Yes, that is the paint fading and patches of it coming off. I didnt consider that it could be that gap causing the air leak. I tried spray painting the faded patches, but they come off in a while too.

Tyre size?
Front is: 110/70 (stock is 100/80)
Rear is 150/60 (stock is 130/70).
There is a 1cm reduction in height, but you gain more width (i think).

[QUOTE=mallikarjunsadanand;1281893]Hey, thanks. It is not oil leakage. I had just cleaned the chain with kerosene and that is what you are seeing.Originally posted by OccasionalWanderer View Post

Bro... I noticed Oil leakage here... Is that from your bike?

I do feel a better acceleration and pull. I am hoping I am not imagining it! Thankfully there is no dip in fuel efficiency.Originally posted by IamAditya View PostAny difference in acceleration and f. efficiency ?

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hello brothers, need your opinion on this :
I am changing tyres, and have gone through some pages on this thread in regards to this and now I am confused which ones to go for. I dont want to upsize the tyres and I need a tyre for better cornering stability and also should have a bit of durability:
Front Tyre options :
MRF Zapper FX
MRF Zapper FX1
MRF Zapper FY2
Michelin Pilot Sporty
Rear Tyre:
MRF Zapper S VS MRF Revs S --> Which one is better here?
PS : I have kept Pilot Street (for rear only, as the Pilot Street front is of 110 size) as an option too, but since its pretty costly have kept it as alternate last option.Last edited by Sal; 03-15-2017, 05:22 PM.It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider's nuts, the ride - bolts!

