Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Clutch plates do not transmit 100% at load. There will always be some slipping, say 1-2%. You are having around 3%. If with/without pillion difference increases, say 53/57kmph@4K, time to change clutch plates.Originally posted by Hari Krishnan R View PostIm having different speed readings @ particular rpm depening on load. Usually its 57kmph@4k rpm in 6th gear. But if im with a pillion it reduces to 55.
My odo-18k kms. Is this due to clutch wear???

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I am also facing the clutch slipping issue at higher gears like 5th and 6th and it gets worse after 5k rpm the clutch is slipping a hell lot and the bike struggles to reach even the 6k rpm mark.Originally posted by krixna View PostClutch plates do not transmit 100% at load. With pillion on board I have to accelerate a wee bit to overtake a vehicle. So what replacement needs to be done in the clutch assembly. Please suggest and the estimated cost also( if possible).

Your problem is very bad which requires clutch plate replacement asap. But first check the free play of clutch lever!! I have seen a few cases of clutch slipping because there was no free play!Originally posted by Ujjwal96 View PostI am also facing the clutch slipping issue at higher gears like 5th and 6th and it gets worse after 5k rpm the clutch is slipping a hell lot and the bike struggles to reach even the 6k rpm mark.

If free play is alright, say around 10 mm, you need to change the Friction Plates in the clutch assembly. No idea of cost bro, but they don't cost much, I'm sure. Couple of hours (maximum) for the mechanic to replace them.

clutch and friction plate set costs around 1300. asked in service center 2 months ago.Originally posted by Ujjwal96 View PostI am also facing the clutch slipping issue at higher gears like 5th and 6th and it gets worse after 5k rpm the clutch is slipping a hell lot and the bike struggles to reach even the 6k rpm mark.

btw, as we all know, engine works independent of clutch and rpm which we see on tacho is rpm of crank.
so if your bike is not reaching 6k mark then its problem of something else.
in clutch slip, engine revs as per acceleration but that energy is not transferred to GB or say rear wheel.
please check tacho on neutral and tell us.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hello people!
I've just heard from a friend that one of his friend in Tatanagar has bought a NS a week back. I've heard that the NS/AS 200 is no longer available in showrooms.
Just wanted to know if NS is still available for sale in showrooms!?

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Thanks for the correction. I missed that "struggles to reach 6K rpm" part and saw only the first part of what he said. Yeah, if it was clutch slipping, the engine rpm will rise but vehicle speed will notOriginally posted by powerShift View Postclutch and friction plate set costs around 1300. asked in service center 2 months ago.

if you think its problem with clutch plate, dont ride further, take the oil and oil filter out and check if it contains brownish fine powder or aluminium powder.
this kind of oil beeps entire engine. nothing lefts untouched by it, be it camshaft, block piston, GB, crank.
unfortunately if you find aluminium powder in oil, entire clutch assembly will need a replacement.
i am telling this here as most of the mechanic dont tell this to customer out of fear of loosing customer if they say few things also needs replacement along with plates. some mecahnic dont tell this as ruined up clutch hub will cause more damage to engine and they will get more money in entire engine rebuild.
