  • WAIT or BUY?

    Hi All,

I have finalized that my next bike is going to be NS200. So I'm not here for bike suggestion, but some advice.

I was expecting that the 2017 NS200 will come equipped with ABS. I expected that it will be oferred as an option at least when
I saw the stickering on the console which read as "JLA/K4 N ABS". I have waited till now. But there seems to be no sign of it.

From last one and half month, I have been messaging on Bajaj's facebook page, commenting on each post and emailed them nearly 5-6
times and called them 2 times to take it as a feedback to release the ABS version in india also.

I also saw that there were many people who were commenting on their fb page for ABS version.

I currently have a UNICORN 160, So my doubt is whether to buy the NS200 now or wait for another few months??

Is any one out here in the same boat as me?? If yes please call the Bajaj Customer care toll free number 1800 233 2453
and tell them that to take it as a feedback.

The reason why i'm worried we can't fit it once we purchase it. ABS may not be useful in all the situations, But
definitely it will be helpful in at least one situation where our time is bad.

PS: please don't suggest to go for D400(out of budget), RS200(Naked priority) and RTR200 and 180(Do not like them).

Saran let me tell you something,no bike is void if vibrations it's may be CBR 250 as well or domination 400 or ns a bit of vibes will be there.
Coming to my ns part,it goes to 70 in a jiffy, you won't notice but you will be hitting speeds of 70 KMPH @ 5k rpm, coming to the vibrations part it starts at exact 4 k rpm bit at tank and as revs rise to 5k vibrations vanish from tank and a slight vibe starts at footpegs ,i don't know above 5.5k rpm because I haven't ridden above that yet but will tell you once I cross 1k mark on odo, presently it's 630kms

A properly maintained CBR 250 will not have any vibes whatsoever. None of the Yamaha bikes have any vibrations right up to the red line. Even the TVS RTR 200 has absolutely none anywhere in the rev band.

Vibrations is a Bajaj thing and somehow they just can't get rid of them, even with Orange assist. Still, if one can live with it, they are making some wonderful motorcycles no doubt.

Ever bike has vibes, even the cbr250, just go through their thread.
Even saw parallel twin R3 has vibrations, in their thread .

Rtr has vibes and harshness, honda hornet has a lot if noise vibes and harshness .

In bajaj bikes bikes the most refined till date is RS200.
and I can say that after riding most of the bikes under 2,00,000, RS200 is the smoothest bike at redline except cbr and r15.
Thats a great achievement for Bajaj.
So telling vibration is their thing is not fair mate.

            Cheers.

It's ok yaar, what's there to fight here, leave it it's an ownership thread not a comparison one.
I just quoted Japs bikes to tell you that there are some minimal vibes in all bikes which some leave unnoticed because those vibrations are not so irritating and you can be fine with that.Same is the case with 200 ns.
My CBR friend plz don't feel bad
              I respect all bikes

Since this is not a What bike query. You already know what bike you want

At the NS200 ride at the Bajaj plant, i asked the top boss present there about the availability of ABS in the NS. They gave a typical 'Bajaj' response. 'Yes we have everything in place, we can slap it onto the bike whenever we want'. Basically they said something and told me nothing! So no clue!

I wouldn't expect ABS on the bike, until the government makes it mandatory. I hope i am wrong though!
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

                    NS guys..
                    Must watch!

I strongly believe our chassy is more capable than KTMs trellis or RTRs syncro stiff frame.

What we need is a better tuned and damped front forks.

                    Cheers.

Brakes are better on NS compared to duke200.

F.E between 30 to around 45, depending upon riding style and depending upon city traffic, highway etc.

I like the brake fluid cap and the brake levers on this guy's bike. Wonder if we will get them here.

I have also thought about the front forks being softer. Would adding 10ml more of fork oil make them stiffer?

Yes i did a lot of research on that..
Adding 10-20ml can decrease the dive in.

The difference comes in the second half of the suspension travel

Other thing you can do is, using thicker fork oil, motul 20w

Other thing is changing the fork springs with better one.

Sadly Ninja300 and z250 are the only other bike with 37mm forks.

But kawa parts will burn your pocket purse etc..😅

R15 has 39mm forks, the closest to NS, the fork springs must be a fit on NS, if it does, then NS's dynamics will get better by a huge margin.

                              Cheers.

Brakes are excellent on NS. They have a nice feel. Vibes will be there around 4.5K to 5K. Above that it'll reduce. Using a full synthetic oil will help to great extent. Avg Mileage you can expect 32 to 40 in city if you ride sane. In highways I've got even 49+ KmPL. I lived in Bangalore for quite sometime and I got 36 to 38 on Avg ignoring Friday silk board traffic.
