till 2nd service everything was in good condition
but for 3rd servicing when SC guys open Battery side it was all gone by Acid as I am from Mumbai RUST got UP so Fast Than I was thinking since then I am taking care of my main RTR 180 frame & Battery side all metal parts repainting them every 6 months now I am about to book Star City in next Few Days (Green or Sliver Stickers Confused Lets see) Its very interesting that everybody is talking the same issue, What i am gonna do is simple the moment you get you hand on Brand Bike Replace the battery with AMRON Maintenance free battery from proper authorized dealer, (check on there website for your best matching type) for Star City 2012 it's 12 Volts & just learn how they fix new battery & remove your Old One Next time when you visit the showroom Replace battery given by them & enter the service center, so you simply maintain your Warranty & don't harm your bike chassis with those stupid battery problems.this is the only way I think we can do to save frame, colour, Chassis, RUST, & problems of some white white things on battery in Monsoon Season.Or Else Be Good Friend With Garage Guy give some 50-100 rs. for chai paani

Thank you I hope this will help need to recheck with service guy if you change the battery as soon as you come out of showroom & use its charge as portable home charger for mobile HIHIHIHIHIH

BTW: do you have mobile charging point behind your Front Left Indicator?
    IF YES PLS UPLOAD PHOTOS
its good thing to have mobile charger on BIKE

    Take Care Ride Safe
oh I suggest you go for the green color, Gray/silver is like a black and white version of the green one, didn't excite me when i saw that bike and also check the red and white combination. I test rode that when i went to the showroom and it literally dragged me towards it. Will be an eye catcher for the first few years!
Regarding the battery: I'm not gonna change it now coz its new and also i don't have the budget . But definitely after a year or two when this ones gone i'll change it to a maintenance free battery Now i have to open up the battery cover and clean, inspect it every other day, not a problem for me but still it is inconvenient!
Regarding the mobile charger: When TVS brought out the 2011 version of Star city they had a mobile charger socket connected to them behind the front left indicators. Its just a cigarette lighter socket type where you can plug in your cell phone charger and charge it on the go! Only on the GO. People used it when the engine was off and had issues with their battery. Due to this when they introduced the 2012 Star city they intentionally removed this feature - this was the explanation they sales manager gave me when i asked him about the charger socket on the previous models of Star city and it sounds reasonable. I really don't need a mobile phone charger in my bike but i admit it will be a useful feature. funny thing is the users manual i got with that bike has got the info about using the charger socket and first day when i got the bike i was searching for that socket everywhere
Note: 2012 Star City doesn't come with a Mobile phone charger socket and the pics/info you see on the websites or other reviews are probably about the older version of Star city's

Congrats on your purchase Well its your choice, choose a color that you like Since its a small capacity commuter bike the color doesn't matter (i think). Be friendly with the dealer and ask for the documents like - Invoice, Road tax receipt, Temporary registration certificate and the insurance certificate and users manual, Check the bike thoroughly for scratches. Open battery cover and check the battery for the fluid level, Check the electricals also. All this won't be a problem, if your dealer is good they'll do the PDI well. Also make sure that you write the temporary registration number with a marker on your number plate and make sure you ride the bike only in that registration circle till you get the permanent one.
Regarding the mileage: Initial 1000 kms is crucial for the bikes performance in the long run. Stay below 50 till 500 and Try and stay below 50 after 500 mostly you'll go to 60 and you'll never know, but that should not be done always. I assure you that you'll get 70-75kmpl for a 70% highway and 30% city ride during the run in period.

Today on my way to the city my worst fear "A puncture" happened . I knew it was gonna happen someday i was complaining about the fast drop in the tire pressure to the SC guys and they said it was ok but today it happened! luckily i had a mobile puncture repair guy's number and i called him up came there in a few minutes and opened my back tire for the first time in front of me. I saw the tire tube and that guy said its got a manufacturing defect its a faulty tube, nothing wrong with the valves but the tube material seems to be really thin (he says). Also told me that the stock tires and tubes all the companies provide suck big time! I knew TVS tires sucks but never thought it was this bad. Also he said that if i gave back the tube without mending the puncture i'd get a replacement under warranty, But i had no time and a new branded tube costs 250 or so, so i left it. I'm planning to keep the tires and later change it to MRF but soon i'll be changing those stock tubes! Even the front tube is fault but not bad compared to the back one.
I've a question which brand tire tubes should i buy?
Mention some reputed tire tube brands.
            Specs for the stock tires are : Back tire - 3.00 * 17 - 6ply rating
            Front tire - 2.75* 17 - 4 ply rating
and what is this ply rating?

Okay when you switch please let me know the cost alright? and also ask about tire tubes Accessories? I don't know I paid an all inclusive price. The vehicle of course, the mirrors, saree stand and they did some kinda buffing before they handed over the bike to me, I wanted an extended warranty but since its got 5 year warranty i guess there's no point in paying extra.

Gave the bike for its second service yesterday will get it on monday at 12:30pm. Being with me for the past two months now i realize how hard it is to live without it The purpose it serves, the ease it provides to reach from A to B , I'm talking too much, for a guy who just owned a 110cc for two months will update after i get the bike back!

Actually the SC guys called me at 5 in the evening that day ( saturday) and I was sleeping. I guess they'd have called to tell me that the service's done and i can collect the bike! I saw the missed call at 6pm and the SC closes at 5:30 bad luck! and today's Sunday, its off.

Got the bike after the second service cost Rs 315, Engine/Gear oil changed, And also lubed the chain. There's a lot of difference now i can really feel it. The clutch is smooth, gear shift are much quiet now and i just have to tap it with my heel and toe the pick up and acceleration increased. Also noticed a slight variation in the mileage (decrease) not sure though will have to check to conform!

Any reason why you have opted star city and not the star sports. Is it because its 110 cc (10 cc more than sports) or is there any other reason. Ash, was there any reason for not considering star sports?

No! I chose Star city coz i found it better that Star sports for its power and yeah that 10cc extra. Both vehicles are the same in the case of handling, but sports gives you a slight more mileage than the star city, The cost of Star sports is 48700 on road and Star city is 50600 2k difference is acceptable, advantages of star city is you get more color options to choose and that 8bhp the engine produces is enough to make you happy on a highway are you planning to buy one?
