    Test Ride !

Saturday Took the Test Ride of GT250R [Bangalore]
Here is the my impression of the same

    Good:

    1. seat is good and comfort and the legs holds the tank firmly and there is no stress on the body [due to its size]
    2. very good options for the tall persons
    3. Engine is butter smooth throughout the rev range
    4. Absolutely 0 vibrations till 9500 rmp [that's the max i tried] which is very very good
    5. awesome exhaust note best in India till 600CC bikes and note changes after 7500rmp and above it sounds even cool
    6. paint quality, component quality is good and no vibes from any body parts in any rpm
    7. really big bike
    8. acceleration is pretty quickly reaches the top rpm, eventhough u won't feel the rush of speed [like RX or Duke] but digits in speedo will climb very quickly and u reach the peak rpm, very linear rise in power and acceleration.
    9. very stable on road and better handler compare to other bikes in its class.
    10. Ride quality is superb , u won;t feel the pathholes or bumps on road , +1 to the suspension.
    11. Good brakes
    12. headlights are good in power and spread

    Bad:

    1. im 5.7 feet height and my legs just touches the ground [really mean it], so if your less than 5'7'' then u might find it difficult to put both your legs on ground
    2. there is very dull 2 sec acceleration in initial pickup, you might feel it like 50cc bike in first 2 sec afterwards careful it will surges rapidly, this bike is no way near to signal light drag racing bike [this is boon for guys like me m who hates initial high power pick up's i ended many time cursing my R15 due to it].
    3. fit and finish not like ninja but its not bad either.
    4. U-Turn is headache its like turning those 90's Tipper lorries without power staring,..really need huge space for it
    5. you might need to do excersize for your wrists and forearms if planning to ride in traffic, if your R15 user in the past then it will give some comfort but switching from any other bike .. you might need more time to adjust to its riding position.
    6. weight will be visible in stop and go traffic and there is no way u can squeeze it in gaps like other bikes.
    7. Medium Horn.
    8. can't twist like R15 in corners , you might need lot of practice [due to its weight].
    9. as mentioned in PTR review, the side stand and sear cover are the areas needs improvements [difficult to deploy side stand, and loose seat cover/skin].

PS: this is my personal experience, take a TD and share your views, which might differ [just slightly]

That's a useful review there Nagoo. Thanks!

And hey, what about engine heating issue? Did you experience engine heating? You test drove it in traffic or on highway?

Finally, so, are you going for it or not? :-)

Anybody from Delhi/NCR knows whether the bike has arrived here or not?

I have done the TD in city , but can't comment on heat [ride lasted short], as per review it doesn't heat up even in summer city traffic. and i believe it so, just check the bike you will come to know why, the fairing is not like other bike fairing where it tightly covers the engine , here the fairing has enough gaps to let air circulate , this is also boon and also bane for this bike , it helps to avoid engine heat up at one hand and the other it gives less fit and finish.

about my purchase , hmm.. my requirements are something different from others and i have very specific characters which i would like in the bike. will explain it in details very soon, and YES i will be making payment in couple of days to get GT250R. [sad thing is the queue is very big in B'lore its about 40 confirmed booking but only 10 bikes arriving before 15th indepence day]

you said, the headlights are good, your test ride was in day or night ?? just curious..

and nobody has posted any pic of headlight beam spread and throw, not even of GT650R, so i request you to please post a few pictures for headlight illumination.

and congrats in advance, and yes, will be waiting for pics.

Yes, drove it with headlights on, more over specifically checked the headlight and horn in daylight [standstill].

spread is lil narrow but covers good length and illumination is very good even for low beam.

remember both are projector lights high and low beam, you can imagine P220 spread and coverage , its similar , but the person in showroom said its 55w something.

it might be around 3.45L to 3.48L ask vijit he got Ninja just a week back.

all i can say is there is no commonality b/w these two bikes , except both have 250cc engine. rest is totally different in terms how they deliver power/style/purpose/usability/maintanance/road presence/economy of running.

so you define your requirements and according to that you choose which comes nearest to your requirements.

anyone from kolkata got delivery ?i saw one riding it on em bypass
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
                              #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.
