Valve Lapping is basically sanding down the surface of the Valves (which allow fuel and air to flow in, and exhaust to flow out) and the Head (Holds the Camshafts and valves) where they make contact with each other. This is done by applying a Compound Paste (pretty much just oil and a fine grade of sand) to the edges of the valves and spinning them in their seats on the head.

What are the benefits of Lapping?
The two that I am aware of are*
    1) creates a better seal between the valve and the head, which will prevent gases from escaping during the compression stroke of your engine.
    2) the greater contact area allows for more heat dissipation from the valves to the head which will prevent burnt valves."

Is there any problem in your engine such as loss of power or reduction in mileage?
There is both loss of power and mileage. I think its due to bad carb tuning. I'll go to a mechanic to figure it out probably. Is there anything else i should take care of?

This might be due to carbon build up on the valves and engine head too. You might want to get that checked.

Also get the engine oil strainer and the centrifugal filter cleaned.

Also check the speed vs rpm while running if it is the same as before. For example, if the bike was showing 55kmph@4000rpm, and now it is showing 50-52kmph@4000rpm, the clutch might be slipping and it may be time for a change of clutch plates.

Will do that. Including changing clutch plates along with a DC. How much will it all cost? Will it go beyond 4k?

          I don't think it'll go beyond 4k, check with the SVC/mechanic.

Do check the speed vs rpm before changing the clutch plates.

They won't inform you now that your warranty is void, they will bring it out only when you go to claim warranty repairs.

Guys I bought CB unicorn 160 in the 1st week of November 2017. I didn't even see it before booking, just bought it because it's the best commuter in that segment. Now that X-Blade 160 is out, I am tempted a lot mainly for the LED DC headlight and wider rear tire. I just hate unicorn's puny headlight, that too on AC (dynamo).

How much can I expect to get in return for this 4 months old motorcycle? It has run 1500 kms and it's in pristine condition. I am expecting 72000-75000, is it reasonable?
Xblade and 2018 hornet have ac led headlights. They Flickr below 2k rpm.

You can also try hero 4t oil. It comes in 900ml pack.

Anyone here want to tell me in brief if the U160 is still worth buying in 2018? Reasons why I want to buy it over a Gixxer or Hornet:

                        1. Straight Riding Position
                        2. Cheaper than the above two.
                        3. Better Fuel Efficiency
                        4. Easy to get serviced compared to Gixxer.
                        5. The trust of a Unicorn vehicle.

What are the major issues with this bike? The suspension seems stiff from my test ride experience, but can it be adjusted?

The height and additional weight makes it tough to maneuver it in bumper to bumper city traffic. Talking from personal experience.

I have a query on behalf of my friend who owns a Honda Unicorn 160. Is it a good idea to upgrade the worn stock rear MRF tyre which is an 110/80 with an 120/80 Michelin City Pro tyre on this bike? Will there be any effect like the tyre touching with the body or chain cover of the bike, apart from handling? Please suggest.
