Was noting down my revs per kmph the other day. This is what I observed:

    3,000 rpm = 42 kmph
4,000 rpm = 56 kmph (Not crossing 4k yet, still running in)

That works out to around 14 kmph per every 1,000 rpm. This is with a slightly smaller diameter front tyre and a larger diameter rear tyre though, which my poor math skills has worked out to around roughly 3% increase in meter reading over a bike with stock tyres.

Would anybody be able to do a similar check and post here? I'm curious to know about the stock figures. All in the name of science.

Mine does 58 kmph at 4k rpm. Add 15 kmph for every 1k rpm. Checked it many times. I am 4.6k km on odo. It did 57 kmph at 4k initially.

I observed it today and at 6.5 to 7k rpm in 6th gear, I was touching around 95-100.
I am still on stocks though and have done around 15k kms.

That's strange, I was expecting my speedometer to be reading higher than stock.

Speaks of how accurate these speedometers are if there's this much variation even between stock tyre shod bikes.

Hello everyone, a quick review of my first service.

-First service of 200ns, done at Dewan Bajaj service center in chattarpur, Delhi with 690 KMs run in.

-Called on monday to book a slot for Wednesday morning as tuesday is off for bajaj, but when I reached at 9 30 this morning, turns out the whole process of booking a slot is useless. It's all on first come first serve basis. They took the bike in as soon as i reached as i was the first one there, prepared a list of things that will be part of this service.

-Was fortunate to get the most experienced of the mechanic to work on my bike. He was nice, knowledgeable and had a teaching attitude. I kept asking him questions and he very patiently answered them as he continued to work on the bike. The reason i felt he was the most experienced of the lot there, was that other mechanics kept asking him questions on parts and other service related queries and he helped them and answered their queries promptly.

-The list of things done in the first service are: oil change, oil filter change, air filter cleaning, chain cleaning, tightening and lubrication, coolant top-up, rear disc re-alignment to remove the screetch-scratch sound and washing. I also got Teflon coating done (do not know about its effectiveness in keeping the bike fade-resistant, but is a psychological relief of some sort I guess.)

-The biggest hindrance in the process of service is the lack of center stand. I had to help the mechanic in tilting the bike on side stand many times, which put unwanted weight on the side stand and made the service process painful. Have ordered for a center stand and will be getting it installed soon.

-Although I tried to persuade the mechanic to put Motul oil, he kept on insisting on using only bajaj oil, so gave up after a point. Decided to run with some advices I read on this thread about switching oil after 2k KMs. Will run bajaj till then. After the oil change, the bike seems to be running smooth and gear shifts have smoothened out as well. I'm sure it's better with Motul, but it's nothing I can't live with.

-Although the manual said that the CO% should be checked at the first service, I wasn't sure if it's required or not, as my bike hasn't shown any sign of running rich or lean, and has been running properly on factory settings of the carb and afr. Decided to get it checked next time.

-The service took 1 hour to finish, 20 mins for washing process and 25 mins for Teflon coating. For 350 bucks they offered 3 coatings over the period of next year. Felt it's worth it to get it done any way.

-During the whole process I was by the bike, never let it out of my sight. Insisted on checking on everything getting done, as a result I was able to keep the mechanic from not being borrowed for other bikes, as I was standing to get the service done. It was an educational day, learnt a lot many things and will surely be using this knowledge in future.

Would be happy to answer any questions!

No need to be this specific. Just look for chain slackness videos and follow that.
Or else simple is get it done at any road side mech, 2 min job and 10rs

HI guys - my 200 NS, would like to share an experience with you guys, 2 days back the coolant level in my bike began dropping after every top up in hours, i went to the service centre and to my shock there was a oil seal leakage issue, because of which the coolant had leaked into the engine compartment, it was complete white sludge formation, I asked the service centre how this can happen, i had just done a service a few days back, the replied they have faced such issues with some bikes and notified bajaj, and were advised to change the particular oil seal at abot 20000 kms. So guys if your bike had done between 18-20 k KMS in your next service insists on getting that oil seal changed, I currently dont know what further damage could have taken place in my engine, Service centre just flushed with 2 round of oil. changed oil filter and topped up engine oil and replaced the entire coolant as well..

                            Be cautitious...

                            Regards

FINALLY !!! Someone got this up. I had this issue during last summer... u guys might not even believe that the bike ran for more than a mnth w/o coolant... to my surprise always use to switch off... that it... After 2-3 min I start n then again same issue... I thought this is because of excessive heat... but one fine day I checked coolant box was empty. Went to serv station. They checked and the oil seal at the water pump got league. Changed n its fine now... I did 3 oil replacements...each at 500 kms... but im so delighted wiyh the fact that ktm has really made this machine with hell lot of whatever u call it.... amazing. .. no coolant for a mnth. My air filter had all that extra mix of oil n water mixed.. sitting there....still the bike never complaint. Wow... ....... To you mate.... open up the air filter cover.... remove the filter. .. remove that thin plate of metal and check if nothing is there as in my case as I said the mix was lying there...

FYI, BAL made the bike sharing just a few components from KTM.
