Re: Suzuki Inazuma 250 - Owners Reviews
Haven't been able to fix the Crash Guard yet... but I did go for the Ride to Rajasthan. Will be posting a blog soonOriginally posted by fire_blade View Post@Gyro_speed please post the pics of crash guard if you fixed one
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
BTW, i had to remove the Windscreen as the wind blast was getting directed to the upper half of my torso and also the packing between the Windscreen and the Odometer would have damaged the alignment of the headlight Cowl. I will be trying out the CBR 250 Windscreen soon though...Your Head is more important than your Hairstyle. Wear a Helmet, Always!!!

Re: Suzuki Inazuma 250 - Owners Reviews
Hi guys,
This is my first post on xBhp and it is about my new Inazuma.
A little background before i describe my experience with the Zuma.
I owned a Yamaha R15 for a year before the Zuma and a Yamaha FZ16 before that for four.
I had always been attracted towards the Zuma. Soon after the launch i took a test ride and loved how smooth it was. Then I saw the price and how steep that was. So I dropped the plans of buying one. I visited the showroom again and got a quotation and did nothing about it. I didn't think of it again until I realized the R15 wasn't ideal for my daily commute of 75 Kms. Just on a whim I inquired with the showroom and they had one in stock (read unsold).
I went and checked it out, it was a Nov 2013 model and had done 103 Kms already. I test rode it, and as soon as i was done with the test ride i decided i wanted it. I wasnt thinking with my head. I will be honest, i wanted it just for the twin silencers. I also liked the fact that it would be quite exclusive as Suzuki had stopped selling the Zuma in India. The Duke was an incredibly tempting proposition for a considerably lesser price. but i realized it's low speed refinement and rideability was horrible. I just decided not to think about replacement parts and associated service related issues that would definitely be coming my way in the future. Whenever such thoughts crossed my mind, i thought about the Zuma's chrome header pipes and all those awful thoughts would just vanish. So, after the customary haggling, extended warranties and free service promises (whatever they are worth) i got the bike home.
Now i have completed my first service and have done about 1400 Kms. Here are a few of my observations.
The service first. I live in Goa and so the service Guy comes from Pune.
Feroze from Dream Suzuki. My first service cost me 3000 Rs for the oil (300V, Motul) and 2000 Rs. for conveyance. There was no oil filter in stock, so it was just washed and replaced (i was very pissed off about this, but there was nothing i could do).
Since the service the bike has been behaving well. The longest ride on the Zuma was a 250 Kms round trip. I also rode about 160 Kms in pouring rain to check its rain worthiness.
Pros:
Beautifully comfortable ride.
Stable and composed if ridden in a sane manner.
Exclusive as hell. Saw only 2 or 3 Zumas at IBW 2015.
The torque wave between 6000 and 7000 Rpm is amazing to ride on.
Cons:
The buzz and vibrations at 5500 Rpm are very pronounced.
The engine isn't as refined as i expected. It is good but not great.
The clutch lever starts rattling past 8500 Rpm.
Some areas do not have the best mating of panels, especially the tail light and its surrounding plastic.
The silver paint just in front of the heel plate wears off as soon as a genuine riding boot contacts it.
The bike is heavy (for my stature) when it is at a standstill and quite difficult to push around.
A noisy plastic to plastic slap as the FI control unit was loose. Used some rubber bands to hold it in place.
Observations:
The bike has good overall quality.
Solid, and honest are the words that come first to mind when i ride it.
It is a stable commuter and possibly a good highway tourer (using the term a little liberally here)
It feels like a proper bike (even i don't know what it means), it just feels like that.
Mods:
Puig Crash Guard
K&N oil filter is soon to be installed.

How many owners here from mumbai??
Maybe we can connect through a whatsapp group?
Is anyone facing an issue of valve clearance?
The signs are a peculiar clatter which comes from the engine during startup.
I haven't had any such problems yet... However, my cooling system did go offset after my ride to Rajasthan ... I get my steed serviced at Kiran Suzuki Thane... They are really good and worth the ride from Ghatkopar to Thane. They Reflashed the bike settings to factory and the bike came back to its growling best. I also had to get my front wheel bearings changed as they were broken. Though i still get some clatter from the front end when i hit a bump..
... will get it fixed and post shortly.
I also changed the brake pads as they wore out ... Thankfully, they match to the CBR250R and didn't burn a hole in my pocket.
Got the Center stand fixed too... needed it to lubricate the chains and god forbid any punctures (Haven't had any yet).
Also, i am so glad to have chosen the Zuma as i use it for my regular commute to work too. The Zuma returns 30kmpl and is very commute friendly. My periodic rides to malshej, Lonavla are just Blissful ... Couldn't ask for more..Your Head is more important than your Hairstyle. Wear a Helmet, Always!!!

Re: Suzuki Inazuma 250 - Owners Reviews
Hey Guys,
Are there any Inazuma owners in Pune right now? I need to get in touch for matters related to servicing experiences from Swargate Suzuki showroom.
Are there any good mechanics in Pune, apart from the authorized showroom, where I can take my Inazuma for servicing?
Please do let me know your views.
Regards,
Nitin

They look neat. I'll see if I can get any Puig ones, else will have to resort to fabricating one.Originally posted by Gyro_speed View Post

Re: Suzuki Inazuma 250 - Owners Reviews
I just gave my Zuma for 2nd service. 5050 km on the odo in almost exactly 6 months. Rear brake pads need to be changed and its 3300?!?! More than my swift's!
Has anybody got more life out of their pads? Any idea if these can be bought cheaper in the US?

I'm around 6800 km now. No, haven't changed the pads yet. They still have life in them. Look a few posts back. Someone has used the pads of the CBR 250R & it seems to be a direct fit.Originally posted by sandeip View PostI just gave my Zuma for 2nd service. 5050 km on the odo in almost exactly 6 months.
