  • @annydhanya : Rajiv Bajaj mentioned Andhra, TN, Kerala & Gujarat. He did not mention Karnataka but looking at the size of the market in Karnataka i they would be launching it in July itself. This is my personal opinion and not mentioned by Mr. Bajaj.

@leodj29 : Yes LEODJ my video was very shaky and was a little dark. Will soon post new pics + new video.

Thanks a lot for uploading the video.

A video of you riding the bike would be great as well.

      • nice to see yellow ns ..

things i got to know from this video :-

        - the motor is very fast in building up revs and losing revs ( similar to duke )
        - the engine still has that pulsar characteristic whining sound in the background while revving .. u dont get that sound in any of the honda and yamaha bikes
        - why is it idling in 1500rpm ? isnt it supposed to idle at 1100rpm ?
        - exhaust sound has no bass ..similar to duke
        - i dont think that the rear tyre hugger is doing its job well
        - the guard near the radiator is an accessory ?

Higher compression ratio will make more engine braking. So, revs would build up easily & will come down fast too wrt lower compression ratio bikes like 220.

                Monsoons my friend.

Also the rear hugger is there to prevent mud spalsh to the rider's/pillion's back but due to the split design, it won't stop the mud from splling over to the inner hugger which protects the monoshock.

That's a concession one will have to make for the split design else the other option would be to have a full cover (with a faux split shape) like that of the R15 V2.0 or the one which initially used to come on the P135LS.

That's a matter of perspective and personal taste. I personally like the BMW R1200GS inspired rear hugger on the P200NS. By the way both bikes (Pulsar 200NS and BMW R1200GS) have been designed by the same designer..!!

Similar singled sided rear hugger can also be found on the Ducati Multistrada and the Diavel.

At least on the P200NS one has the option to remove the rear hugger on the P200NS (a la Track Bike) for that tricked out look. On the R15 one has to physically saw off the hugger in half to do that.

                          • Tyre size/profile - P200 NS (MRF Found)

By default, P 200 NS comes with Eurogrip tyres. I happened to go through CBR 150 R's specs (I don't know why and how I went there) and found that these two babies share the same tyre profile, 100/80 (or 70) - Front and 130/70 (or 80) - Rear.

Both are tubeless, but the ones on CBR 150 R are MRF. So by any chance, if someone would like to switch to MRFs for better grip (if they happen to provide) from Eurogrip, then TA-DA, I just gave a solution. But, with the way our first batch of owners are riding and thanks to the unkind monsoon, they wouldn't be changing the tyres in say next 2-3 years.

NOTE : I know many of you must have noticed it before me, but I guess I am the first one to point it out..
                            Regards,
                            Akash Yadav

I second you. I'm thinking of removing the tyre hugger as soon as I get the bike delivered, which should be as simple as removing a few nuts & bolts. However, it is very tough to do the same with R15, which would also involve waste of more time, money and effort. Full marks for P200NS on that!

A bike with a battery current above 6 amperes (the NS is 8 amperes) and 55/60 W headlights needs to idle higher so that the battery does not loose charge and therefore sustains a longer lifespan, and also the engine redlines at 10k rpm and is liquid cooled which means managing not only the flow of oil but also that of the coolant so 1.5k is more than ok for idling.

                                Ride safe.
                                Cheers.
