Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Have use full tank method as well as reserve method...same mileageOriginally posted by srisathiyan89 View PostI dont know how you guys are calculating mileage.
But it shouldn't give 25 kmpl and all.
Atleast 35km we should extract from a litre.
by the way try changing/ cleaning your carb as they suggest and never try to calculate mileage again as long as you get smoothness enjoy power of the engine.
enjoy the speed it gives.
Have got it cleaned, hasn't helped even a bit

1.tappet sound is increasing day by day. should i wait till next service to adjust or shall i take to service center and pay them to get the job done?Originally posted by srisathiyan89 View PostDone with 1st free service oda clocked at 690+
they billed me 800 at free service.
Battery Maintenance 34rs
Consumables used 68rs
polishing 45rs
bajaj oil 20w50 468rs
chail lub oil 35rs
chain lub spray/rust 76rs
Oil filter 74rs
----------
Total 799
i went to service center by 12 PM. got the bike serviced by 8 30 in night
They tortured the bike lik beating a child for nothing.
I told the service manager that i am getting tappet knocking sound.
He noted down in the job sheet. at end of day they took my bike for service by 8 30 PM.
I was standing right next to my bike and watch them servicing my bike.
service engineer serviced my bike in 20 min or so.
Then i asked manager still tappet issue is coming.
He started giving lecture. Its normal in pulsar bikes. Its 90 percent KTM duke's engine. it needs to accomodate 3 spark plugs so this sound is common

Bajaj is owning 42 % shares in KTM. This is what answer to my question regarding tappet sound.
i reached my house by 10 PM. When i parked my bike in side stand more sound started coming from tappet. Over all not satisfied with the service.
2.I asked service manager to adjust the tappet. He gave stupid answers and neglected my requests. can we report this to bajaj? is there any use in doing so?
3.After the service-engine oil change bike vibration increased, i could feel it after 4200 rpm itself.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I would suggest to take it to SVC again and make those Id**ts listen to the noise carefully.. Its a simple tappet setting that they are obliged to do properly during the 1st service.. Accuse them of not doing it during the 1st service n tell them that you wud feedback to Bajaj abt it n their negligent behavior...Originally posted by srisathiyan89 View Post1.tappet sound is increasing day by day. should i wait till next service to adjust or shall i take to service center and pay them to get the job done?

If they still don't do it then writing to bajaj is only choice.. How...? Guess their official website shud have feedback\complaint form or support email atleast... Don't forget to catch the names of the advisors who u have interacted or going to interact.. U wud need them while narrating the story to Bajaj... All the best.. Remember it's just the matter of a right mechanic who shud be looking at ur bike's problem.. Your bike shud hve no other issues if you hve followed the run-in period to almost diligently... 2k - 2.5k ideallyOriginally posted by levintt View PostI switched to Motul 7100 at 4800 on ODO. No issues so far(current Odo reading is 9600). Bajaj oil is not bad, just that it loses its viscosity at high temperature, bike becomes harsh after that. Motul retains its lubricating properties even when engine is extremely hot. Motul 7100 delivers lil better mileage too. Yes the smoothness might go down a bit, but man the engine revs better with motul.

Anyone knows the recommended oil change interval for Motul 7100 on 200ns ?

Nop,no problem at all. Cover a tour of 300km last month and just finished 1000km tour and I'm really satisfied with it.no leaked head. Actually I mistakely filled above Max level and was bit worried this time but nothing happened like linkage .

Don't do it bro. After 4500k it'll lose it's viscocity so protection against wear and tear is compromised. Don't use it on more than 5000k.Originally posted by utsavchs View PostClean it. Check jets. Check intake. Else replace it under warranty.
That low for 7100? I had used it for 6k and it seemed like I could had used it a bit more..Put The Pedal To The Metal

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hey guys.. What's the life of chain sprocket if it's used without any maintenance? My friend's bike chain is running dry for around 4500kms. Any after effects?Last edited by John P Daniel; 03-13-2015, 08:48 AM.

I think after 7k - 10k km you will have to change the sprocket and chain set if its not maintained. Please someone else should confirmOriginally posted by John P Daniel View PostHey guys.. Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I get 40 to 42 kmpl in city or highway, its never been lower than that, cause if i put 8 litres, i can go 320 plus kms, so imm sure, check ur carb, take it to the service and tell them.Originally posted by srisathiyan89 View PostI dont know how you guys are calculating mileage.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
ya it should be the ideal mileage we get. It was in reserve(fuel icon was blinking) i put 6 litres of petrol. I travelled 250 kilometers(around 200 kilometers in highway) with that the speed was mostly below 60, some times 60-70 kmph. even after crossing 250 kilometers. reserve icon didnt blink. so means..its giving above 40 kmpl.Originally posted by levintt View PostI get 40 to 42 kmpl in city or highway, its never been lower than that, cause if i put 8 litres, i can go 320 plus kms, so imm sure, check ur carb, take it to the service and tell them.
What is the real reserve level for 200 ns? how much tank ll hold when it came to reserve and how much can be utilized out of it?Last edited by srisathiyan89; 03-13-2015, 04:37 PM.
