One question, will they change the tyre or just give me the tyre and I will have to reach out to a mechanic ? (Asking because in Bangalore that’s what one of the dealer told me, and due to time couldn’t get it changed there)

Kaveri tyres do offer free installation.
Amirtham tyres don't offer installation because they don't have the right machine.

Thanks ! I got them changed to MRF Revz S before the lockdown. Front still the same, will get them done once we recover from this grave situation. Wanted to make sure bike is in working condition during the lockdown.

            Hi,

So my objective was to change the backlight of my AS200 console from orange to blue. The same applies to NS/RS/AS.
Only the console disassembly procedure varies. Was a blue backlight fan since RTR160. Also the switch cluster is of blue color, I feel it doesn't match pretty well.
So went through some threads in xbhp to get a rough idea of what LEDs are used inside.

            Analysis of console:
The LEDs for needle and tachometer is 3528 SMD 0.2W amber and Red colored.
Since needle is red I don't wanna mess up the colors.
The orange for the tachometer reading needs to be swapped with cool white.

The LEDs for the LCD is 0603 amber ones 0.1w each.
I needed it to be pretty bright so I went ahead using a slightly larger die chip.

Next large die was 1206 SMD LEDs.

            Things required.

            Desired color of LEDs
3528 and 1206 LEDs least 20 numbers each. SMD soldering can get messy at times. So some spare LEDs can be handy.

Micro soldering station. Soldron brand is recommended due to better temperature accuracy.
Can also use cheap SAMCON brand does the job well.

I'm not much concentrating on the dismantling part as this is already covered in the old thread from Xbhp.

Good soldering experience. This needs patience and lots of experience in terms of desoldering and soldering back.

Note: I'm not using desoldering gun. I'm using desoldering wick to desolder the LCD from the PCB.

Use 35w soldering for desoldering using the desol wick.
Note: dipping the desol wick in liquid flux will help the capillary action of the wick more effective.

Desolder the amber LEDs from the PCB. Mark the polarity of the LEDs.

I'm using cool white for the tachometer reading 3 LEDs.
And blue for the LCD display 8 LEDs.

If one needs he can also swapout the telltale lights LEDs and rev limiter LED color.
I personally like Red is the right choice for revlimiter. So went ahead with it.

A closer look on the PCB.

Now onto the voltmeter or battery voltage monitor system (Fancy techy name).

I bought these cheap 3 digit voltmeter modules off of AliExpress long back. One can use the blank space in console where the Bajaj blue logo is present (Bajaj Bluetooth Logo).

These LED voltmeters are available in various colors one can match the respective LCD backlight color he goes to.

The white plastic frame can be cut to the desired size to accomodate the voltmeter.

There has been significant changes in console of 2012 to 2013 NS and post 2013 NS since more tell tale lights have been added. the number of pins are higher in newer models.

Resolder everything back including the LCD and check the functionality.

Reinstall the casing back. Note: check the gasket (foam tape) used in the console cover. This is done to prevent moisture entry. Also one can add in a packet of silicon desiccant inside.

Will add the voltmeter pinouts soon below. There are two methods to get it wired up. Sense pin can directly be linked to battery or the wiring can be contained within console assy.

Will do a seperate post for voltmeter part. Since I'm adding one in my brother's used NS200 which we recently bought.

Guys.... A query.. has it ever happened.. your cruising normally around 85/90kmph... On an relatively empty down.. with peace and serenity down the road at 3:30 in the night & just without any problem, or errors or anything.. while running, the engine gets cut off like completely dead... Techometre/RPM gauge goes to 0.. speed is still like 85 and going down... Kill switch is at its normal position of running.. electricals are on... Indicators, everything running fine, but when I try taking self, it didn't work!!! This happened 2 times...????

And it so happened, I happened to give it a throttle, the engine is back to life and running past 100/ 105/110 ...! What can be the cause.... ????

I'm having hell of a time with the bike specially with the carb issues... doesn't go past 93kmph.. that 7k rpm.. I dunno what the curse behind it... It gets stuck there like it wants to kiss someone badly.. and than just stay there.... Until it finishes and his mind releases his duties and goes further.... But with it own sweet time!

                    Please advice ya....

Get your carburetor replaced as the diaphragm slider might have worn out. It will cause this issue.

At times just diaphragm can alone be replaced but mostly it leaves scratches on the carb body where the slider moves. So new diaphragm also acts weird.

Tachometer issues get your electricals checked and the CDi too

Have a check on all sockets
                          Take special care on
pulse coil/Crank position sensor output sockets.
                          CDI waterproof coupler.
                          Kill switch coupler.
And wiring harness near steering area (NS wiring harness is prone to fail near steering cone set area due to rubbing).
                          Get the HT coils checked.

This might possibly be a electrical loose connection

                            Clean DIY job

Just to add one point if atall to a well done DIY which can be improved is that you could use a piece of "Light Diffuser sheet/tape", a small 2x1" sheet can be placed on top of whole all LED lights or a small 1 square cm piece can be placed on top of each single individual LED's

It'll help in eliminating the uneven bright/dark spots in the region around the speed indicator area. Diffuser sheets can be sourced from LED lighting shops or easily found in old laptop screens or broken emergency lamps.

Expected outcome with diffuser sheet, even spread of light

                              Hi,
There is a diffuser present below the LCD by default in case of 200 series. The unevenness found inbetween fuel gauge and speedo area is intentional as there is a plastic bezel on that area also you could see there is no LEDs on that zone.

May be for bikes which doesn't have diffuser it will definitely even out the spots. Good point to be noted.[emoji3577]

Planning onto add temperature gauge. Any leads and suggestions are welcomed..
