Okay. Here's something weird happening with the my AS 200 that I would like to share and if possible hope to find a solution from you guys.

I take my bike to work and back everyday. Approx 15 kms up and 15 kms down. Today it was raining super heavily while I was on my way to office. After parking my bike in the parking space (the area is covered from top) I went to work. In evening while starting my bike, I noticed that the timer started blinking on its own (the 2 dots) also mode was changed from odo to trip and it showed some random number, 231km something. My odo is actually around 8754km. I thought someone must have messed with it. But as far as I know, without using the key, the console won't turn on.

Anyway, I reached home. Parked bike, turned off. Again turned on to see. Again timer started blinking. I tried to set it using M and S. Also tried changing mode to odo using M and S as is written in manual. I was following exact same steps but nothing was helping.

Has my console died or dying or is it something else? Also after parking in y building when I restarted it, the rpm went to 2 then 2.5 on idle which is strange.

Could be loose connection due to corrosion(damp surrounding) or water in wire sockets. Allow the bike to dry and check the symptoms. Else get the connectors in display checked and cleaned.

I have faced some issues with console like turning off on its own while riding. During my 2nd service I told the issue to service center mechanic. He is well experienced. He checked the wiring and connections but nothing was faulty but said it may be due to some loose connections. After that never faced any such issue. Everything is working fine for me.

I had the same issues as well - the console used to turn on and off while riding, with the rpm fluctuating all over the place. Turned out to be a loose connection with the wiring. Cost me quite a lot to fix at the SVC (labour), in spite of this being a warranty issue, I'd say.

Hey... If you intend to keep the bike in storage.. You anyways will have to do the repairs and stuff after two years.. As the engine oil will dry.. Bike will catch Dust and rust.. Battery will eventually drain if not used for a long time.. Even if you keep it in shade totally covered..

If you wish not to upgrade in coming years then i would suggest to keep it... Or else sell it as of now... And Buy the latest version of Bajaj or any 200+ cc bike.. There will be lot of changes and new options available in the market after 2 years..

              Cheers 🍻

Guys this is the first rainy season for my bike. The bike is 7 months old and there is plenty of warranty left. My bikes bend pipe is already showing patches of rust and the clamps as well. Is this issue covered under warranty? Could I get these parts replaced by the svc? If not what preventive measures could I possibly take to prevent rust. I keep the bike as clean as possible. Its disappointing to see rusting so soon on a new bike. I cant possibly imagine it would become a huge pile of rust if I intend to keep it for lets say next 4 years or so.

Its not rust ,if u r saying about silencer pipe. It turns red due to water splashes on it when its hot , its not rust. If possible show some images. So we can identify it correctly

Its not really clear in the pics. Need to zoom a bit to see. Igonore the rusted metal strip. I installed a ktm belly pan. Will spray a can of black paint to cover that up. But there are tiny spots on the pipe which look like rust. Its mire prominent on the inside of the pipe which is inaccessible to camera.
Found some heat resistant spray paint on amazon. If all else fails will give the exhaust a coat of that. Also talked to the local hundai dealer who does rust coating on cars. He agreed on doing a little tratment on the underbelly and the swingarm of bike if required.

Hey everyone. I'm from Hyderabad and new to this forum. I'm looking to buy AS 200 now. But there is no availability of this bike in any of the showrooms here.
I have checked with all Bajaj dealers in Hyderabad. But they are unable to promise me if they can supply this bike and are trying to convince me for AS 150.
I know Bajaj has stopped production of NS 200 to boost the sales of AS 200 . But this is awkward now. We don't get both NS and AS.. Does anyone have any idea if Bajaj has stopped supplying AS 200 as well?

There is Apache RTR 200 4V launched in the market to compete with Pulsars in 200 cc range, but I prefer Pulsars over Apache.

I also enquired about the new lot , but showroom persons r saying bajaj has stopped the production so choose from the 2015 lot .
Can anyone else confirm this ?

Thanks for the advice mate. It is really painful to let it go, since i've cared so much for my machine. But emotions aside, selling it would be the logical choice.

What! Already? Its hardly been a year since AS was launched! Why is Bajaj doing this just when its greatest threat, Apache 200v is in the market?

U have to focus on the white ceramic portion which covers the electrode . From pic it looks full white. Which denotes lean mixture.
