    Hello,
I'm new to biking and wanted a safe vehicle to learn and to commute. I was in love with the new R15 V2 but my usage and knowledge about biking was too low I ended up buying a TVS Star City 110 to commute. I searched for Star city threads before buying the bike and unfortunately didn't find any! So here I am sharing my experience about the new Star city 110. I got my bike on 2nd July. Paid the cash and got the bike in the evening. I had no idea how to ride the bike still i managed to ride 26kms to my home from the showroom. I have no idea how the components of that bike work! But still i ride it as the guy advised from the showroom. Slow and steady acceleration smooth gear shifts etc. He also told to keep the speed under 50kmph for the first 1000kms. I managed to keep it till 47 48 49! . and also i found it in the Owners manual.

So About the bike. I kinda like it.
The cost will come around 50600 on road in Cochin! and if you pay full amount by cash you'll get some reduction.

Features of 2010 TVS Star City 110
    Stylish Graphics, Dual Tone colors
Cvti Engine (I don't know what that means)
    Electric Start,
2 way adjustable rear shock absorbers,
    Clear indicators,
    Contoured Visor,

    Engine:
    4 stroke, 109.7cc
    Max Power:
    6.1kw @ 7500rpm
    Max Torque:
    8.1nm @ 5000rpm
    Transmission:
4 speed constant mesh. (That first gear is useless or maybe i don't know how to use it)

There are 11 free services and you only need to pay for the oil, filter etc. NO labor charges. I gave my bike for its first service today and once i get it back I'll post a pic.

Ride quality is okay, though when there's a pillion I get scared and it feels like uncontrollable. But the bike's happy when ridden alone.

Mileage: I don't know i just fill it and ride. I'll check after my first service. The tank capacity is 16 liters and 2.5 liter reserve. The company says 83.9kmpl but without hesitation it gives 70approx.

Its got the ordinary electrolyte battery (Exide). And the headlamps are powerful. Good for night commuting. Horn's working, Clear indicators look good.

One thing the electric start work only when its in neutral! That's annoying.

So I'll get the bike today and will include more info in the future posts and also about the service standard!
    Thank you!

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

      well....11 free services...huh??
about the electric start when you are in gear ,press the clutch lever, the electric start will work.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

I know right! and it includes 5 year warranty @Sayank10 and @yellowspunk. and I got the same green and white combination, And about the 11 free services you'll have to pay for the oil, chain lubricant and other spares. Only labor charges are free! Got my bike after the first service today paid Rs. 315 includes oil/gear oil change and they also did something to the brakes. When i got the bike i really had to pull and push both brakes to stop the vehicle but now it works just fine! Happy with TVS right now. Pics attached.

Funny thing is , it actuall starts only in neutral....

@Ash_win: congrats for the purchase. I have a 2006 model Starcity, which my brother is riding now a days.total around 87K kms covered. Its a good bike.Ultra reliable. i am very happy with it.
Milage is still around 65 kmpl.
I should tell you about 2 cons of the bike-
1.It handls quite badly among all the 100CCs.(though that would never be a problem, until you race ).
2.The Pick-up, compared to other 100 CCs ,with a pillion is worst.

Never miss a single service, and create a good rappo with the service people.
              Happy commuting.

Happy that I've completed 1000 kms yesterday. The bike is still smooth! There's no rain here in Cochin so the bike's still clean! Looks like no ones interested in this thread! Everyone's behind the KTM,200NS. Anyways will keep posting about the Tvs Star City 110

                    whats the mileage?
seems few <125cc bike threads are springing up and folks for a no-nonsense commuter bike would sure find this interesting!
Our bikes can go from 0 - Stupid in less than "I wonder if this will be a good idea"

The mileage i get when riding solo with correct tire pressure and with occasional racy starts and sudden throttle is around 70-75kmpl.
But with a pillion it really goes down. Remember last time when i checked i got only 60kmpl with a pillion.

if you are getting a steady mileage of 65-70 kmpl that is good.well i am getting a steady mileage of 58 kmpl on my p135,but goes down with pillion, hard ripping.
