Washed my bike today with Motomax car shampoo.. WOW! less effort and more results motomax is great! Noticed something there's rust on many places not big ones just small patches, A spot on chain case, then rusty nuts and bolts and also the exhaust pipe, the beginning part of the pipe that's connected to the engine block. Its monsoon here and second service is over but still i think it was a waste, there's dirt all over the bike! I'm worried what should i do? And also another thing what should i do to the chain? should i lube it? Next service is on or before 5000 kms. I asked the head mechanic at SC and he said i dont have to do anything as its got a chain cover! should i lube it? if yes how? i can see a little bit of the chain from the other side of the case or through that hole which is closed with a rubber stopper! Help please ...

Rust is a big issue with our low quality bikes just keep it cleaned and lubed/painted (whatever applicable)
            .
About chain, clean it and lube it.
            Go through http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/do-yours...orn-chain.html
            or
get a mechanic (not svc one) and tell him to clean & lube the chain.
            You'll love the effect

              my Star City

              Hello all,
I got my delivery on 5th of sep 2012
But some I got my hands on bike after 3 days ( parked @ my brothers place I was out for some office work)
              Straight to the point
              Awesome bike
Gives me 83.40 kmpl (pls see the attached photo of fuel consumption)
As of now bike is in Running in period so I can't go beyond 50 kmph I think that's why it's giving 80+ kmpl (riding highway 80% + city 20%) if I am rising in full city still it gives me 75+,
I am really happy with this bike breaking is very good, it's light weight, with pillion it's gives me 68+ in city and on highway riding 72+
Plastic quality is also good for panels indicators, but for switched it could have been better. Green Colour looks good riding position is it's very comfortable, no vibrations to handle bar, front light is just awesome at night riding if you want Better than this than royal enfield or projector is the option. Rest is simple and sweet. For me horn is too harsh, pillion rider comfort is also very good after panic breaking pillion doesn't slide to your back like most of the step seat bikes. (no girl friend here) I am really happy with my choice and looking forward to change battery and 1st service will post some more details about bike in next post (enjoy photos) thank you ride safe

Congrats dude.Let me tell you,the fuel economy would remain constant at around 65 kmpl even after years.Mine is 6 years old and done around 80K kms(Speedo gona kaput after 70K kms in a major accident).
One query, can the StaR city's handle bars be replaced by that of the TVS Sport's(I am getting bored of the commuterish sitting position)?

                        1st service

                        Odo 598
                        Given for 1st service
In cold start engine is normal but when I put 1st gear hiccups service mech says needs some clutch setting
It's shouldn't be too much of problem. Pocket is too good, gives 78 FE
Thanks will update soon as I ride after 1st servicing thanks rise safe

Happens to my bike too, though i use kick start on cold mornings, I keep it idling for a minute or two. Or else i face the same hiccup problem as yours, Don't have this problem for the rest of the day when sun's up and its warm! I know its really easy on the pocket, Bought a wego last week, it gives near to 40 that's all!

Hey, i am planning to remove the saree guard! No girls will be getting on my bike (at least not in this bike). So what do you suggest? should i remove it? will removing it make noticeable difference in mileage ? and also the crash guard? I'm planning to get rid of that too! any suggestions/opinions?

Don't do it, they are meant for your protection and not for show./looks. Your bike is hardly 100kg.if 2kg is removed don't think you get more mileage . Already you get 70+.Dil manje more is stupid ad. Indian culture is be contented with what God has given.
