Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
P.s. one very experience mechanic suggested that putting petrol through the spark plug hole and blowing high compressed air through it will solve the problem. He suggested against going to the svc as it might result in bigger problems to my bike. should i go with what he has said ? Will that process solve the problem ?Originally posted by Balgi View Post

Replace the bulb holder to a ceramic one; the stock bulb holder and wires gets hot even with the stock 55/60 bulb. Also use a relay - you are doubling the load on the wires.Originally posted by krixna View PostI'm using 100/90W now. Just changed bulb. No other modifications. Battery charges good too.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Ok, here's the deal. you only do valve lapping when you get your engine overhauled and at that point have to change the valves because they are either bent or not sealing properly. See, lapping is basically grinding of the valves to match its surface to the surface of the port on the bore head in order to achieve perfect sealing. That very rarely has to be done on a vehile unless you're having to change the valves.Originally posted by shreezan View PostThanks bro. I will definitely tell this tomorrow in the svc. It's really annoying when it happens. And do you have any idea on valve lapping ? If yes then i'd be really grateful.
So are you changing the valves? If no then don't bother with lapping. you're valves getting stuck open means the lubrication of the head is improper and insufficient and that your valve springs are shot to hell. change the springs and clean out the head with diesel and kerosene and then fit and run, the problem will be gone.
And here's a tip for the future to avoid such problems, Every 5-8k kms just get a big can of "MOTOR FLUSH" and after removing the old oil pour this in and start and idle the bike for exactly 30 secs (any more and you risk ruining the piston rings coz motor flush is really thin and non lubricating) after this remove this and pour in new oil and your bike will run like new ( also add 10ml "NULON" engine teflon to the new oil after this for best results).
I ran my Honda unicorn for 8 years and 90k kms on only oil changes and this before having to overhaul the engine. so trust me this works wonders and keeps your bill small when the time comes for a new bore kit.
Cheers

Read my post fully and don't apply your mechanics intellect to your bike. The process he suggested is not a true solution but just a temporary fix which will cost you on the long run.Originally posted by shreezan View PostP.s. one very experience mechanic suggested that putting petrol through the spark plug hole and blowing high compressed air through it will solve the problem. You gonna ruin your electricals or the reflectors with a 90/100 bulb.Originally posted by krixna View PostHella Rally H4 100/90 W

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Buddies My NS is now one and a Half Months old and 800Km on the ODO. When I drive for some 20 Mins in the traffic the radiator gets too hot and starts to throw hot air on the legs.. Is it Normal...?? Even the body panels (the one's below the tanks) are also getting hot.
Secondly, She was returning Me an FE of 43KMPL before first service but now the Mileage is only around 27 - 32 Kmpl
Haven't rode her above 5K rpm after first service except some speed bursts to 8K rpm

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hi All,
how to check the oil level. as per manual it says it should be between the low and max level on the window. but issue is that in that glass there is no marking at all.
on keeping bike at center stand and checking the oil level, its like not fully covering the glass, but above 3/4th level. And I am getting low oil pressure icon blinking.
Any idea if the oil is low or is it the indicator gone faulty.??

Should be around half the glass, is what they mean by btw min and maxOriginally posted by ep452 View PostHi All,

Either pressure sensor, or faulty oil pump. Better get it checked immediately.

also if i keep bike on center stand and start engine, i could see the oil level decreasing. that means oil pump is working, right? or can't we judge the oil pump conditino from this?

It is sucking and pumping, alright. But the 'oil warning' light blinks when adequate pressure is not developed, or the sensor does not sense the pressure (faulty)Originally posted by ep452 View Postthanks,

then what is the actual reason for oil level decrease if its not the oil pump working?

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Well, there are two reasons actually. All the rotating parts in touch with oil will pick up some of it when the engine is working...plus the pump workingOriginally posted by ep452 View Post
