Hello Guys,

been alomst 45 days since I got my as200 blue!!! I have a few questions though, so far I have done 2 oil changes 1st at 500 kms and 2nd at 2000 kms! The bike has clocked 2300 kms so far and is fitted with eurogrips! I have a long set of mods that I plan to do and I am from south mumbai. Would love to get all the help I can from the experienced souls here!!! Please advise if the below mentioned mods are sensible or not!

1) HID Kit Installation (will in impaact the electronics in a negative way and what kits can be considered) Also considering 2 extra lamps for highway rides and a secondary horn!
2) K&N Air Filter ( is there any real performance gain and what jets shall I use)
3) Racing CDI and sprockets ( Heard a lot about these in columbia and phillipines so can they be sourced in india and is there a real performance gain!
4) adjustable cluth and front brake levers (which ones are the best)
5) tyres ( which are the best for all conditions

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Thank you

Hey Sankha! what did you decide on your exhaust? Did you inquire from the SVC whether an exhaust mod will void your warranty?

The quoted price was 15k for both? Even the Akrapovic one? Online prices for them are sky high dude! Are you sure these are originals?
15k looks like a delicious price to get the exhausts! i'm sure they'll totally transform the look of our bikes!
I personally like to install akrapovic but warranty may be at risk and regarding the price i went to wellington kolkata which is famous for all bikes stuff starting from stickers to mods...went to mk enterprises they confirmed me that akraprovic and leovince will cost around 15 to 18 (low model ) but akraprovic made of carbon fibre and other material cost More than 25 installation charges excluding.. and I found these also
alpinestar jacket without crocodile pad 10k - 8k.. ls2 helmet top model 8k ,and many more

The lack of 6th gear really gives in to the fact that the RTR 200 is a bored out RTR 180.... using the same gearbox, but now with an additional oil cooler.

But nothing can match our AS in terms of sheer looks and VFM!

Good to know mate...I'm in Kolkata for this week... would check out wellington for sure!

As for the exhaust, i'm guessing it will void the warranty. So we can think about after maybe a year of ownership.

If anybody has problems with the rear brake lever like I did then there is a simple diy for that which I did today. The position of the brake is as such that on my 1100km run I had severe pain in the ankle as I had to bend it a little too much. So tried putting the brake lever down but that was not enough and it left the rear brakes on permanently. So instead I have increased the height of the foot peg.
Got a rubber foot peg from local auto parts store for Rs 20 and a small length of stainless steel wire. You can use any other flexible wire but it should not rust.

I tried squeezing it over the foot peg but the rubber was too brittle and it cracked so i cut it in half and did this.

You will need a plier to work on the wires. Just wrap then with wire and twist them on the bottom and cut of the extra and fold it so that its not visible.
It does not ruin the asthetics if done neatly and the brake lights work ok

Make sure the wires are tight enough not to allow the movement of the rubber chunk and not too tight as well or else it will deform the rubber piece and even cut through.

Awesome mod....Recently while returning home on an specially dark night, I realised that I had been riding in such a way that my Rear brake lights were always ON!
This is pretty dangerous! The lever position is so awkward and it amazes me that even after so many complaints Bajaj refuses to fix this from the factory. jbm_guy, how did you solve this problem? Is there a way to lower the lever and not actuate the rear brake light? Any suggestions would be helpful!

I dont think doing it with the gear shifter would be necesary as it does not give any troubles. And i have a habit of keeping my toes below the shifter so I have plenty of room to move.

Did anyone install an HID on our bike?

And a suggestion for all, use Motul 300v engine oil, its awesome, engine and gears are buttery smooth, pick is smooth, you can just zip through traffic
