      Hello guys,

Posting here after a long time! Just wanted to update you regarding an electrical issue that I faced in my 200NS.

One fine day sometime last month, while going back home, I saw my bike behaving strange electrically. The ignition lights kept turning on and off while riding as if I turning the pressing the ignition switch off and on repeatedly, the bike kept moving though and after a little I got stuck in a traffic jam and the bike's electricals completely died. There was no sign of life. The horn, ignition, indicators, nothing worked.

I tried finding the fault by opening the seat and could find nothing. Tried push start it and it worked. Managed to reach home and then took the bike straight to my mechanic. The mechanic didn't bother to find the root cause and just showed me a blown fuse (20 amp) and replaced it with the spare one. The bike came to life again and I rode it for some time.

Then next day, while coming to office, the bike's rear tyre hit a pothole and the bike's electricals died all of a sudden. Checked the fuse and the same 20 amp one was blown again. I didn't have a spare one. Managed to push start it and came back home.

To me, it sounded like a problem with the wiring of the bike. Maybe a cut in a wire or the worn off insulation and when the naked wire came in contact with the chassis of the bike, it caused a short circuit and a blown fuse ultimately. Tried to find the faulty wire but to no avail.

Then took the bike to my mechanic again and found out the bike's radiator fan was completely jammed, which was causing this issue. So whenever engine got hot and the bike tried turn on the radiator fan, it would put unnecessary load on the electricals which in turn would result in excess current flowing through the fuse and blow it away. My mechanic replaced my radiator fan with his Duke's radiator fan (a direct fit) as he didn't have a new one and Bajaj ASS was also closed by that time.

The bike is running fine, so far. I am riding with a couple of spare fuses though!

Jammed motors draw huge current. True.

Bought a second hand NS a month ago its a 2012 model with current odd reading 15k. The condition is very good except some problems I am facing.
1-Pickup is not as much as expected for this bike.
2-During pickup bike vibrates alot, as much as one can hear vibrations.
3-After revving above 7k rpm when throttle is released with clutch unpressed, vibration is like annoying (whole body start vibrating with it)
4-At 5th gear between 5-6k rpm there is power loss, even I revv the engine the speed decreases.

Serviced a month ago with a local mechanic ( who is known to be very good )
          Using Castrol Power 1.
AFR setting is about 3 full trurns. Please help

In neutral, when the engine is warm, rev it slowly from 1.5K to 8K rpm (*using the black knob for setting idle*, not the throttle). Do this slowly, take about 30 sec for the process. Post your observations about any hiccups in between, what rpm(s) you get vibrations and any other faults that you notice.

Has anyone faced the rear tyre stepping out while cornering?? If so,can anyone tell me what could be the possible reason?

                  Possible reasons:
                  #Road has bad grip.
#Tyre has bad grip. This can be due to the rubber itself (as in Euroslip) or excess air pressure.
                  #Unevenly worn out tyre.
#Foot on brake. You may unknowingly press it further as you lean over and cause a skid.
#Accelerating suddenly while the bike is leaned over.

Can't think of anything else now...

                    1. Happens everytime I corner, the road doesn't matter
2.tyre....yea maybe...my pilot street is now 24k kms old
                    3.no uneven wears
                    4.no foot on brake
                    5.smooth entry and exit
Do you think the suspension could be the culprit?

Check the edge and side of your tyre. Got enough grip? 24K!! Post a pic if possible...

The moment I push it a bit too hard while in a corner the rear tyre steps out like I have fallen into a series of potholes. I am actually confused whether it's the suspension that the culprit here. Two days back i found d the allen key bolt attached to the bottom of the suspension to be loose and I tightened it. This has solved the issue to a bit but the stepping out is still there.

Rear stepping out can be caused by the following reasons. Worn wheel bearings, improperly torqued swingarm axle bolts, shock absorber bolts and cupped or worn tires. Usually it's either a swing arm bushings or worn wheel bearings that cause this wobble. From what I can observe, your tire still has good amount of tread left. Check your swing arm bushings and wheel bearings, and torque the swing arm and shock absorber bolts, nuts to the right torque. Keep us posted.

                              Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                              The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
