I am not looking to do those crazy modifications to make the bike sound louder. I know that there will be the carburetor returning and problems when putting those standard conical K&N air filters. Since this is specifically made for the NS, I was wondering if it will be a good investment in terms of long term performance improvement of the bike. By performance I do not mean getting more horsepower, sound, etc. I am thinking more along the lines of better fueling and combustion, smoother air inflow, etc.
Other than leaning your air fuel mixture and overheating engine you will get nothing with k&n. Slowly it will damage your valves then block due to less filteration compared to stock.
K&n helps only when you are planning to ride in high altitudes.
At sea level along with k&n you have to upjet also for more fuel to balance extra air which will eventually drop fuel economy drastically and it will give extra load on engine components which will reduce engine life.

Yesterday my bike engine got hot too much. The radiator fan was running even after switching of the engine. The kill switch was alone turned on again after switching of the engine.

      Video on the below link:

It's normal. NS's radiator fan will run even without the ignition on. Just turn on key and Engine kill to on, it'll work if the Engine is hot. Nothing problematic. But the same doesn't happens in RS

I seem to have a slight niggle on my NS. There's a squeaky sound from the front wheel that sounds almost exactly like a bird chirping ( too similar) I checked the front discs and there's a slight hissing noise when I rotate front wheel, is that normal? That squeak comes when I pull out the bike after a stop or when I ride at around 30 and hold clutch I can hear it. When I hit the front brakes the noise becomes continuous. So I parked the vehicle and tried to reproduce it and nada. No sound. It only come when riding in a quiet neighborhood. The service center guy said he isn't hearing and it's normal and what not. How do I tell him to fix what I cant reproduce in front of him. Damn frustrating

If your wheel is rotating freely then it's normal. Wash your discs and then check if your still getting that sound.

              Disclaimer :
This post is for the benefit of people who will buy the 2017 Bajaj NS200.

              Fact :
Not all, rather 95% bikes are coming with Eurogrip tyres again rather than MRF tyres which were actually mentioned. Guys make sure you check for the MRFs as the Eurogrip tyres are good for nothing.
I have seen quiet a few pics and seen personally that Bajaj is shipping then with the old eurogrip tyres.

Talk to the dealers, maybe they can give better clarity. Sad to see how bajaj saves money after promising the customers something.

Look up irevs, they custom make 15t, costly, 2500 approximately, bike will fell sluggish and difficult in day to day traffic.

I did enquire and price is whooping 2350 .. i think its little to much for a sprocket ehh ??

right now bike is peppy and beats likes of as200 d200 rc200 rs200 p220 in 0-100 dash

but then due to short gearing the top end has taken a massive hit.. you can tour but it stays in likes of 8k rpm @100kmh .. not so good :'(

sluggish in day to day traffic will do but touring is just not the forte my bike now :'(

if everything fails ill take rs rear and see .. if not happy would revert to stock .. which i find sluggish in lower rpms

Hi guys, got an issue with the chain set. When i put my ns on double stand and check the setting of chain its normal however after rotating the rear wheel a little bit the chain becomes very tight. I checked the wheel allingment which seems to be okay. A local mechanic told me the chain set needs to be replaced as I already clocked 18k kms on my odo. The svc guy also told me that the chain set needs to be replaced. I enquired about the price of chain set and it costs Rs.1900 at the SVC however in the market the bajaj genuine chain set for NS costs Rs.1130. Anyone has any idea why there is this much difference in the price of same product sold at different places. Any other suggestions to replace the chain set with a better option.

Regarding the first query, I saw mechanics using a Ring Spanner to remove Plugs.

Do you only use rear brake? Check for friction of the rear wheel. Put it in our main stand and rotate the wheel n check for any noise. Squeaky sound. There needs to be some free play between the pads and the disc. You can even try not using rear brakes. If it's still heating up there's no play. The disc should not heat up no matter what if not used

At SVC the total cost is 1900 for chain and sprockets plus 600 for labor charge. How many kms have you clocked till now ?

15k. Check the MRP on it. 600 for labour is too much. I'll call up my SVC later today and enquire about labour charges. Will keep you posted.
