Your problem is spark plug gap.it seems to be too less. Open all spark plugs, manually check the gap using feeler gauge and set it to manufactures recommended level. Then check difference.

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
1. One thing that has been bothering me though is an audible engine vibration at near 6000 RPM. I understand that every engine will have resonances at certain frequencies. Mine happens to be near 6000 RPM, but I'm just wondering if others have also had this experience and/or if it can go away on its own or by tightening something.
2. The tachometer needle vibrates at 9000 to 9500rpm. Is there any problem inside the engine due to which the needle vibrates.
My AS 200 has crossed 10000 kms. I change engine oil at every 3000 kms (bajaj oil). My tappet clearance was adjusted at 6000 kms due to vibration issue.

Mine starts vibing after 4.5k and goes till 6k. after 6k it goes smoother as it climbs higher in the rev range.
Why did you adjust your tappet clearance at 6k? Could you heard the audible "Sewing machine" tick tick? how long did it take? charges?
Hope the vibes are better now!

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Tappet clearance was adjusted because of too much vibration that was coming from 3000k rpm onwards. Even the vibes on handlebars were noticeable. Couldn't see anything on mirrors. And there was sudden power loss when above 6000 rpm and bike didn't pick up and vibes got increased as well.Originally posted by VaruaG View PostMine starts vibing after 4.5k and goes till 6k. after 6k it goes smoother as it climbs higher in the rev range.

Tracing the Tappet noise is difficult as the engine always makes some kind of ticking noise.

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Hello Guys,
Remember I mentioned that I am giving my bike for 2nd Service? Well got it back today after 2 days. What I asked them to do is standard as per service schedule and I added what I was advised by some of the experienced riders here.
1. AFR setting.
2. Con nut checking and change if necessary.
3. Tappet Clearance because of noticeable engine noise and vibration.
4. Drive chain slack, cleaning, adjusting and lubricating.
5. Air Filter cleaning.
6. Bleeding the rear break and overhauling the front as it was getting stuck.
7. Clutch adjustments and adjusting the carburetor since it was on lean.
8. Lowbeam lowered.
The first thing I noticed is that the mechanic had screwed up the rpm, afr and carb settings and the bike did not start till three ignition and was idle at .9 rpm. The engine stalled once I squeezed the accelerator. Screwed their happiness and gave them a lesson or two on adjusting. This guy and the supervisors were novice and had no idea about AS, NS settings. Luckily a senior and experienced mechanic was listening and came in to assist and boy did he set the AFR, Carb, Clutch. I had no idea that the carb can only be set with clutch deployed. The engine is flying and smooth. No alien sound.
Brakes had no feedback. Had them worked on again.
Clutch had lot of play. Got it adjusted.
The handle vibes were gone and no more noise as it hit a pot hole, though the bike sways left when I leave the handlebars.
Gears are still making click click noise.
Chain sound is like it makes for the new bike.
Lowbeam works wonders now, bright and clear.
The mechanic who adjusted the carb told me to open the throttle once I get the chance on the road and check if the rpm shoots past 2k on idle, if it does, tighten the screw on the right till it points at 1.5k and I did so.
I am planning to drain the engine oil and use Motul 5100 by the local mechanic as it is the ideal time. What do you guys suggest? Oh yeah one more thing, I hit 143 mark today and boy was that a good feeling! Had more confidence today on the beast then I ever had.
Open for suggestions guys. Safe Riding!

Sounds great, Hunterkol. Which SVC was this? Do you have the name of the senior mechanic?Originally posted by Hunterkol View PostThe engine is flying and smooth. No alien sound.

I just got my fourth servicing done, and the bike is running as badly as ever.
1. Annoying vibes and rough engine note (even after tappet clearance adjustment). I've been running on Motul 5100 for a while now; drain interval around 3,000 km.
2. The front end feels completely unwieldy and the ride quality is spine-shattering on even mildly rough roads. Fork oil was changed, and the SVC guys checked both wheel bearings and the cone set. The bike is following its own chosen path, not mine.
3. Brakes were adjusted but still feel underwhelming and scary.Last edited by deebee; 08-04-2016, 11:40 AM.

Hunterkol... Wish I had those kind of service centres. I just cant understand why they don't want to check and adjust setting likes the tappets and AFR ratio. They just wait till damage has been done. It took me 3 days visit and persuasion to adjust my tappets which was at wrong setting.

Deebee bro, it is Rolta Keshtopur, ask for Mr. Singh the Service Advisor, tell him Harshvardhan from VW asked to speak to you. Give them time and don't hurry on delivery.Originally posted by deebee View PostSounds great, Hunterkol. Which SVC was this? Do you have the name of the senior mechanic?

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Sadly i don't think so, sure it a VFM bike but if you are considering refinement/quality/trouble free bike you will be disappointed with AS200. To make things even worse Bajaj service centres are worthless pile of shits.Originally posted by Omkard View PostHow's the AS200 guys ? Is it worth than Apache 200 ?