For the front avoid pilot sporty.
Rear I feel Revz is better.Last edited by Shashank K R; 03-15-2017, 08:51 PM.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Do read till the end.
Though long will help you a lot in your bike purchase experience.
First I din't had good experience with Bajaj showroom or the service guys anywhere may it be Karthik Bajaj in KR Puram(where I used to service my bike since it is near my home) or khivraj Bajaj in Whitefield (where I purchased my first bike i.e., pulsar 150-dressed to thrill edition). In regards to purchase it took a month for khivraj Bajaj Whitefield to get my insurance and made me make n no. Of rounds to get my bike's registration number and one month more to get my RC card that too I had to go to RTO to get that, pretty much a very bad experience.
Leaving that aside it was all good,I enjoyed my bike, had two minor accidents, first one due to my mistake where my bike got skid due to loose gravel and my bikes left footpegs were gone, minor scratches on saree gaurd footrest, left indicator broke and some scratches on left pilot light and also leg gaurd.I was like wow nothing much happened and all i replaced all damaged parts at just Rs 700!pretty cheap right,I love Bajaj for that. And also point to be noticed was nothing major damage happened to any of the part, let me tell you accident was minor for me as i din't get any injuries but my bike took a pretty bad hit and went scraping the tarmac for atleast 2 meters.Isnt that great and speaks of great quality. After that all went good with on time service but one thing I disliked in my pulsar 150 was the engine sound,it was too harsh for my ears. But any how I managed. It never let me down, gave best mileage of 46 in city and unbelievable 74 in highway at sane speeds of 60 KMPH and if ripped to limits would give me 40 kmpl and worst was 28 kmpl but worst wala happed only once.Lately I got in sync with my bike and started touring ,first I started with 100 KMS to and fro and then lately it went as high as 1000 KMS in two days, So much I toured that in just a span of 2 years of purchase it touched an odo indicated 38000 KMS.All in all it was good but in the process of touring my bike met another but a major accident at a dangerous harpin bend but this time my friend was riding it and fortunately nothing happened to him but again my bike took a Major hit and this time my bike's front headlamp got broken,I got it replaced and that costed a bummer of Rs 3k.But that's ok nothing major and even then my bike dint give up,but it gave up on handling,it started to wobble a bit above 70 kmph,it gave up on braking as well .I tried everything to get it rectified but all in vain,no one was able to rectify, changed brake pads, master cylinder but brakes were not up to the mark and handle bar was wobbly, yeah one thing I din't do was giving my bike shock absorbers to lathhe for allignment and also my bikes front and back rim was bent which I never minded to get rectified. My mistake though and also Service people never responded properly and never did the service according to my satisfaction.
But after two years of riding I was getting bored of its lazy pickup and acceleration.Even I felt scared while braking,it used to skid a lot,so one day I made my mind to get a new bike which would suit me in touring long distances with my friend as a pillion and has good power and torque, less on maintainence.I was very confused between
Honda CBR 250R
R15S
RS 200
Duke 390/200
At last CBR 150 R
RTR 200
NS 200 which was about to launch again
and I was waiting enthusiastically when I learnt that 200 ns is gonna launch again,so I started watching PD reviews as well as dinos vault and also previous ownership experience thread on xBhp.After seeing all this Pulsar NS 200 ticked all the right boxes for me.
It was cheap to buy,
cheap to maintain
parts were cheap,
quality was good(previous experience with Pulsar 150)
So I narrowed down to this baby, prepared my finances,I was ready with full cash to get my baby.
Now it was time to convince my parents since they were against it since they din't want me to change my bike in just a span of 2 years.
But least they knew I was transformed into a hardcore biker and a true blue tourer also they were convinced I with my riding as well since they knew me as a guy who rides sedately, wears riding gears all time and follows traffic rules, they agreed on my point for the new purchase.
Let me tell you all my younger brothers here who are gonna purchase a new bike on parents money and if parents are against it,try to convince them as calm as possible and never try to fight with them(it's your wish whether to abide by it or not)
I Tied to convince them in the calmest way possible. It took me 2 months to convince them though a I was purchasing it on my finances.
Hurray they agreed(lesson learnt-never fight with parents, try your best to convince them in the most honest and humble way possible, they will agree)
All done
so far so good
Now coming to my purchase experience.
Due to bad experience in my previous purchase I was very much careful this time.
I was looking for the best Bajaj showroom in Bangalore and luckily Google showed me it's just near to my office with 4.0 rating.saw reviews, excellent they were.So decided to give it a try, least I knew that I would be buying from them
After seeing google reviews about Amba bajaj Madiwala i was excited that at least there's one bajaj showroom in bangalore that is good at its best called customer service.
I called them first,a girl picked the call, she told you can have a test ride and choose the bike,i wondered wow ,a test ride before confirming a vehicle, then i went there, the same girl was there, she greeted me and then all the purchase formalities started, paid booking amount and then i asked her for the bike to be shown so that i can check first before it getting registered at RTO and getting it delivered to me because after registration you will not have an option to change your bike, she agreed.
Now the branch manager Mr Rahul came into picture,he assisted me in gettig my bike checked first though the godown people were bit hesitating but on Mr Rahuls intervention the godown people called me up and showed me the bike,i checked it for any defects, great there were none,
wow,so far so good.I thanked Mr Rahul and left home. And the best part is they gave me the flexibility of payments,i payed via the mobile banking and they never resisted me for a particular payment method and I made three payments in a partial amounts.
Who gives so much flexibility to you.
Now it was 8 th wednesday, delivery day of my bike.I rush from my office with my friend and wow my baby Pulsar 200 NS was shining with all its glory, got my bike documents,Mr Rahul got 0.5 ltrs of petrol filled in my bike in front of me,wished me all the best.he was so polite and humble in the whole process. You know what, their moto is not just sales its customer relationship on which they are standing today.so far so good.isnt it.
