Finally my NS is 2 years old😀. Running to 10,000km. Changed to Motul 7100 after much deliberation. Now I know how wrong the Bajaj/HP oil is for this bike. Few points/inferences:
    1. The oil(+filter) changed was not at the Bajaj Workshop, so after filling precisely 1.2L of the Motul, it was clear that Bajaj guys overfill engine oil since the oil window showed oil at the max level and not full, as before.
    2. Midrange now feels smoother and engine, eager.
    3. I never seriously calculated the KMPL. But after deciding to do so, filled the tank upto brim, set the trip1 to Zero, and now it is about to reach ~450km without coming in Reserve. Is it really returning that high a mileage? Driving style 90% time 3-4k rpm. I changed the Bajaj oil until now at 2500-3000km. Bike is completely in stock trim.

Also, knowing the drain period of this oil is rated to 10,000km, can anybody tell me the realistic drain period(including occasional topups, if necessary)?

Chain sprocket changed. It's a tedious job. 3 guys were on the bike for an hour. The supervisor for my regular SVC was changed. I reached at 5. It closes at 6:30. The mechanics didn't wanna do it today. Normally I'd be asked to return. This sup made every one leave what they're doing and work on my bike. Was really pleased for once. Only downside, he didn't let me stay at the SVC bay. He's like it's not allowed. Anyone else ever restricted to stay in the svc bay?

The SVC guys usually ask to not in the bay where they work but one has every right to be there and check if they are doing the right thing or not.
If you don't mind can you post or pm the pic of full receipt including the dealer's name as I need to show it to the SVC in Gurgaon.

Realy? [emoji45] my friends here changed c&s on their duke, rc and ns between 10-13k kms.

May be we are bad at lubing and maintaining the chain.
I also have a habit of giving good throttle on first gear which can eat up the chain and sprocket.

I just thought that it should last more. I don't think people keep changing their c&s every 15k

Hello guys. I've recently ordered K&N R1100 airfilter for my 2014 model NS. So i'm planning to upjet my pilot and main jet as stock will give lean mixture. So any suggestion about the jet size as i've researched that 140 main jet is recommended for R1100 model but no idea about pilot jet.

Am at 20K Kms and the chain sprocket set is fine for me. Usually it should last somewhere above 25K + Kms

I am changing it at 18k. I clean and lube the chain at every 500 kms but i think it didn't last longer as I throttle more at high rpm.

Generally it should not wear less than 20K KMs. Using progressive clutch to smooth land the gear will help increase the life span, lubing is second thing. I don't lube other than at service. At 12K kms, i have not even had any slack adjustment yet.

Anyway, at 1500/-, its not a big deal though :-)

The gear shift from 1 to 2 is little tricky. 3 in 10 times I end up in N instead of 2. I change the gear in full clutch. Any adjustments to be done?
Disc will get warmer on normal braking and go hot on hard braking. For example, i drive 15-20mins less than 4km to my office, and I can feel my disc hot, but not hotter. Since no sound on free spinning, no bearing issue. Check your tyre pressure is correct, lower than required psi can also cause

Try riding few kms with rear brakes and see if your front disc still gets hot.

As for gears, 1-N-2 on NS is not smoother like Honda or Yami. Bajaj gearbox quality is a known factor. Motul 7100 increases this false hits more often than Bajaj oil, as per my observations. Try applying slight pressure before pulling clutch and then slot in the gear by pulling full clutch. It helped me. Rest gears are fine. I also have this problem, sometimes though slotted into gear 1, it would go back to neutral within few secs. I've used to this now though.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. I always get confused 😕 with this
Duke sprocket is not a direct fit. Do you claculations on gearingcommander. Then order it on irevs, they make good quality custom sprockets, but costly, about 5K+.

My advice, you buy it or not, get suggestions from irevs about your requirements.

Yes its true, after using Motul 7100, i have faced false shifts on my RS.
With Bajaj oil it was smooth no false shifts.

In many way Bajaj oil is better for both NS and RS.

Is that true. Then why many people here suggest motul over bajaj oil. I already face false neutral in my ns.My ns has done only 750kms

Negative here. Motul is much smoother for me. And I've not faced any false neutrals, both in Bajaj oil and Motul. The smoothness Motul 7100 offers is impressive and is clearly observable.

For me, Gear shifts to Neutral from 2nd instead of 1st, but this happens only at the end of the Oil's Life Span.
