  • Parts replacement on the NS over very long term

A motorcycle is just a tool. Its longevity, performance and utilization depends exactly on how its used.

Clutch plates : every 25-70k kms
Sprockets : every 20-35k kms. (Sprocket teeth breaks off especially front)
Monoshock : once at 2.6L km (it was damaged probably when it was around 1.4L. Never bothered to change it)
Front shock : right side rod as it had got damaged due to constant changing of oil every 2k-5k kms
Full engine replacement : 15k kms (everything was replaced right to the coils)
Small Modifications were done at 15k which worked till 1.6L kms (headjob, new pistons, new cranks n shit)
Removed the mods as it was starting to develop issues and reverted to stock.
Piston rings changed every 40-50k kms
swing arm fixed at 2.55L kms due to a major accident.
Both alloy rims have lasted me around 2.55L kms. Did get numerous bends but never cracked until a dumper truck hit it.
Headlamp assy changed at 2.6L kms (it was too foggy and the toothpaste trick wasn't working anymore)
CDi unit has lasted till now.
Cables have no trust. They can go kaput anytime they wish.
The electrical harness have been causing issues for sometime now. Its around 1.3L kms old now.
    Battery changed thrice.
Odo changed thrice due to short circuit.
Handle T changed at 2.5L as it had developed a crack.
Rear axle changed at 1.9L kms. It just had chipped off from one end.
The bulbs thankfully never fused off. Their power just weakened over time.
Tail lamp started going kaput step by step from 2L kms
Fuse changed thrice due to short circuit.
Rear mudguard has a tendency to break off. Mine first broke off at around 20k and then fell off at 30k. The jugaad was hilarious.
Tires : Have used everything. Lost count. Right now using a Vee rubber + Sirac (F) combo as I was doing the World's most dangerous circuit. PS: tires are puncture resistant.
Handlebar Switches : All good except most of its buttons are broken over time.
Had a coil issue once at around 90k kms
The exhaust can is totally red & rusty. The bolt breaks easily.
Had a coolant-engine oil mixup issue at around 2L kms
The front visor rattles like a rattlesnake these days.
I did not get the parts post accident and hence these days the bike rattles like the "ghungroo ki awaaz" from bhoolbhulaiya :P

    Apart from these:

Servicing is done at every 7-9k kms: The bike has Motul 7100, Oil filter change, diaphragm change, Air filter change and just normal fuel. Speed/premium fuel is filled up occasionally at leisure (read: when my bank account has money)

Servicing done when there are flies in my bank account: Bajaj oil, Oil filter change, Air filer clean, carb cleaning.

Engine flushing has been done 5 times. Thrice during oil grade changes. Twice because it felt like its too dirty.

Feel free to ask any questions except about mods.

Thanks brother, you are very kind. Yes. But not on my NS yet, atleast not when I am on the plains. It does happen when I am mostly above 15k ft. like it happened at Mana La, Marsmik La, Khardung La etc.

The issue you are facing is probably due to one of the 3 reasons. Had faced it on my RTR.
          1. Air Intake is choked. Check for discrepancies. That includes the air that gets inside from the tank top.
          2. Check your carb. Get the diaphragm checked.
          3. CDi is kaput. (which I highly doubt)

Its a great tire. Works great on slush, riverbeds, dust, mountain edges, snow, rocks, twig laden forests, rocks, slippery rocks under waterfalls and tarmac.
Did do some cornering also with it, however I will not suggest anyone to do that. Here is a pic of the tire later.
It is sold as puncture resistant tire, but I would very well certify it to be a puncture proof tire.
It is really great and mainly meant for some serious offroading . It is very grippy on all surfaces I have traveled so far in last 8000kms.

The speed rating on this tire is of 210, a speed, NS can never reach.

However, an offroad combo with the Sirac at front, isn't something too bright. The Sirac wobbles bad above 130kmph on the tarmac and above 90 on the offroads division. It is also a bad performer in a couple foot deep slush and wet rocks. Doing a high speed with the Sirac(F) is a pending death wish.

So just tell the SVC guy to remove the tank and look for the pipe if it is getting chocked.

No. Ask him to hot tune it. And I don't think he resolved it. I still think your air intake is choked, unless your local mech fixed that by removing the tank and placing the pipe properly. PS: I have ridden my bike between 1k RPM set idle till 6k RPM set idle. I know its entire characteristic bandwidth .

Rather, you do it yourself. Switch on the bike or ride it around till your RPM hits the max. On your rightside, just above the engine, there is a shiny silver plate thing where the clutch is connected. Right there, you will see a big screw. Turn that. Its for idling.

                            can anyone help me here...
want to know the symptoms for incorrect AFR both at rich and lean?
Easy. Read your spark plugs. If the plug's burn/heat/smoke ring on the white porcelain is around 1mm in diameter all around the plug, the AFR is correct. Thicker the ring, richer the AFR. Thinner the ring, leaner the ratio. Enjoy!

You need a much bigger allen key. Only the places where they work on forks have the tool. Your roadside mech wont have it. Your SVC might have it. Check out your city's car/bike market. Birds of same feather, always flock together.

For bigger allen keys, some local mechanics here weld a bolt head to an L shaped rod ...nice jugaad, considering that bigger size keys cost a lot.

he set the idle rpm at 1.5 which earlier was 1.1
but after 10 to 15 km ride with traffic condition rpm get sets at 2.2 to 2.5 is it normal.
                                thanks in advance🤘