Also whenever i called them for any doubts the same or another receptionist would pick up the call and very patiently clear all my querries.
So I took my bike home in the evening that too in huge traffic.Reached temple by 7 PM, performed all puja rituals and took her to home.
While riding back home everyone was staring at my bike,i felt great.[emoji5] [emoji5]
i rode my baby everyday and whenever i rode it it gave a wide grin on my face.
Now coming to brake in:
I din't get the service manual though ,when asked they told that it's a new production bike and service manuals will be delivered the next week same is the case with dominate a as well.
But I downloaded it online and read it thoroughly but one thing dint like is the breakin procedure,it's rubbish. Its the same since Bajaj started manufacturing it's old classic pulsar 150.
So I saw dukes manual since pulsar ns 200 engine is derived from Duke 200 with some mods on piston, sohc setup and some small bits here and tr.But I dint follow it to its extent since it's not the same engine(KTM says to ride till 7k rpm till 1000 KMS)but I followed my own.I kept the revs below 5.5 k rpm and my baby loves it,it's just very rev friendly.
I took into traffic then into some twisty roads and some highways(continuous 100+100 KMS) as well for brake in.
in a matter of just 7 days i completed my 500 KMS,one weird thing experienced is the acceleration lag,it was acceptable but after it hit reserve it became more prominent,I din't knew the reason,Amba bajaj service advisor told it's petrol issue, will drain and check in first service whereas Karthik Bajaj told its airlock due to high temperatures (I thought what that too in Bangalore 31 degrees,I thought then it wouldn't start in Rajasthan then-lol[emoji13] [emoji13] [emoji13] ).
After it hit reserve I filled shell petrol and acceleration issue came down a bit.I waited for 500 KMS to get over so that I can go for the first service. As I told I completed it in 7 days with mixed road conditions.
Best part is i got an impressive mileage of 45 kmpl, with rpm ranging from 2k to 5.5 k rpm and at 5k otself bike goes at 70kmph(speedo indicated).
If you are concerned about speed then
6th gear 4k rpm-50 kmph
6th gear 4.5k rpm-60 kmph
6th gear 5k rpm-70 kmph
So far so good
Now comes the first service.service indicator(wrench symbol) started glowing at 450 KMS and it was time for my baby to get first check up done.
On Wednesday 15th mar 2017 I went to Amba Madiwala for service.Service advisor Mr Vishal came and asked about any issues.I told him about accn lag and also about the handlebar going a bit towards left when left with both hands (it's dangerous to do so ,i did it to check the handlebar allingment and also I don't know whether it's common for any bike to go a bit towards left when both hands left while riding..plz help me guys if you feel it's normal or it needs to be rectified) and free service thing.
I waited there to check my bike being serviced but the worst part here was in order to check the acceleration lag the service advisor Mr Vishal opened full throttle (gently) until redline for atleast 30 secs and I was frightened, immediately asked him what are you doing, his response was
(SA-Service advisor)
(Me-Myself)
SA:Sir see we get only a minimal amount of time to check vehicle and we can't go distances slowly riding your vehicle so ripping is the only way we get to know about any issue in a vehicle and If something happens we are there to take care right.
Me:what about the brakein period why do company and even you recommend to ride within limited rpm
SA:Sir see these are new bikes and they are well built and finished to take the beating as well but we recommend you to ride slowly so that if by chance you are ripping in mid way and something happens how will you take care of that.
His words din't seem to me convincing but had to go with it
(Note:let me tell you guys when you leave your vehicle in any ASC not only Bajaj any company ASC your bike is ripped to its limits by service technicians but you are unaware reason being you were not there during service and you just left your bike trusting them and you come in the evening to collect your bike , unaware of the part that it was ripped in your absence.)
Enough of that!Huh
Coming to the point
SA after ripping Said there is no such issue, put petrol in the same bunk or use good quality petrol. Then another service technician took the bike for ride to see the lag,he also ripped it but this time it was on road,he came back saying it's all fine and there's no such issue.
I said ok,what else I could tell them
Then they cleaned the bike, dried it,changed the engine oil,my old oil was still good to some extent,it was not fully black either.
Then changed oil filter
Did regular checks regarding clutch and battery, greased them
Checked fuel line by just releasing some fuel out,no blockage was there but i had a doubt on carb{thought carb needs to be cleaned} ,they said dont do anything now,its all fine.
Then they lubed chain and topped up coolant and my baby was ready to roar again.
But bill came up to 715 which was just a bit costly for a first service which excludes labour charges.I paid and left.
Improvements noticed:
Pick up improved
Acceleration lag came down to a great extent
No change in mileage
Roars more
So far so good
My NS baby is already in full syn with me
Now comes the service part and its quality;
Tell me one Bajaj ASC which allows you to be there while your bike is getting serviced. Most of them will not leave you inside and if they leave also they will make you sit in the customer lounge from where you can see anything which is a timewaste. That doesnt mean you can be near your bike but you can stand far away in the customer lounge and see your bike getting serviced(Plz dont disturb service technicians, they have to service others bikes as well).
What else there are service supervisors named Vishal and Guru who listen to your issues very patiently and gave answers to all my querries during the service.
MR Rahul himself was supervising it for some time and it was really great talking to him regarding Biking bcoz he himself is a biker by heart.Wow i felt like i was in a bikers heaven. But the only thing i felt bad there was they rip your bike hard, which is bit unacceptable.
So far so good.
Will post the experience in the coming days as i start munching miles.
Thank u all
For some entertainment here are some pics pf my baby

Hey Bro.... Thanks for the detailed review Man.... Just a question... I guess your stock tires are of EUROGRIP correct??Originally posted by virusuman View PostDo read till the end.

I recently went to one of the BAJAJ Showroom and NOticed that
1) White and Black color had EUROGRIPS
2) Red Had MRF's.
Is my guess correct?

Sir, Bajaj is installing tyres randomly, either MRFs or Eurogrips. Nothing as per particular colour or shade. I have seen a red one with eurogrips.Originally posted by mallikarjunsadanand View PostHey Bro.... Thanks for the detailed review Man.... Just a question...
