    A worn sprocket set would affect the performance negatively mainly due to two reasons. First off, the power deliver is not linear, in the sense, when you engage, there is a whiplash effect where the torque is lost to an extent and then all you get is the clutch drive. Second worn sprockets will always loosen no matter how much you tight them, second the bike will lose pickup and not respond to small throttle inputs correctly. It will jerk, or you will hear a thud sound from the rear.

    When you change the sprocket, change the sprocket in a set, so that both the lives of the chain an sprocket lasts long. Change just one, and the part you replaced will worn sooner.

    Check the clutch plates too..

    Hey Guys, I have a 2011 Pulsar 150 ug4.5 and she's done about 30,000 kms. The pick up has dropped a bit over the past few thousand Kms. I haven't changed the chain sprocket set till now. Planning to do so soon though. I was just wondering whether the pick up would increase after changing the chain sprocket set? Does a worn out chain sprocket have an impact on acceleration?

    Pulsar 150 UG2 (Analog Meter): Stock setup: ~/44


    To overgear, use a 40 teeth rear sprocket (with 6 fitment holes) from LML Freedom. It requires cutting 2 links from the chain.
    (The rear sprockets of FZ, R15, Pulsar UG2 and earlier, LML Freedom, have 6 fitment holes. Others mostly have 4.)

    Hello guys,
    I have a 2006 ug 2 pulsar 150.The chain's been acting up lately and the response is sluggish than what it was.The bike is used mostly for city commuting with an occasional sunday long drive.
    Could anyone please suggest a light under-gearing option to improve acceleration without drastic changes to top-end/mileage .The stock chain is 15/44 with the rear/driven sprocket having 6 holes to mount.thanks in advance.

    If you tour a lot stick to the latter. If you're a city commuter, then you use the former. If you do both, stick with the latter.

    Still couldn't settle my mind on a choice.. On one hand i can get stock setup of r15 on my fazer to get better acceleration on compromise on top speed nd on other hand i can get better top speed with compromise of acceleration, using Unicorn's 15T front..
    Puts me in huge confusion.. Not able to decide..

    For that you'll need a bigger sprocket, yes but yes the bike will reach top speed faster, but top speed will be reduced, smaller on the rear means less low end and improved mid range and improved top end.

    You can get only the front alone outside, but in SVC sometimes they sell them separately or as a pair, but you can always ask the SVC guys.

    Low end torque won't be noticeably reduced right? I'm a kind of person who likes to reach 6k rpm before shifting up

    To overgear, use a 38 teeth Rear Sprocket from P200, but P200 chain length is not sufficient. Adjust your Karizma chain after installing.
