Go for a 100/90W head light bulb. It will give more light than any hid or led.

Will that require any change in the existing electrical setup?

200ns is a excellent bike for guys who are looking to buy a power commuter/tourer. I previously owned hero honda hunk for around 9 years. Bought 200ns a month before. For me the 200ns is a great upgrade. I feel the direct connection of headlights help a lot in night ride, an extra 6th gear helps to ride the engine stress free. Gear shifts alone are not as smooth as in honda bikes for 1 N 2 alone. Fuel efficiency is good I get 40kms per litter in city traffic rides(used reserve to reserve method for 2 times). I wont ride hard since its a new bike. First service will cost you around 600 for engine oil, filter change, wash and chain adjustments. I suggest you to go for a test ride and make your decision. I don't know how the latest apache 200 is.

By now there are so many comparos out there. Check out motorbeam's videos on YouTube. They've got in depth reviews, comparos, reasons not to buy and all. In the end in comes down to personal preferences. There's not much difference between old and new NS

How is the refinement levels of the new NS200. Went through the thread, found people saying that it has vibrations at around 5k rpm. How does it fare at the redline. Is it as refined at the RTR200? Rode an RTR200, found it to be very refined almost as refined as the gixxer even though the RTR was not properly maintained and had dine 11k kms. I will get one of them and the only deciding factor is the refinement.

If your priority is refinement then go with the Japanese product.

HID will consume your battery and till now i haven't found any led headlamp that gives wow... feeling. It looks great looking at it but won't satisfy you on visibility. I've tried RTD 30W 3000 lumen LED but it was downgrade comparing to stock. So after using it for 5 months I'm back to stock. Try something above 4000 lumen.

Yes I considered gixxer at first but then my uncle has one, which was basically mine up until few months ago. Have driven it over 15k kms. over all type of terrain, so again buying a same bike would kill the excitement. Though I absolutely love the gixxer, the way it handles, the engine, there is not one flaw I find apart from the headlamp and the switch gear. Test drove a friends RTR200 which was badly maintained plus had done around 11k kms and I found it pretty refined. I don't like other japanese bikes like the hornet and my brother has a Fz. And the budget is restricted to 1.2lacs so R15, Fz25, CBR is out the equation. This leaves me with RTR and the NS. So which would be more refined, will pick the one that is more refined.

FZ25 is the most refined bike in it's segment. I have rode one of my friend's and i was amazed with the butter smooth ride and the smoothest suspension. Look if you can spend more as it's a one time investment. One more gear in it would have added to it's capabilities.

I don't know much about RTR but new NS Seems pretty refined. I almost swap my Dual Tone NS with it but my ODO reads 35K and with Motul 7100 it pretty much feels like new and maintenance is the key factor.
If you are going for ABS,FI+Pirelli Variant then hands down go for RTR but power wise NS wins cuz I've seen RTR struggles with midrange and top end power comparing to NS and struggle after 100kmph. Search for blog where people have done back to back test with these both.

Yes. You will have to buy a relay for it. I bought Thimson Headlamp Wiring Kit https://www.amazon.in/dp/B013E3V94A/..._roHjzbX6PXG7S . Also you will have to buy a new bulb.
                          Philips 12569EVB1 H4 Essential Vision Headlight (12V, 100/90W) https://www.amazon.in/dp/B00V3QVSNS/..._cqHjzb4XXP4M0

An expert only can help you to get it installed as the local mechanics probably avoid doing it. This wiring kit is for car so you will have to cut it from one end as it is made for two head lamps. You will have to connect it with the battery and the another end with the head light assembly. One wire would be for the earthing.

Trust me the visibility after changing it would do magic.

Okay dude thanks for your response. I just asked to be aware of it. I am already satisfied with the existing company setup.

Is the compartment under the pillion seat completely waterproof? Isn't it supposed to be? It's to keep documents or some such isn't it?

No it's not. The med kit goes there inside a plastic wrap. You could do the same with your documents
