  • Re: World of Sprockets!

    Hi,

can any one give a cheap alternative to Himalaya's sprocket.

Stock setup is 15T front and 38T rear.

i would like to increasing top speed by using either 16T or 17T front sprocket or 36T rear.

the imported ones are quit expensive so would like to know if i can borrow any sprocket from existing bikes in india. (or even a custom made sprocket)

    regards,
    Nikhil.

I need a help. I have R15 V2.0 which is currently running 30k kms with 2nd Chain Sprocket. The front sprocket teeth are now sharp and slightly bent, i.e. almost life is over, but chain & rear sprocket are fine. Yamaha ASC doesn't sell individual separate sprocket now and buying whole sprocket kit is not a good idea only for front sprocket.
Can I install aftermarket or other brand/model 15T front sprocket? Which brand or model? Suggest
      Regards
      Saikat

I'm not 100% sure, but the 15T front from Honda Unicorn or Bajaj Pulsar UG3 is supposed to be a direct fit. You can check and re-confirm.

Most probably you can buy DIAMOND chain kit as it's one of the best. Other than the stock brands it's good in many aspects. It's owned by HERCULES BICYCLE(UK) .

You can check their catalogues and more details here:

You can check the automobile chain section to check the price and other info.

Hi. I'm Anand from chennai, kind of new here. Sorry about deleting the other posts that I wrote earlier, still figuring out how the forum works.
So I have a honda dream neo that I'm teying my best to restore at home, got one in the worst possible condition and working my way through.
So my query is, as you guys might know already about the super short first gear of the honda dream series is really a pain in traffic. So I have to replace my chain kit since it's already wrecked, I got myself a front 14T sprocket and removed two links from the exisiting chain to make it work.
I'm experimenting before I finalize my final drive, I'm ok with relaxed driving, don't like stoplight pulls and all.
What rear sprocket would fit it?
Stock setup is 14T front, 41T rear, 420 pitch, 4 Holes, 114 links. I was wondering if I can get a 38T from some other bike that would be compatible with it . 420pitch 38T, is that a right choice? Kindly help me out. Thanks

I have checked sprockets from that of pulsar (15 t front ) but pulsar has a bigger shaft due to which it cannot be fixed. I think none of the bigger front sprockets matches that of a ct100b as i have checked many second hand front sprockets and none matches the shaft size with the current one i have. So i am left only with options to downsize my rear sprocket( 37, 38 t). Any clues to which might fit on this bike if someone has already explored the options? TIA
Were you able to find a suitable fit to overgear the motorcycle?

I wish to help one of my Rapido friend who has been helpful to me in few emergency situations.

                    Thanks in advance!

                        Corrected original post.

Currently she's at 3.00 final drive ratio, I need it to be at 2.8~2.85 as even now the motorcycle hits the limiter even in last gear.

Bajaj bikes tend to hit limiter... I overgeared my rs200 and now it reaches 160kmph and still able to hit limiter

Guess you are using 39T at the rear .
It's the same for me and was thinking to switch to 38T from cbr 250.
Is it a direct fit ?

Thank you! I'll check with the shopkeeper with my new found knowledge and check a few sprockets out directly. I got myself a dream Yuga heavy duty kit from rockman (hero brand) recently . I think it's a 428 pitch set. I think the old unicorns front 15 should fit. I'm not sure, any inputs regarding this would be great. Thanks again for the link
