Thumbs up! I wont be removing the crash guard then! But the saree guard? i don't really need it on my bike, and its easier to clean the alloys, chain case etc. without it!

3400kms on the odo, Washed the bike today also cleaned the chain, lubed and greased it. Tvs is showing its true colors now! the noise levels have gone up not much of a problem at the beginning , but after a couple of kms i can hear a clinking sound from the head of the engine block. only when i rev a bit hard! The overall smoothness have gone, next service at 5500-6000kms!

Change the oil immediately. Don't use mineral oils for more than 1500 kms, Manuals will tell diff. when you start to feel the roughness change the oil.

Clinking can be the tappet noise or get the valve clearance checked immediately .Hope you warm up the engine before riding. Stitch in time saves nine.

4013kms on the odo.I dont ride it now as much as i did, Last 20kms i could hear a slight noise from the chain, Today gave it a thorough wash opened chain case cleaned the chain with diesel, lubed with tru spary and some lithium grease. Its perfect now, No noise It badly needs a service, have to adjust clutch free play, clean those drum brakes etc waiting for next service at 5500-6000kms

Get a semi synthetic oil for your bike.it gives more FE and more engine life, although tvs is poor in reliability,so keep your engine healthy as much as you can,and also do not rev your engine in cold starts it need time to get the oil circulated, give it atleast 15sec because this will increase your mileage and engine health.

Got a TVS Sport type handle bar(short type) for my City. Was fed up with the commuterish, upright sitting position. Now its more comfortable for long distance.
Changed the left side switch gear(the stock one lasted 6 years, and would have lasted more,if it hadnt had a crash). The new one costs Rs.350, But seems filmsy, and might not last long(Thats why they always say, OLD IS GOLD).
Have taken it for a 200 km long ride. Now the only grouse is the hard seat. My butt was burning after the ride.. May be 6 years of riding has hardened the seats. Hadnt taken it for a long ride, since quite some time, its being used more by my brother, hence never came across this. Needs some cushioning. Milage has come down to around 62-63 KMPL though(measured twice on the trip). Needs some tuning i guess.
ODO reading = 62000(the pic is 1 month old :P ) actual reading = more than 80K( was running without speedo cable for almost 7-8 months).

Did the 3rd free service, Paid 315, oil and chain lube. Chain was loose got it corrected, It was smooth but as soon as i got it had to go on a long 240kms ride. Mileage stays the same. I revved it hard as the vehicle was so smooth after the service( i was bored) Now i have to adjust the clutch free play as its a bit loose, anybody know how to lube the clutch cable? the correct way? . No major issues. All going good! I saw Phoenix at the showroom a good looking vehicle, similar to star city, different graphics, didn't get time to TD it, will do next time.

Change the tires to Honda Shine's tubeless tires- 18 inch . (well i am not sure, if the new star city's have the same 18 inch rims or not. Mine is 2006 model.)

                          Update

7800 kms on the odo. Gave the bike for the last free service - Yes I know! I made a huge mistake. The 11 free service I explained in the beginning of the thread is wrong. Star City has got only 4 free services ie no labor charges for first 4 services or up to 9months/8500kms.I'm terribly sorry about posting the wrong info, its was all coz of the excitement i guess ( First bike ). Now the bike's great no issues minor electrical problem (fuse problem). Nothing much! happy with TVS. Great mileage recently prices of petrol went up by 2 per liter, but I'm not worried.

Re: 2012 TVS Star City 110

                            On ODO 21596 kms.
Normal FE 60+ city and highway light speed below 65kmph
Got bore with the bike booked RE classic 500 few weeks back this will be A-B bike after RE comes Some kind of oil & coz of that dust sits on engine every 500kms no matter what I or servicing guys do. We did everything but no luck
Poor carburetor may gas lid also can be faulty keep drinking water in rain season
Cleaned it 3times and each time there was good amount of water was in.
Normal bike nothing to say much here
Paint is really poor bike looks like its 5-6 years old when its just 3 years old.
For a person who needs. After FE and A-B point machine this is one of the best machines less on pocket.
                            Thank you
