Will there be any effect like the tyre touching with the body or chain cover of the bike, apart from handling? Please suggest.
Most probably will touch the body underneath the seat. He can try Masseter, it won't touch due to its curved profile.

        Merged with the ownership thread.

There is no interval as such, speaking realistically. A lot depends upon how often do you lube and clean the chain. And keep about an inch and a half of freeplay. Check it once a month and adjust as and when needed. Clean the chain once a month and never let it run dry.

It's been 3 yrs with my Unicorn 160 and rode 20000 kms + and beside air filter change twice and tightening chain and cone set, there's been no problem at all with my bike. I've travelled to Amritsar, Jaipur, Mussorie , Nainital with this bike from Delhi and not a single issue cropped despite cruising at 80-95 kmph with pillion. Proud of being a Honda owner. i'd like to point some things, this bike is not so comfortable for long rides and constant break of 15-20 mins is needed within 3-4 hrs of riding. Mileage is respectable 40-45 kmpl while riding at high speeds and 45+ while riding at 55-60 kmph. Wish my Hunk had Unicorn 160 engine and i'd be happy to own for several years of riding.

I have added yet another modification to my motorcycle. The clip-on handlebar of Hero Honda Karizma ZMR. There were a lot of hindrances but i finally added it.

              • Can someone share or improve my checklist to do a detailed servicing of the bike?

                My list:
                1. Replace disc brake pads
                2. Replace air filter
                3. Degrease the chain and reapply lubricant
                4. Check chain slack
                5. Clean the carburettor
                6. Check/replace rear brake cable
                7. Clean drum brake
                8. Check rear tyre alignment
                9. Oil the accelerator cable (no idea if this makes sense)
                10. Clean spark plug
                11. Engine oil change (please suggest a good oil)
                12. Clutch wire oiling and replacement if necessary
                13. Accelerator rotation adjustment
                14. Headlight Dipper adjustment

                • Guys, which engine oil do you use for your Unicorn 160?

I used to use Motul 20w40 and it was perfect, until Motul stopped released it in 1.2 Liter. It's now only coming in 1 Liter and now I'm confused what to do.

Any other suggestions for a good engine oil?

What I feel is when using 10w30 oil, I feel there is too much engine roughness. Hence I've always preferred 20w40.
