Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Hey I dont know about the exact quote but just to give a vague idea. I sold off my old bajaj platina in utter pradesh bearing chandigarh registration and the agent charged the buyer 3000 for getting it transferred which includes the road tax as well as his commission . The road tax is calculated on the actul value of the bike which was about 34000 when i bought in 2007. So you paying road tax plus commission on a one lakh bike under 3000 seems pretty nominal to me. That's just my thought. Anyone with proper info and rates of road tax please do shed some light on this.Originally posted by Demonizah View Post

To handle NOC-related work, an agent is quoting Rs. 2800. He said he'll courier the stuff (including the original RC that I have to hand over) to my Bangalore address.
Is this the regular amount that is charged?
I suppose I'll have to pay life-time road tax in Bangalore again?
Is there a dedicated thread for this stuff as well?
Hi Demonizah,
If you don't want to get thorough the RTO hassles than the amount looks fine to me. I transferred my FZ16 to Bangalore in 2010. At that time, I paid 2k to agent for NOC in Assam.
However, the catch is the tax you need to pay once you come to Bangalore. Considering Pulsar AS/NS 200 will be around 10k and getting a number (if you want) another 2k as BLR taxes are very high. So give it a thought before transferring the bike.
Also, please mention the RTO you are going to transfer here in Bangalore (Jayanagar RTO, Indranagar RTO, KR Puram RTO) depending on the area you stay or you convenience. Just mentioning Bangalore in your NOC while issuing while create inconvenience.
All the best !!

Oh I see!
I didn't know about mentioning specifics! The area I'm going to will be around HSR layout - so will find relevant RTO.
The agent's quote is only for NOC procedure and having it couriered to me (as I need to leave coming week). So not inclusive of road tax or anything else
The bike is only a few months old - bought in October.
I guess I'm gonna have to shell out 10k+ when I get there
Appreciate the info, guys. No other warning flags you see, right? Will go ahead with it today I guess.

Hi, HSR Layout would come under Electronic City RTO (KA 51 registration). Pay the road tax only if, you are going to stay in Karnataka for long term(>2 years), else it may not be worth it. I used my Hyderabad registered vehicle for about an year, without NOC and road tax.( Shame on me for doing that to govt.Originally posted by Demonizah View PostOh I see!

). But, i know of people who skipped paying road tax or taking NOC, including 4-wheelers for years together. And they rarely get caught. As long as your driving in peak traffic hours, chances of getting caught are seldom. Only be careful during Friday nights and weekends.
But be careful, make sure no offense is commited by/to your bike. Eg. Vehicle getting stolen(rare case), wrong parking etc. Then its better to have paid road tax.

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Regarding improper idle., Is it like 1.5 K when the engine is cold and 2.6 K when the engine is hot? Then it is normal. As the engine gets hot idle RPM will increase.Originally posted by samsylvestertty View PostHi All,
I bought the AS 200 two weeks before and have been riding this bike for a week. I had followed the "Limiting the RPM" advice from forums and from the guide till day before yesterday. But for some reasons, I had to take the RPM between 6-7K RPM for the last two days. I had to travel 24 KM to office. So, I had broken the revving limitation for around ~ 95 KMs. Does this have any negative impact on the bike? Can I continue to ride below 49 KMPH?
Secondly, I got my rear disc locked twice. And without knowing( I experience airlock for the first time. So I didn't know that rear disc was locked ), I had ridden the bike to around 2 KMS .
I also experience some more problems.
1. Feeling of fuel getting blocked.
2. Humming sound during "slowing down" after reaching higher RPMs
3. Improper Idling ( 1.5K sometimes and near 2.6K sometimes )
As I am nearing my first service ( now am at 470 KM ), can you please advice whether to check anything regarding the above problems.
Forgive me, I could not describe some problems with their actual technical terms.
THANKS A LOT IN ADVANCE.

samsylvestertty - 2.6 for a warmed up engine is way too high as an idle rpm. It should not go beyond 1.5 to 1.6 k and about 1.35 k ona cold engineOriginally posted by Nidin View PostRegarding improper idle., Is it like 1.5 K when the engine is cold and 2.6 K when the engine is hot? A lean mix will make engine hotter and will have rpm a bit higher.... Adjust your idling when engine is hot.... Use choke at cold startOriginally posted by Nidin View PostRegarding improper idle., Is it like 1.5 K when the engine is cold and 2.6 K when the engine is hot? Then it is normal. Clutch play is the free-play you feel before you depress the clutch lever. The movement where the lever seems loose before you feel the friction when clutch disengages.Originally posted by vrkoppula View PostWhat is the clutch play I should keep? SVC guys told me to keep the clutch tight without any play is It correct?
SVC guys are idiots, the noobs mostly. There always has to be suffient clutch play. Having clutch play is important for you to know for sure that the clutch has fully engaged or disengaged. Same goes for brakes(not as much as the clutch though). 5-8mm play at lever-end is enough.Last edited by Rohit Raja; 02-08-2016, 01:39 AM.
