

1) I would say, get it checked by another battery mechanic.
2) Can they be turned on without the key? If so, couldnt someone accidentally/deliberately leave your headlights on?
3) Have you considered vinyl wrapping?
4) It crossed my mind too
. If it is maintained well, i think you can get 60,000. Why not wait and see? There is a possibility that Bajaj might release NS with ABS and FI in the future.

1)yeah,im thinking of getting it checked with the service centre.
2) No, they cant be turned on without the key, the ignition has to be switched then i can switch on the lights if i want to without starting the engine.
3) vinyl wrapping? for the whole black parts of the bike? how much ll it cost?
4)I maintain my bike well. I ll wait before doing anything in haste
.
It ll be cool if they provide the old NS owners with the cowl and the paint job at some cost, so that we dont have to sell our beloved bike and just upgrade it.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I was having a constant pressure leakage from the front tyre. I checked myself for punctures, but could not find any. I took it to a puncture guy and he sprayed the soap solution and I saw bubbles coming out of the rim. Along the half circumference. He told to check with the company.
What could be the possible problem? Does it require a tyre change?SOMETIMES,

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Is the paint around the rims getting off? I had the same problem a while back, showed it to mrf tyres service centre, the boy there said it was due to gap created by the paint that got off. He papered the entire rim and fitted the tyre, works just fine. He took 200 rs for one tyre. You can get a paint job done afterwards.Originally posted by Santosh Nair View PostI was having a constant pressure leakage from the front tyre. I will check for the paint issues then. If find something similar will get the tyre to some shop. Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I'm not quite convinced with the "engine refinement" bit. Any brand new bike is gonna be more refined than a older machine before things start to rattle loose. But yeah - the 2017 version is BSIV compliant.Originally posted by Gowty View PostDino's Vault review says, the new one has a Refined Engine.
