    Hi Guys,

Been following up on Hyosung GT 250R and went around looking for a new bike, as the last time i bought a new bike, it was back in 2004 and so finally after testing the Pulsar 200 NS and the KTM and also saw the Ninja but wasnt so attracted to it. So finally me and my son who is 5 years old and loves bikes and cars as much as me, went to the new DSK SuperBiking showroom and checked out the bike and booked it.

Now awaiting the delivery timeline according to the sales person out there which would be 15 days. So keeping my fingers crossed.

Congrats in advance and all the best. Checked out the bike in the sense, you had a test ride, correct? if yes, can you please tell how is the feel, the gearbox, the engine response, the weight(its massive) and riding posture?

amitabh - May we know the reason for not getting attracted to Ninja 250R apart from looks? Did you test ride Ninja 250R? Basically, would like to know your side of reason for choosing GT250R over Ninja 250R.

No GT250r, But Feedback about Duke 200 and Ninja 250r

I went to DSK/Hyosung outlet in Hyderabad couple of days back, and came back disappointed.

Bike is supposed to be available in showroom on 21st/22nd.

OTR here is about 3.02 L available in 3 colors. Of which, 2 look horrible in print and the white one looks some what better.

Not sure which mastermind decided to not launch these colors schemes in India.

^^Nice to know about the Delhi lot, looking forward to the ride experience from different owners.
I remember the time I checked the riding stance on the GT650R and was it aggressive. I'm 6 feet tall but I still noticed it to be too aggressive for streets, but awesome for the track or cornering. The GT250R giving the same size experience should be nice one to learn on if you're planning to upgrade in a few years.

None of the owner's should be pissed off because of what you think. Cos your thoughts are based on what you know and have experienced about the bikes. And moreover no product is made for everyone, its just made for a particular category and that too the majority of that category (no everyone). So it's perfectly fine if you didn't like something. Hell I starve from digital console as well on the N250R, but I know that globally it's just a learner's bike so everyone looks forward to upgrade after learning, so it's not required to have all the fancy gizmo's and features to impress the crowd

Waiting to see the pics and review from owners here....

If I were to spend 3 Lakhs today on a bike, I would rather prefer to go for GT250R than Ninja 250. Here are the reasons:

                              - Better Low-end power - Although I haven't test ridden GT250R, I believe it being a v-twin has a better low-end accelaration as compared to Ninja. I had test-ridden Ninja sometime back and within colony, it did not seem anything different than my current Pulsar 200 (the old one, not NS). Of course, the moment I went on the highway and opened the throttle, it zoomed to 100 kmph very quickly. But biking is not just about 0-100 mark. Since, I would be riding a fair bit within the city and not always revving above 10000rpms, I would prefer V-twin to parallel-twin

                              - Top-end. Who cares? - I don't care about the difference in top-end of the two bikes. I don't intend to race with Ninja, so even if GT250R cannot match Ninja's top-speed, I am perfectly fine with it. As long as I can cruise comfortably in 100-120 kmph range, I am happy.

                              - The feel factor. Again, when I was riding Ninja, although it was fast, I did not really get that "feel" which would prompt me to hand over 3 Lakhs. But the feel that you get when you swing your leg over GT is awesome. May be, it's because of the size and sporty-riding posture. Also, before I rode Ninja, I had this impression that it's a big bike (from the pictures on internet) but the moment I sat on it, all that bigness disappeared and I found that it's size is pretty much like other bikes.

                              - Lastly (but very importantly), the looks. I feel no shame in saying that I would love to see people turning their heads when I go past them on a bike which is worth 3 lakhs. You can call me a poser. I don't really care as long as I drive responsibly. And you know, when it comes to looks, GT wins hands-down. Not every one likes fully green-coloured bikes.

As far as quality is concerned, I am pretty sure that it's not as bad as people here are making it out to be. I did not see any review (zigwheels, PTR, xBHP etc.) where it was thrashed for its quality. As far as vibrations are concerned, as per reviews, vibes are much lesser than GT650R. Plus, nothing is flawless. I see CBR owners saying that they are not completely happy with its braking.

Coming to air/oil-cooled part, I don't know how bearable or how unbearable the heat of GT250R becomes in city. So, cannot comment on this. But as long as it is "managable", I should be ok.

So, those were my criteria to prefer this over Ninja.

I was waiting for this bike for quite some time and expecting it to be around 2 lakhs but 2.75 is just too much :-(
