I test rode Ninja 300 and Inazuma today. I will attract a lot of pitchforks for this, but I didn't find Ninja 300 much attractive option for my utility. I require a bike to tour with pillion and good amount of luggage, something that can be parked anywhere, and can be sent through railways as parcel to other states.

I found sitting position of Ninja 300 bit too forwrd for my liking. I know people have toured a lot on it, but somehow didn't find sweet spot of comfort. The fairing too seemed low, maybe the windscreen will be fully used when rider is crouched on the tank, a position I hardly ever assume.

When I test rode the Inazuma, it felt as if an upgraded GS150R. The sitting position, the relative weight, footpegs, all seemed higher quality GS150R. I test rode it with my pillion, and she too felt as if she was sitting on our existing bike, not anything vastly different. The turning radius seems good, also people hardly notice the bike as something costing 2.4L.

But the test ride was fun. I was not mindful of my sitting position, it was just as it has been for all of my riding career. Only the power was available on tap. The bike didn't seem to jump out of its skin as CBR (didn't get chance to test this on Ninja 300), but it rode well. I was doing good speed at quite low rpms of 5-6k.

I felt the wind was bit too much at speed above 80, as there is no windscreen. Hope to see the new faired models in India, but they will increase the cost by 25-30k.

Also asked about the possible exit of Inazuma, which was strongly denied. Dealer is keeping a stance that there is some mistake at website end, and it will be corrected. I have asked him to keep me updated about the 2015 models. As this is year end, I am thinking of buying a new model at the start of next year. Hope CBR300 sees the light of the day in India by then.

Due to some official work i accessed automotive data year 2013-2014 today By SIAM. found following entries for Inazuma 250/Ninja 300

      Production for April- Oct. 2013

      17/274

      production for April-Oct. 2014
      98/202

There is increases in production for Inazuma from 17 units to 98 units compared, silently serving niche market but this increase in sales figures is comparable.
to 274 to 202 for Ninja 300 which actually decreased. Ninja 300 is clearly facing competition from other manufacturer

But I think Inazuma was not launched in 2013, it was launched in 2014. How was the data there if it weren't being sold?!

This indicates production. As it was launched in Jan-14, I think few models would have been manufactured in October or the months leading to the launch. 17 models meaning few for auto expo .. Few for display at major dealers and few for actual sales. Just my opinion.

Since it says production can't we safely assume Inazuma [parts] were here in 2013 itself?

I'm pretty confident if they offer something like below from showroom sales might even double:
Touring is taking roots here... no?

You know what, in my hopeful prediction, I think Suzuki took down Inazuma from website to update with new 2015 design. The Global design for 2015 model is GW250F. It is even better than your posted version - GW250S.

Look at the covered engine! Also the handle bar is raised considerably than current Inazuma. If this launches at 2.6L onroad, I am taking a plunge! Resale value and rationality be damned! It addresses the only problem in Inazuma that I faced - the naked design that pushes too much wind to the rider. Also it addresses the problem of non-exotic looks, I guess.

Oh no! ... I hope the naked version continues to be in production... Been to the dealer in Mumbai ... Claimed the the fared verion will be launched in 2015... Suzuki plans to sell its stock of the naked version .... However, the good news is that Suzuki is committed to supply spares to the existing customers ... And also the fared version is the same bike. All parts compatible , except the headlight assembly... Have been planning on owning the Inazuma ... Finally will take a plunge in February... Hope the cloud clears by then and we know the future of Inazuma...

Bought a red Inazuma last weekend. Had a N300 but I am mostly getting into 2-up riding situations and I felt Inazuma is the best at this price point for comfort without sacrificing too much of handling. no need to mention the excellent build quality and finish.

Will update the initial ride review soon.
Congrats Mate. I got my Zuma 5 days back. Will post experience soon in a separate thread. Meanwhile I clocked 150kms. Enjoying the Multi-Cylinder rhythm.
                      Cheers

^^^Thanks for the news. Hope the faired version is priced properly. Though outside it is costlier by $500, so here it will be costlier by atleast 25 - 30k, if not more. Hope we get the GW250F at less than 2.7L.

But it'll add 10kgs atleast...and power to weight ratio will be even less unless they tweak the engine.

Suzuki website says just 6 kgs in Curb Weight: 183 vs 189 kgs

They're basic versions, equipping accessories increases weight.

Dreary thing is : "Is Suzuki going to keep the price-cut when it brings full-faired version to India"?

Rynox gears. i had experimented with one more brands but this looks the best sp far (other brands that I bought is cramster i think). The advantage with rynox is that it will be suitable for upswept exhaust as well and a partial hard core.

In a touring machine that generates peak torque at 6500, I don't think a matter of 3% weight increase will matter much. I mean, if weight was that big a criteria, people would be better off trimming the fat off their tummies than trimming the motorcycle! If by extra 6kg you are getting a good wind protection, it will be worth it.

Karizma when launched was priced too high. It reduced the price by 10k in a few months. All the later versions followed the similar price band. I think the price increase should be in accordance with the international price change, and it will not bring the price above 3L budget. If it does, then Suzuki will show it has not learnt anything from its mistake.
