Re: Want bigger rear chain sprocket for 200NS
R15's chain does not have a chain opening lnk and needs to be broken to fit. Right ??Originally posted by Samarth 619 View PostDuke 200's sprocket won't fit as its a 4 hole sprocket, as opposed to 6 fitment holes in P200 NS.
Try fitting one from FZ16 (40 teeth) or R15 v1 (42 teeth)... They should fit if the P200 NS's pitch is .428, as these sprockets have 6 fitment holes.
So won't that coz any trouble??

hello guys,Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostDon't know about the options. Search more on this thread, you would find what you need.
As for the current set, yes change it ! 21k is enough. You will have to search the market yourself for the rolon or other makes.
And yes, duke has O-ring chain.
i ve been using p135ls for past 3 years
my chain and chain sprockets are fine no trouble
i came to know abt upsizing sprockets
actually what is the use of it
will it increase power and mileage?
if so please tell which wil fit my bike and total cost of it

I get the chain+sprocket set cleaned and lubricated every 500kms or so. In the beginning the noise would appear quite late, but these days the noise starts after 200-250 kms itself. The odo reads 21k(maybe time to change the set? )
The sprocket on p180 has 4 mounting holes and the front has 2. Front has 14T and the rear one has 39T. Will i get the chain+sprocket set matching this criteria from Rolon or diamond?

Duke has o-ring? But the website says X-ring?Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostThe chain in Duke is also O-ring. X-ring is available as power part kit.
Also, there isn't much difference between the O-ring chain and X-ring chain. I have shared the info about them in detail (i think in this thread only) and i our smaller cc bikes, that won't be any noticeable change.
X-ring chains are costly, as they are not that common. Better buy a good quality O-ring chain (like Rolon etc) and change the sprockets also. These should be changed in a set (chain+front and rear sprocket)
The noise can come for worn out sprockets, lack of lubrication and cleaning, excessive slack. Have you checked all these ?

Re: Want bigger rear chain sprocket for 200NS
Apache 160's sprocket definitely won't fit at all. Confirmed. Karizma's sprocket may fit, but I'm not sure about the same.Originally posted by vicky19990 View Postmy cbr 250r has 14t front sprocket, can i fit 13t sprocket of apache 160 or karizma's sprocket in it??
Try fitting Karizma's front sprocket, if at all you try... And do post the result here, so all can be benefitted.

I want to change the chainset of my Pulsar 200NS.
Preferably a bigger rear sprocket(currently 39 T).
IS Duke 200's rear sprocket (43 T) a fit???(both have same front sprocket)
If not what other sprocket can i use.
Please suggest.
Thanks

The chain in Duke is also O-ring. X-ring is available as power part kit.Originally posted by shreyakms View PostThe o-ring chain and sprocket set in pulsar 180 is very annoying. Develops noise very frequently. I read that the ktm duke has x-ring chain and did a little research and found out that x-ring chains are better than o-ring chains. Is this true? If so, are there any aftermarket x-ring chain and sprocket sets for my pulsar 180? Or is it possible to fit the chain and sprocket set from the duke? Or can i just plonk in the x ring chain of the duke(or any other bike) into the stock sprocket setup of my bike?

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Guess you were right, I test rode a friend's D200 which had a KTM power parts (46T rear) sprocket set. I did not feel that the acceleration figures were any better than the current 43T set on my bike, Infact I think my bike accelerates better. I also rode a few bikes with the 42T set and felt that there was a considerable lag in acceleration compared to my bike.Originally posted by road_ripper View PostThe Stock D200 is already undergeared with 43T rear, not recommended to go for 45T at all unless you want to make use of it for stunting. The 42T sprocket of the new one should be good enough to maintain peppiness and with 45T your acceleration figures would not improve/ might actually go down as it would be too much undergeared.Last edited by jalex; 05-29-2014, 01:49 PM.

Re: World of Sprockets!
I'd personally stick to Yamaha stuff because of its durability! TVS you must be knowing! And front 14T and rear 47T isn't a good combination! You will be giving up too much of you high end! Go for apache's 44T rear.Originally posted by spit_fire View PostThanks for that. From information on the first page of this thread; R15 v1 has 14/42 on chain pitch .428, Apache RTR 160 has 13/44 on chain pitch .428, and the Duke 200 has 14/43 on chain pitch .520. Guessing the 160's rear sprocket would do just fine for the v1? Not too sure about the 15/47 of the v2 though.

Get R15 V2's sprockets which will serve your need. Its 15 front and 47rear. I don't think you will get both of it separately.
Also duke's rear is of 43teeths.
Apache's is of 44teeth (160)
Try finding out the thickness and if its same to that of R15's then get any of it else if you strictly want anything but Yamaha's then get chain set along with the sprocket of the same manufacturer.

Stock size when I got the bike was 14T Front and 43T rear, Then KTM changed the size of the rear on post mid 2012 bikes to 42T.
Now I've came across a 45T rear set. Actually its the O/E set of the D125. And I'm not a top whack person, I enjoy acceleration a lot. What do you think, Should I go for the 45T set or get the 42T at replacement time? The 43T set is almost impossible to come by now as well. And anyone here who's running the Chain sprocket set of the D125 on their 200? Would love to hear a feedback and comparison.
