  • Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences

Got back my bike after repairs. Total cost came out to be 2311INR including taxes and labor charges.
Here's a breakdown of the costs.
Side fairing(one with the 'Adventure Sport' sticker) 510.
Side mask(one near the headlamp) 216
    Leg guard 110
    Indicator assembly 143
    Bolts and sockets 11
Waxing/Polishing (they said it would remove minor scratches on the tank which it didn't ) 260.
    Plus VAT, ST and Cess

This is just for reference, in case anybody else finds the need to replace the fairing.

    Regards,
    Kevin

Does anyone know any BAJAJ showroom where as200 is available for a test ride. ?
Been sitting on the fence for a while.
Choosing between apache 200 and as200, is way more difficult than it should be without having riden main competitor.
Took a test ride of apache, bike is superb. Now pulsar as200 does offer lot more power, better headlights, quarter fairing.
BUT the problems being reported here are seriously putting me off.

BTW I live in vashi, and if you happen to know ANY showroom anywhere in Mumbai having a demo AS200 available for a test ride.
          Please PM me.

The production of AS200 has been discontinued and there is a rumour of the NS being relaunched with some upgrades. As of now the Apache 200 is a better package but if you can wait, maybe you can lay your hands on the new NS

Production might have stopped but bikes are still available since AS200 never burned the sales chart. Maybe they are going to relaunch both NS and AS with FI.
Apache is a well rounded product superb handling, niggle free (maybe too early to say that but still).
But don't want to invest that much money without exploring all the options.
And can't wait much longer since already sold off my Unicorn (stupid mistake i suppose)
Even took a test ride for gixxer ( wanted to test gixxer sf)
Apache has already won me over, but I intend to do touring as much I can.
So projector lamps and quarter fairing has my brain fixed on AS200.

If you are intended to touring then go for AS200. It's fairing does help on highway rides. And yes it's headlights also helps you while riding in unknown dark on bad roads.

                  Hello Brothers,
Had a bad day yesterday, had an accident returning home. Blessed me God that I survived it with just sprains on the shoulder, arms and hurt on right hand thumb. Babes took the rest, was in the bus lane on a busy evening rush hour, saw a Bus way too close to my tail and it was coming in fast, trying to give way, the front tire climbed the plastic lane separators as I took to the right and spat!! Tyres lost grip and I went topsy. Footpegs, rear break lever, front brake lever, misaligned front, indicator, leg guard. Cosmetic damages primarily but, I am guessing the front forks have taken the beating. Have dropped it to SVC, the regular genius has told me to give him a day to assess. Let's hope she comes out of it glittery. Pain on the nape, shoulder, arms and thumb is terrible but surely feel like stupid. Could have been careful. Be safe guys, it's better to be careful then being sorry.
                  Waiting for her return.

Sorry to hear about that. Glad that you're safe though! BTW, how did you infer that the forks were misaligned? Ever since I crashed my bike, I've been really paranoid and I keep wondering to myself if the forks have been damaged, consequently, limiting my speed to 40 even out on the open highways. I asked the SVC guy to check and he gave a cursory glance and said it's fine. I'm not convinced though. Any tell tale signs that would help in determining the same?

Thank you for your concern Kevin, it means a lot. Regarding the forks, well the only way i was able to acknowledge is the the front should swing and balance on braking normally, without any signs of imbalance and abnormal sound. Front handling will feel out of place and a leak maybe visible, handling becomes wobbly. Just keep the bike on double stand and take good look from the front keeping the handles straight. If you want to be sure try this if you can, at a tyre repairing shop. By sliding the axle nut between the holes of the forks and wheel. You will feel the axle nut will take efforts to go through the fork screw and the wheel if it is bent otherwise it will pass it relentlessly.

Guys a very well maintained feb 16 AS200 run 4600 KM is offer for 74K.
Would it be a good idea to go for it. .?
Does changing ownership really Void warranty. ?
If it does then I don't have to bother going to Bajaj asc for servicing I guess.
                        Please give reply.
I would be finalising the deal tomorrow evening.

But life and limb are more important, it can't be fixed.

Please ensure that there are no pending violations on the vehicle, the loan on it is cleared. The warranty does not voids on change of ownership.

I copied this from a pulsar 150 manual I found online.
If anyone can confirm if indeed warranty won't be void with change of ownership or otherwise, please help.[/QUOTE]

While BAJAJ customer care girl said warranty will be carry forward regardless.
                            I am very confused here

This is shocking to me and really informative. I never thought about it. I presumed just like electronics change of ownership doesn't bothers warranty.
Can anyone explain me a logical reason why so? Why does change of ownership voids warranty.!!
