Went to checkout the AS200 at Lajpat Nagar today. No test ride allowed unfortunately as of now. Rs 1.06L OTR in Delhi. A couple of things could have been thrown in to have made it a great touring bike. Really confused at the moment. Test rode Duke390 and it was
What to buy? A tough problem to solve with the pros and cons of each.

Carb setup and orange console light like the NS, guys.

There shouldn't be any cost difference between MRF and Eurogrip versions.

Loving it so far. Its no slouch, and I haven't had any problems in slow-moving traffic so far, despite the weight.

Well, I used to ride my brother-in-law's Apache 180 RTR before this, but overall I have little prior experience when it comes to motorcycles. But I don't think you'd need much experience to figure that a bike is going pretty fast.

Hi Guys,

I have received my Pulsar AS200 [RED] on saturday
I bought the bike from Khivraj Kasturba road, Bangalore.


I am coming to AS200 from a 2007 Pulsar 200 DTSi and I can see a lot of improvements. There are many good things to talk about AS and people are already doing that, so I will spare that.

But there are some things i want to rant about. Please do provide your suggestions on how to resolve these issues
I have clocked 140 KM on it as of now.

1) The biggest issue:
But this may be limited to my bike alone.
My bike veers towards left when i leave the handle bars. This happens in all the speeds (upto 55). I have checked my tyre pressure (25 front, 28 rear).
It is so bad that I have to catch the handle bars back again else it veers very dangerously. The only way I can keep it straight is by shifting my weight towards right.

Also, when I twist the handle bar to complete left, i feel a spongy feeling and I can see some wires are obstructing the handle bar to remain at complete left.
If i leave at complete left, handle bar will just push it self back a few millimeter out. This does not happen to the right side though.

I brought this to the notice of Khivraj SC guy immediately. He took a small drive and said no problem.
After I prodded another senior guy came, did the same and says may be the front tyre has to wear down evenly. It will take 1000 KMs or so
. Seriously ? And I needed all my patience and zen to keep calm, smile to them and walk out.

I felt no point in coming to Khivraj for service.

I plan to take it to Auto Service in banashankari for my first service and let them resolve it. Let me know if they are still good or not. I have read about them on XBHp and this will be the first time I will be going to them.


-->I need help from guys here to suggest best way to resolve this. What should I suspect here? Will this be easily rectified?

2) Suspension set up is tight:
It is a bit more tight than my expectation / liking. Does AS rear suspension have any setting to make it softer?

3) Idle vibrations: I did not see a lot of mention of this, but when i am in idle, I feel a side to side vibrations in the bike. it is very slow frequency but i can feel the bike sway horizontally. I had not felt this with my Pulsar 200 DTSi. Can other AS owners let me know if they feel some thing similar in their bikes too or not?

4) I feel the switch gear quality is for the most part ok. But indicators are not that great. It does not have the correct tactile feel, especially if you have golves, and the indicator on the console does not show the specific direction of the indicator.

Over all, I have a mixed feeling about quality from Bajaj now. Only time will tell. Hopefully point 1 above gets resolved, and point 3 is nothing but because of need to engine run-in.

I can live with tight set suspension, but if AS was meant to be a touring bike, then a softer suspension and a bit less rear set footpegs would have helped.

I guess you would need to adjust the steering, tighten/loosen the same. But that said, it might be a bit too early, ride it around for a while may be 500-1000kms and then go to them with a consolidated list of issues

Khivraj doesn't really have a good record in my books, when I rode the 220F, I used to go all the way to BSK from KR Puram just for decent service. But after I sold my 220 couple of years back I have no idea how it is. May be I can check our local P220 group about this and let you know.

I had this issue in my 220 needed constant attention, but its just a matter of adjusting the steering/coneset.



From what I know, there should be at-least 5 load settings on the rear spring, my CBR has. U can get it adjusted to a softer setting.

New Engine, will be a lil rough and vibey. Should smoothen out in about 1K kms. Need to worry if it doesnt.

Yep, they should have used the same switch used on the RS, or atleast the 220 ones.

Foot pegs are pretty well placed, compare the RS footpegs, then you will realize this is much forward.

And BTW, I have booked a blue AS200 as well, awaiting delivery. Kind of a downgrade for me from the CEEBER, but still excited as hell

Yes, Khivraj service in Indiranagar is pretty bad ..
My biggest concern before buying AS was the service. But I liked AS200 too much. I hope BSK Auto Service lives up to better standards.


I will check if there is a suspension setting when i give it for first service.
I am planning to go about 700 odd km for first service and then go with all problems to Auto Service.

Yes, compared to RS they are better. I guess in AS they are set same as NS. I just feel they should have made it more forward set like in Kawi Versys ...

Both are basically the same bike in different form factor. If you like the naked street fighter stance pick the NS, else if you like the Taller tourer stance with the fairing pick the AS.

My choice would be the AS200 since I prefer the quarter fairing. Also Bajaj has announced that price would be hiked after the introductory period, so in effect you would own a more expensive vehicle for less.
