Guys 3 days before i adjusted my tappet at my known mechanic. He adjusted well. Since then i was roaming around here and there in my local,no problem occured. Today i have gone to place which is 130 km away ,suddenly felt hiccups while riding then accelerated down engine stops like no oil in tank. After 15 mins it starts automatically. It happened two times today. What i experienced that in a mean time when accelerating the bike continuously at high rpm hiccup occurs.
I cant figure out what is the issue. I have a ride day on oct 23 for around 1000km round trip. Couldn't take the bike in this condition.

I plan on buying a secondhand 200 NS.

I have heard that the 200 NS models till 2013 slightly differ from those of 2014 and afterwards. Is this true? Also is 200 NS a reliable bike, especially the ones which have run 30,000 kms and above.

My usage is 20km to and fro to work place and weekend ride of 120 kms to my home.

My budget is 50k. Can I get a decent used one in within this range?

Suggestions and opinions are really appreciated, esp. from those who have used a 200 NS

      Thanks

      Rahul
Every bike is reliable if it has been cared for... properly. A timely serviced bike with proper oil grade and no funky stuff on it, easily lasts 1L kms.
2012 - First gen NS are raw machines. They have the badass grunt.
2013 - Third gen NS are a bit refined and doesn't give the raw feel.
2014 - Fourth/Fifth gen NS is highly refined with a changed CDi until. Feels like a Honda.

It may be due to too little clearance of one or more tappets. When it gets hot, the valves don't close fully and you lose compression. As a result the mixture doesn't ignite. When it cools a few minutes the valves close properly. This can be the issue if nothing else has been done.

Another reason can be that your mechanic has jammed the breather pipe of fuel filter between the tank and frame, while refitting the tank. This causes vacuum block in the fuel line temporarily. The block disappears in a few minutes, but keeps coming back.

I must probably think this could be the reason. going to check tomorrow.

This is definitely due to engine losing compression, can be due to an oil leak due to gasket issue or valve seating

Took my bike then again same problem persist but this time i noticed engine stops when bike ask for reserve ,when On position it runs without problem. Yesterday exact thing happened but after poured 2lt petrol bike started. Today the same story repeated[emoji32] . Strange for me. Any luck ???

Change fuel petcock, You are using bad fuel due to which the fuel strainer got choked up, hence reserve is not usable.

Dirt in fuel or water or both. First hole to get blocked will be reserve circuit's, inside the fuel-cock

                    Hello all,

Looking for a luggage carrier for my NS, as finding much difficulty to carry my rucksack for rides. I am looking for something like this which is showing in the picture. Suggest me a place in Bangalore from where I can pick up one or build one.

I'm looking for one too (everywhere!). Given up hope. What I'm going to do is, buy one of these (you have posted Honda's), cut and re-weld or change position of the bolt-holes, and maybe bend the fixing clamps (whichever is required).

Thank you for quoting, we should do something what you suggested if it is that much hard to find one. Please lemme know where we can get this Honda's at least, so that we can make a revolution .

Hello guys..I have been following this thread for a long time and I learnt many things about about NS from here..
And I need your help regrading my bike ...I maintain my bike well..
run in completed according to norm..
                              Changes oil periodically..motul 7100..
                              Rides it sanely..
Other periodical maintenance too done religiously..
                              Now coming to the issue..
Recently I drove a not so well maintained NS and to my surprise it was better than by bike in
1..the low end pull was great in the other bike..
2..the engine was accelerating freely in that one while my bike has high friction like feel in my engine from the day I bought it.. and decelerates very fast once I stop twisting the throttle..it is not smooth even after switching to motul 7100..
I have fiddled with afr many times but it didn't solve any of these issues..
3..gear box is not slick..while there is a nice feedback or click from it since switching to motul..
I'm cursing my ignorance to test ride other people's NS till now..aarrgh..
Till now I have clocked 11500 kms..
My bike is an late 2014 model which came with MRF tyres as stock..
                              Any suggestions for my problem..??
How can a ill maintained bike can surpass a well maintained bike in low end pull and pick up and also being smoother...
I repeat I feel like my engine is not free..it's got like lot of friction inside it..
I once rode a 220 and it felt way smoother than my NS and that feel was similar to the ill maintained NS both in low end pull and smoothness...
Is the carburetor an culprit behind this issues???
Help my guys..it's only my second post in 2-3 years in xbhp but I was an avid follower of this thread...

Are you sure your bike has a problem in the first place? Like, burning of clutch plates, sprockets, smoke from exhaust, engine knocking, oil consumption etc?
If not, simply chill and ride. Never have 2 bikes been similar.
