If you run the engine continuously or v fast in the initial period you'll get that burnt smell due to heat.. it's perfectly normal. But be warned not to ride it past 50kmph till 1000kms

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Bro check the underbelly exhaust for any chain lubricant or the engine oil which is left after service.Originally posted by chetanrock View PostThanks Bro,
but while I am driving the bike, the fan is not turned on..it only smell when the stopped...anything serious..

same thing happens to my bike but cleaning the chain spray which are on the silence dove the problem and some time when the bike is new the disc pad also make some smell but you must cheek any oil leakage from the seal and if there is no leakage do not take any tensionLast edited by deep007; 12-29-2014, 09:17 AM.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Same problem here, the SVC mechanic told me he needs to take the bike apart to find out what is causing it. Anyone got this problem and fixed it?Originally posted by sumedh11n View PostAnyways, there's a noise coming from the front part of handle bar, like Krrrrrrr... constantly while riding...(as if something is vibrating)
I just tried to rectify from where it's coming, by bringing my ear close to the handle bar, then it was quite louder. I cannot rectify from where it's coming. It's very irritating.
Anyone has any idea where this "Krrrr.." noise is coming from??

A bikes age is measured in kilometres, not years. :POriginally posted by Kiran200NS View PostMark200ns Dude my bike is a year old and still the suspension is tougher
That's y I'm asking for a remedy
Isn't a year enough for making the mono shock soft enough???

Hmm. Then it's old enough. Well, what did the svc guy say? Mine became loose because I mostly travel with my girlfriend. So I think that might have helped me.Originally posted by Kiran200NS View Post10k kms

Good decision. White would have been shit. Because it only looks good when it's new. When it gets old, or dirty, those stickers look really tacky.Originally posted by pradeepraaj View PostHello Guys, Finally fixed on taking the Red Black NS, (took me almost a month to settle on the red,the other one being the white )

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Mark,Originally posted by MarkNS View PostSo they took out 100 ml of petrol from my bike, and we took it for a ride. It went exactly 6 kms. Meaning? A mileage of 60kmpl. Holy shit. And yes, we'd exhausted the fuel in the carburetor first and then checked the mileage.
Maybe the roads where I ride aren't really that great. Or maybe my riding style is very shit.
I change gears at around 5.5k rpm and ride at a normal speed of around 75-80. While checking the mileage, I asked the technician to ride as I sat behind him, and he was changing gears around 4k rpm and around a speed of 50 kmph.
The others who are getting a good mileage, how do you ride?
How much is your daily commute? Is it in dense traffic with crawls in 1st and 2nd gears?? If you use your bike for short distances (like 2-3 kms or less) then your bike will return low mileage.
While my daily commute is 38 KMS one way its fairly free moving and I manage to complete this journey in around 45-50 mins. So my average speeds are quite high.
I change gears at 5K RPM and don't go beyond 85 KMPH (90 KMPH tops). Once in a while I do take her till 120 kmph but thats very, very rare. I don't have the courage to ride this fast in Bombay.
Hope this helps. All riders fall; some get back on, some don't, some can't...

My daily commute is about 40 kms both ways. In the morning, there is zero traffic. While returning, it's dense traffic. :/Originally posted by hirenmistry View PostMark,

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Dude, just ride it the way it is.
You're struggling to get it softer and i m struggling to get it stiffer.
Actualy i got my monoshock replaced. Don't know, but i feel that the bike ride quality is degraded the earlier, because when i rode my frnd's NS with stock monoshock,
the bike felt much more stable and planted on the road than mine.
The replaced unit was alredy softer. I adjusdted it to stiffer setting, the ride height decreased.
I am not enjoying the ride coz of this. No solution to this I guess. So let it be as it is.

So 20 KMS one way, even if you have dense traffic in the evening 32 kmpl is too low.Originally posted by MarkNS View PostMy daily commute is about 40 kms both ways. In the morning, there is zero traffic. While returning, it's dense traffic. :/
Only thing I can say is lets exchange bikes for a week

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Most of the time, it is not a problem of bad mileage. I got up to 55kmpl on highway, mostly 50-60kmph in 6th gear. But in the city, I get only 40-45/L. Has gone down to 35/L sometimes. But, the same tuning, everything the same, next day returns 50/L on the highway again. Point noted. A six speed gearbox is not designed for city crawling. NS rules the highways (in it's class)Originally posted by MarkNS View PostMy daily commute is about 40 kms both ways. In the morning, there is zero traffic. While returning, it's dense traffic. :/
