      • First Mileage Report

So guys I have the first Mileage details for my NS.

        And its 35.

Now the next question will be the detailed numbers, so before you ask, here goes...

My filled up the tank full when my odo was 63 Km.
Yesterday filled up the tank full again. The odo read 342 and the petrol meter reading read 7.9 Litres.

        So mileage = (342-63)/7.9
        = 35.3

I have been mainly riding in the city and its been a lot of start-stop riding. So I guess, 35 is ok before the first service.

Now here is the strange thing, the fuel indicator has 8 bars. I was just down 3 bars and my tank was 2/3rds empty?!
This means either the fuel indicator bars are highly disproportionate or the petrol pump guy fleeced me.

Anyways, should get the first service done by this weekend. Hope the mileage improves thereafter.

Digital fuel meter are never accurate. Even in cars with tank capacities of 30-40 lts, it is not totally accuratte. And on a bike with a tank capacity of 10-12 ltrs the variations in reading are more obvious. This is true for all vehicles with digital fuel meters.

If you have any doubt over the honestly of the petrol pump (which according to me everyone should), try filling up in a Shell Petrol pump. I do not have any confidence over the honestly of other petrol pumps, the attendents are always ready to cheat you.

thats good mileage .. its better than duke .. my friend's duke gives him 25-30kmpl .. even bajaj claim that the mileage of ns will b around 15% higher than duke ..
did u notice any drop in the coolant level ?
can you feel any heat near your legs while riding ?
do you get to know when the radiator turns itself on ?

They didn't accept the color preference , they said we can choose the color when they get the bikes. Did you get a chance to go with color preference ? Anyways, Ill go with black.

The sales guy told me that they will get the test ride bikes by 10th July, and they will commit the deliveries form then on. I got to visit the Pro-biking too, the guy there also told that they will get 200 NS for display by early next month.

Right. I have the best experience at the Shell bunks. Just the other day I ran my bike almost till empty and it accepted only just a bit over 18ltrs at the Shell bunk. Whereas when I used to fill it at other bunks, namely Indianoil, the meter reading would touch almost 20ltrs.

                      hi rocketjack
one of my friend working in pune had taken yellow one and he said he got a mileage of 46.4 on highway
at a stretch he drives 40-45 kms and 90kms/day on highway

                      • What about the claimed mileage of 58kmpl ? So much difference from the claimed value ? I thought we would get a 40+ in whatever conditions.

Clearly means that claimed fuel efficiency is largely exaggerated. Someone claiming 40-45 on highway exposes it.

As a matter of fact, petrol at shell is cheaper by 2 rupees (in bangalore).

Yeah.. me too was expecting 40+ in mixed riding conditions. Let's hear from other owners too.

                              • I own a duke and to be honest i get fe off 30 in city with very heavy throttle and 36 on highway with 80-120kmoh.so on pulsar which has same engine block minus the head it should be almost similar.now that 58 claimed by bajaj might be true if u ride at 55 kmph.coz even the duke shows amazing fe of 58-60 if ridden with a steady hand.but in real world and if u like ripping dont expect more than 40 from pulsar.
