    Onwer Manual Says Motul

    I need more details

    1. When i took bike the RPM 1 was 7.5K not sure what RPM2 is !!
    2. I did set the RPM1 to 5K but unable to do it for RPM2.
    3. The owner manual says to Set RPM1 press mode till you get ODO2 and then press hold SET for 10-15 seconds and RPM1 comes up.
    4. They say the same thing for RPM2 but it never comes up.

Can anybody help me setting up RPM2 please ?

Either you are confused here or I am. See if the following makes any sense:

RMP1 is set to 5.5k & 7.5k till the 1st service. When you cross RMP 1, the red light starts blinking. When you cross/touch RPM 2, the warning light becomes constant.
You SHOULD NOT try to set the RPMs on your own for now.

Pressing Mode brings up ODO1 and ODO2. While on ODO 1, pressing SET for 10-15 secs clear the ODO 1 reading. Doing the same while on ODO 2 clears ODO 2.

My RPM1 was set at 7.5 when i took delivery it use to blink after 7.5K RPM, I did not check RPM2 Settings that time.

        1. Now i have setup RPM1 using the set button, you keep pressing mode till you get ODO2 once you hold mode(My Bad hold Mode not SET) for 10-15 seconds and it will bring up RPM1 which can be setup increased decreased

        2. now they have given the same instruction to setup RPM2 in manual but it never comes up

Okay, have never tried that. You might want to check with your ASC.

Once rpm 1 shows on your console, press and hold mode again for rpm2. Or just try pressing set after rpm1 shows.

Then do this. Keep holding mode for a few more seconds after rpm1 shows. I did it some time back but can't seem to recall the procedure. Its easy as far as memory serves.

nothing will happen if you set the rpm.. you should only remember to not exceed 7500rpm until the first 1000km

The trip1/trip2 readings do not require a 10-15sec SET button press... it is reset to 0 in just 2-3seconds on holding the SET button down.

haha.. so its a shoddy copy paste job by ktm... i was sure my d200 manual had the typo, because it confused me initially. I just wanted to double check before i posted it here. I am surprised that even after 3 years of being in the market, they still had such a typo on the d200 manual! unfortunate to see it replicated on the RC as well.
the pdf owners manual are available on the ktm website itself.. though they are for the 'EU' version... and i do not think there is any significant difference between the EU and Indian manual.. atleast the EU manual seems to not have the typos... bajaj/ktm why the step motherly treatment.. duh?!

Obviously nothing will happen, its just that if you have a warning pop-up to caution you, you will make sure you are NOT crossing it.

10-15 secs or 2-3 secs, I never counted that. I guess I was able to convey what I wanted to and that's enough from my POV.

I am confident about the typo because i am struggling to do it from the day of my delivery. every time i leave house i recheck the manual and i fail with pain in my fingers :P lol.

I think for RC manual they have just swapped D200 manual main page...

This is a terrible thing someone may visit the ASC for such a silly thing Dammmmmmm

                            cant stop laughing myself.

You are right but as the RPM number are too small i struggle to keep an eye on them... and my RPM1 is set at 5000 were it starts blinking but not sure were RPM2 is set,

Setting it up to 7500K will help me understand that immediately instead of looking at those tiny numbers !!!!

When does your blinking red warning light come - up? Should be around 5.5k.
