Clutch cable is in perfect condition. I didn't went to any mechanic as shortage of time. My bike is pending for a wash since a month now.
Even I don't think there is much chance of dirt decreasing the performance.

I think fuel-air mixture setting has gone wrong. Will visit a mechanic soon

      Awaiting your valuable updates .

No problem.. It's running good now. I think the engine got free due to long running. How's your bike doing?

Same case here too. No problem as such, but the bike still vibrates all along. May be I got used to those vibes. And it vibes like hell when I touch 80. It cruises smoothly at 65-70 range and again vibrates at 60. It is now manageable. One great thing about the bike is the mileage part. Even after ripping at 70,,80, it still gives around 60 to 65. But I am seriously waiting to replace to a good stable bike. The only problem now is I am not finding any sellers for this.

                  Good. Keep it up.
Maintain it well, it will perform better day by day.
                  Consider following:
                  1. Replace both sparkplugs with same number as OEM.
                  2. Replace airfilter.
                  3. Adjust valve clearances. Quite tricky as its a 4 valve engine.

Just following these few things will boost performance.

                    hi,

i live in a very small hilly town, very remote area,u need a bike with good power, and st is a good bike i never felt ashamed of it, it can give tough comptetion to any 150cc bike! (ofcourse u need to have good riding skills) i ride it on any type of road, and roads are miserable here ,being a small town nothing good is available, spare parts are also duplicate, no authorised showroom, every time i take this bike to a new mechanic they tell me different things, some time i have to tell them to do this do that. only castrol is available here,i service it after 3000-4000kms, and it is giving me around50+ mileage, i suggest owners to handle this bike carefully, maintain it well.
ya u r right i need to replace its airfilter, can u please tell me what is valve clearence?

You can check these DIY on xbhp about valve clearance and tappet seting.

I believe correct valve setting on a 4valve engine will make a huge difference with a significant performance improvement.

                      • Engine dies when even slightly throttled. What could be wrong?

I usually live in hostel so my Discover 125T gets on road only when I'm home on vacations. Every time before heading back to the hostel I drain the fuel tank, remove the battery, clean the spark plugs and put a few drops of 2T oil in the cylinder and take other precautions as described in the bike's manual, and it had worked well for me so far. However, this'd time when I came home and tried to start the bike it started troubling me. The bike world start after much effort (choke and numerous kicks) and would idle normally but the engine does at even the slightest twist of the throttle. All I can think of us maybe the floats are clogged and gummed up so I am taking it to a mechanic tomorrow but I wanted to know what could possibly be the reason. I am someone must have faced it before me. Could it be a less-charged battery, because the self start and the lamps didn't seem to be working very well.

Thanks for giving your valuable time to this!

                        • Bajaj 125 ST

So, the hunt began on the first week of October 2012. 18 year old me, who learned the art of biking from watching umpteen number of races of Valentino Rossi and practically on his father's 1992 Yamaha RX 100 now needed his own tool to play with. Another addition of Yammie was the dream. And Yamaha FZ 16 was bike I wanted. I had that biking keeda ever since from my childhood, my fellow xBhpians can relate. But then as per my mother and father, it was just a mode of transport from 'point A' to 'point B'. And it was pointless to spend a large chunk on just a machine. I highly disagreed but as they were financing my first bike, due to respect, our (that time) financial situation and a broken dream I agreed.
So, it was finalised that there will be just a mere puny commuter. As I had tasted the blood for the first time on the 2 stroke mania; I definitely needed a much leaner machine to quench my thirst. But since it was decided that I was now going to get a higher cc monster, the choices were narrowed down to-
                          Bajaj Pulsar 135 LS
                          Bajaj Discover 125 ST
                          Honda CB Shine
                          Suzuki Hayate.
Then the series of 'test rides' began and I must say, Suzuki Hayate managed to surprise from the lot. The gear shifts were buttery and no signs of any vibration at all, but then it was just a normal commuter, I didn't wanted to settle that low. Wanted a bit more.
Honda CB Shine was good, actually good. But being a proud Yamaha rider, Honda was never an option.
And then it was finalised, that I'll be a part of Bajaj's family for a foreseeable future.
And then the battle began between the heart and the mind.
Heart wanted the badge of owning a Pulsar but mind sensibly convinced me by a thorough comparison between the performance and the financial aspect.
And thus, as finalised by my father. We mutually agreed upon the Bajaj Discover 125 ST. And we took the delivery after paying hard cash, i.e., Rs. 62,370.
Sadly, Bajaj decided to discontinue this amazing machine. Its been 3 years and 4 months of this amazing bond. And now I am searching for the the fellow 125ST rides to interact and learn more about it.
For me she'll forever be my first, and will share an amazing bond with her.

And, to the moderators, please pardon me for a not so good write up but please bear with me as being a biker I have lot to learn from you people.
                          Thank you.
