The only other 200cc that's undoubtedly better is the Duke if your budget permits. It does 140 on the Speedo, yes accounting for Speedo errors. It should take you well past 100kmph without a sweat. It definitely is worth it upgrading from a 180. If more power is what you want then you have to look at a different category all'together. Duke 250, FZ25 and the list goes on.

The only better category is KTM 390 range but they are not in my budget range. My main focus is on good top end performance and great handling.Only NS200 from what I have read has both of them.Originally posted by Vicky_New_Guy View PostWhat other options do you have lined up?

I find Duke 200 a bit overpriced. No doubt it will have a good performance and handling but on paper its still a 200cc and marginally powerful than NS200.Buying a Dominar would make sense but its a bit on the heavier side. I was planning to buy R15 v3 if it releases in India but since Yamaha said R15 v3 is not for India I zeroed in on NS200.And about FZ-25,it doesn't offer the same features as NS 200 like 6th gear, liquid cooling, perimeter chassis and according to reviews its suspension is too soft and again not enough top end performance.

Performance wise the FZ-25 is definitely ahead of the the Pulsar NS 200. Here are the figures:
0-60: FZ - 3.37s, Pulsar - 3.87s
0-100: FZ - 8.58s, Pulsar 10.28s
Top speed: FZ - 134 kmph Vbox tested, Pulsar - 137 speedo reading.
Please see the Powerdrift speed test videos for confirmation.
I test rode the FZ and it very pleasantly surprised me, in fact I almost bought one instead of my Mojo. Keep in mind, this is a Yamaha we're talking about and the simply superb engineering will more than make up for the lack of liquid cooling and Perimeter chassis. Also the 5th gear (Gear ratio is – 0.852 (23/27) is very tall and most people who ride the bike claim not to miss the 6th gear. The NS 200 is a great bike but my advice; test ride the FZ before you write it off. It might just capture your heart.Last edited by Phaseolus; 06-27-2017, 03:13 AM.

NS 200 can achieve 0 to 100 in 8 sec with KIT Racing kit. It is simply a chain sprocket set. Check out youtube.Originally posted by Phaseolus View PostPerformance wise the FZ-25 is definitely ahead of the the Pulsar NS 200. Here are the figures:

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
What I think Shashank meant was that we are comparing stock vs stock. Most bikes can be modified for better performance ofcourse. My intention was to clear up the false notion that the stock FZ-25 is a worse performer than the stock NS 200.Originally posted by $Cj View PostYes. You have to change stock sprocket with KIT Racing sprocket.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Yes.. Some times comparing stock to stock does not make any sense at all... Say for example if you want to match only performance of fz25 with with NS 200 then we can replace chain sprocket with aftermarket with only cost maximum 2k. In this situation NS 200 is 30k lesser than fz25 and makes sense...Originally posted by Phaseolus View PostWhat I think Shashank meant was that we are comparing stock vs stock. But the thing is, most people don't like to play around with the engine/sprocketing. It might get you good results, but there's always a tradeoff.Originally posted by $Cj View PostYes.. In this case you're trading top speed for acceleration. Very few people would want to do this.Last edited by Shashank K R; 06-27-2017, 07:51 PM.

Yes of course there is a trade off... End of the day that's why it's cost effective...Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostBut the thing is, most people don't like to play around with the engine/sprocketing. It might get you good results, but there's always a tradeoff.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Agree!!! FZ-25 has a great ride quality. It's not a slouch by any means. It is fast. You maybe can compare it with Duke 250, not NS200. It's just too smooth. It is faster than the NS if speed is your main concern.Originally posted by Phaseolus View PostPerformance wise the FZ-25 is definitely ahead of the the Pulsar NS 200. Here are the figures:

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
FZ is not faster than NS200. You should try it on the road and shouldn't go by the details mentioned by Yamaha.. On the other hand FZ is smoother than NS upto the speed of 80kmph. After 80 kmph there is too much of vibration on the handlebar of FZ whereas NS remains smoothe till 110 kmph.Originally posted by Vicky_New_Guy View PostAgree!!! FZ-25 has a great ride quality.
