Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Yes it is.. The bike being naked still weights 148 kg which is way to heavy. Plus the missing 6th gear. And personally I think the front section is too ugly as the console and the headlights don't blend in properly.Originally posted by xplod566 View PostOK bro.thanks.
Just saw the specs for rtr200.what a disappointment it was

If you go by specs, RE on paper looks better than pulsars.Originally posted by xplod566 View PostOK bro.thanks.

But we all know for the fact that those are just numbers. If you have anything to comment about its headlamp I would gladly join in [emoji13]

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Dyi for adjusting shockers. Its being raining heavily here for past two days so the delay. My mono shock was at second most stiffest setting which gave me some trouble off roading and on bad roads.
Visited the service center but he did not have the tools to adjust so thought of doing it my way. Used an old long screwdriver and a light weight hammer. Your screwdriver may go blunt or the handle may break off with repeated hammering so be carefull.
this is the softest setting i am on right now after changing.
put the screwdriver on the cogged wheel as in the picture and rotate it left for softer setting. But if you rotate it too much it comes back to stiff. Make sure not to put the driver head on the thin plastic washer ring above that cog or you may damage it.

When hitting the hammer make sure not to hit the plastic rear disk brake oil reservoir or the rear foot pegs which i did scratch accidently.
The ride has improved a lot now but dont expect it to be super soft. I am fully satisfied with the suspension now. Completed 30 km offroading in the rain without any issues.

Reason for my dissapointment is mainly coz the price at which it is set is good but when you pay 10K extra you get so much goodies at NS/AS.5 peed gearbox is what dissapointed me most. And their excuse was Cost cutting. It has become a very common statement as VFM and would cut some important feature of the bike.I would have loved 6 speed gearbox rather than the All digi console.
What may be the reason for 5 speed might have been since hats an old 180 Engine and here wasnt any 6 gears on it!

VBOX tested results doe 0-100 kphOriginally posted by xplod566 View PostBy pickup I meant from 0 to speeds like 40 how is the speed.is it faster than AS or slower .
200NA - 10.2 sec
AS200 - 10.52 sec
RS200 - 10.6 sec
R15 - 12.78 sec
P220f - 11.2 sec
VBOX for top speed
200NS - 135 kph
AS200 - 136 kph
RS200 - 141 kph
R15 - 130 kph
P220F - 134 kph
The Bajaj claimed 0-100 for NS was 9.8, and while for Duke 200 it was 9.2 sec. However the numbers will have some fine changes based on the present day wind, rider weight, fuel quantity, etc. This is very important because when you through millisec (sub second), even 1Kg weight matters. The reason for NS being quicker is it's weight reduction with power kicking in early and the reason for RS being faster is it's full-fairing assembly plus the increased in max power and torque curve.
So if you see 153 kph on RS200, it's actually doing 142 kph only, because of speedo error. Same goes for AS200. One cannot go beyond the specified top speed without some help from wind + downward slope.
Please note, the numbers will vary based on devices they use and the condition of the unit under test.

sometimes we have to come out of these number games. Looking at the power figures and RPM graph, the peak power and torque kicks in very early than our NS or AS. This indicates the low and mid will be pretty good. Remember, it generates as much torque as NS, but it lacks power and gear 6 which is a big let down. So the top end will be compromised. The 0-100 comes about 11.2 (claimed), which is as same as P220. This doesn't look bad, but anyway new gen Pulsar can't be beaten with Apache 200 performance. But you may have to appreciate the build quality of TVS. I hope you sure doOriginally posted by xplod566 View PostOK bro.thanks.

Agreed. The power comes in lower down the RPM range. An interesting fact is the 0-60 km/hr time of 3.9s i believe!
The lack of 6th gear really gives in to the fact that the RTR 200 is a bored out RTR 180.... using the same gearbox, but now with an additional oil cooler.
But nothing can match our AS in terms of sheer looks and VFM!

so I went to a shop (reddy auto parts) and found two exhausts which are quite famous

Leo Vince

akraprovic

my question is which of these is better and will they make any issues with the bike??
Hey Sankha! what did you decide on your exhaust? Did you inquire from the SVC whether an exhaust mod will void your warranty?
The quoted price was 15k for both? Even the Akrapovic one? Online prices for them are sky high dude! Are you sure these are originals?
15k looks like a delicious price to get the exhausts! i'm sure they'll totally transform the look of our bikes!Last edited by VaruaG; 01-22-2016, 01:17 PM.

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
The engine is a bored out and the gearbox looks similar. Let's wait for some exclusive review followed by TD. Of course, AS200 is an unbeatable quicker machine n 200cc space except for Duke 200, as always.Originally posted by VaruaG View PostAgreed. The power comes in lower down the RPM range. after market exhausts can alter some changes and the tuning may be required, otherwise you may feel like sucked in or bad FE.

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Strange noise has started to come from front wheel recently whenever the bike's in motion. Even if it's on normally or when I turn it off and just drag. The tempo of the noise keeps increasing with speed. Reduces on low speed and increases as speed increases. Any idea what could be the problem?
