They got oil big drums and they take oil from those drums. He did not tell me the brand nor i asked him as he told me to go for it in second service.

i think exactly the same ..same things were in my mind from yesterday .. my dad yesterday told me that i can have the duke but only if it gives 35+kmpl.. that gave me a very awkward feeling ..dont know if should be happy or sad ...now buying duke is easy for me but what if it gives only 30kmpl ? duke owners are not giving out the real world mileage figures .. they are just quoting the mileage displayed on the screen ..just imagine my feeling when my duke gives 30kmpl and ns gives 40+kmpl for similar power ..Originally posted by Newrider88 View PostSomeone told me if i buy from one state and register in other then i have to pay huge taxes eg current RT rate in HP is 3 % but my friend is saying if you buy from say Chandigarh or Delhi then you have to pay 8 % tax. Is it true ?
Regarding Duke
35 k is not only for feeling but for some other things also.
(1) Fuel injection (2) Grippy tyres so no need to change (3) Aluminum perimeter frame which makes Duke near 10 KG
lighter than 200 NS (4) Front brake is better in Duke (5) Top notch build quality best in india (6) No fairing version will be launched in future so you never feel cheated
(7) Better Instrument console { i personally don't like it, i think NS is better in this case } (8) 25 bhp power and 19 NM of torque with mileage equal to or sometimes even better than NS.
Now lets see the Dukish feel
Best roll on acceleration among indian bikes.
Slightly slow than CBR 250 in drag race { negligible difference }
Feel of riding a imported bike distinct from the crowd.
Some other points
People are already doing long long journeys with lot of luggage so those who say it can't cruise and luggage carrying capacity is limited are not correct. A slight seat modification can make it equal to nS in comfort so anyone interested in buying should go through both ownership threads and have a test ride of both. Last but not the least i have noticed something,
those who test ride NS say " it is good and pick is good " but those who test ride Duke say " it is

". Take your pick

No brother, people are quoting exact mileage. One rider had ridden his duke from Delhi to Jammu and he got 47.5 km/lt.Originally posted by Rohan200ns View Postduke owners are not giving out the real world mileage figures .. they are just quoting the mileage displayed on the screen ..
. You will easily get 30-35 in city riding depending on your riding style.
Ns is not giving 40 + mileage. Chinton already told us that the max mileage he got was 40 ( do remember that his bike is in run in period and he rides sanely )and if someone is getting 40 + then he must be riding his bike as an ordinary commuter. What is the purpose of buying such a bike if you don't ride it the way it should be ridden ?just imagine my feeling when my duke gives 30kmpl and ns gives 40+kmpl for similar power ..
One more thing, duke and NS are totally different machines. Don't compare the numbers on paper, Ns will not give you that rush and scary feel which a duke can give.
I am loving my NS

One thing that i can confirm for sure is that Duke doesn't give better mileage than NS..., two of my friends have recently got their Duke delivered and the actual real world mileage they got is ~29 AND ~32kmpl (highway+city combined). They reported that mileage displayed on the screen is too unrealistic!!!Originally posted by Rohan200ns View Posti think exactly the same ..same things were in my mind from yesterday .. my dad yesterday told me that i can have the duke but only if it gives 35+kmpl.. that gave me a very awkward feeling ..dont know if should be happy or sad ...now buying duke is easy for me but what if it gives only 30kmpl ? duke owners are not giving out the real world mileage figures .. they are just quoting the mileage displayed on the screen ..just imagine my feeling when my duke gives 30kmpl and ns gives 40+kmpl for similar power ..
btw... i am new to this forum and was following this ownership thread from the starting, as i am thinking of buying NS as soon as it's available in my city.
Got myself registered here to answer your question(looks like you are in a big dilemma...!!!)

Mileage - Duke vs 200 NS
So guys I have a question. Why is it that 200 NS should give more mileage than duke 200? With the same Engine base, same cubic capacity and engine running at same rpm, why is it that everyone claims the Pulsar 200 NS would give better mileage?
Infact, Duke is FI which is better for those concerned with mileage & its lighter as well.
So can someone throw light on this issue?Hero Honda Karizma
Royal Enfield Bullet
KTM Duke
