Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Currently running on crap Bajaj oil. Got it changed on 1st servicing at 740 kms exactly a week back. Now I am 983 kms on odo. Yeah must be the engine oil too. I did not have this problem when the bike was brand new. But as I grabbed more kms this issue occured. Also after oil was changed on 1st servicing I did not get this problem. But from the past few days this problem again crept in. Sheesh! What a oil it is claiming to have 10000 kms of drain interval. My earlier bike 220 ran much better in castrol than bajaj crap oil. Will change the oil soon. Sorry no motul available here. What other oils can I go for? I want to use a mineral oil till 2000 kms. After that semi synth and fully synth.Originally posted by broken87 View Post

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Bajaj manual clearly says that using any oil except Bajaj recommended ones will void warranty.
How strictly is this followed by bajaj? Has anyone faced warranty related issues because of motul oil?

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Believe me out here where I service they just tick the option of used bajaj engine oil before even the bike is handed to the servicing mechanics. Well who cares. Use that oil for 500 kms. Drain it. Use motul.Originally posted by Radeon View PostBajaj manual clearly says that using any oil except Bajaj recommended ones will void warranty.

Alao I remember of one instance few years back when I went for 2nd servicing on my pulsar 220 to a different ASc. The ASC had no bajaj oil so poured veedol oil. And again that guy ticked the option stating used bajaj oil. Even on the service manual of the 220 it is stated to use bajaj oil but on the free and paid servicing slips there is another option where it is stated to write what engine oil poured if bajaj oil is not in stock of similar grade. Confusing

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
They say recommended grade, not brand. Any 20w50 should be okay, I suggest Motul 5100 15w50.
sauravdyakuza the problem you are facing is because at first service the mechanic did not adjust the clutch properly. Ask him to adjust it properly, the reason you did not face that problem earlier was because it was set perfectly at factory and the mechanic at first service screwed it up. Word of advise, never let those mechanics touch your carburetor.I am back!

Yeah thanks. Will not even let service center guys touch carb. But I remember the service center guy poured some oil with an oil can on the clutch cable.Originally posted by Cleaner View PostThey say recommended grade, not brand. Any 20w50 should be okay, I suggest Motul 5100 15w50.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I had my rear running until 22k kms and the front is still stock.Originally posted by spknair View PostI don't know anything technical. Maybe I had got a softer compound tire, I think.
I had posted my tire picture; months ago. @6-7K mileage. You remember?
more than 80% worn-out condition.
Just 53 kms short of 24kms.
Had changed the rear to TVS ATT 230.
I believe even the newer P220 are getting eurogrip as stock.
That wearing out in before 10k kms is strange!!!

My spark plugs are the same as yours but I have clocked 9000 kms.Originally posted by deep007 View PostGuys my bike did 3300km and still the 2 spark plug looking stock.what would be the reason and i get 48kmpl mileage while riding within 50 kmph speed and getting 40 at 80kmph speed

It means that the carburetor is working fine and it has a correct air to fuel ratio as a result you are getting good average.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hey bro just went to my local mechanic. He said that the clutch was loose enough as required. He asked me to clean the chain and lube it again . Also he asked me to open the cover of the front sprocket and also clean it. Well there was a lot of muck there Did what he said and now just came after a short ride. Everything seems fine now. No squeaks when I drag the bike without running the engine and no hard upshifts and gear slips when downshifting. Lets see if these problem occurs again today when I go for a ride today evening. Now I know what the bloody ASC guy lubed the chain with(USED/BURNT ENGINE OIL):banghead:Originally posted by Cleaner View PostThey say recommended grade, not brand. Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
All the local mechanics do that, they ask you to clean and adjust the chain all the time in order to get a couple of bucks. SVCs in Jorhat lubricate the chain with new SAE90 gear oil. It could be that your mechanic adjusted the clutch without you noticing (It only takes me 10 seconds to do that). Your chain could have been overly tight too, but I doubted it earlier as if it was tight, the chain would loosen after doing all that riding since first service.Originally posted by sauravdyakuza View PostHey bro just went to my local mechanic. The above article and video might help.
BTW I don't think cleaning the chain religiously on a naked chain bike is worth something, no matter what you do, the chain would only last 15K kms at best. Just clean it with Water supply water with that rubber hose, much like how people water their garden. Let the chain dry and then lubricate with 90 weight gear oil. A bottle of SAE 90 gear oil should only cost you around 100 rupees.I am back!

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
My local mechanic asked me to clean the chain myself and lube it. Well he worked at bajaj service centre tinsukia for 5 years and 2 years ago opened his own shop. Yeah he got a spanner and was fiddling with the clutch and said if gear slips happen again then to clean the chain and lube it again. And also during first servicing chain was set too tight. No freeplay and I got the squeak and noises from the chain. My local mechanic made the chain a bit loose after I told him the issue. Well I trust this guy as he was the one who kept my bike in top notch condition whenever I went with a problem. Yeah even he used sae 90 gear oil during my 220 days.Originally posted by Cleaner View PostAll the local mechanics do that, they ask you to clean and adjust the chain all the time in order to get a couple of bucks.
