AFAIK Mixing two different oils shouldn't be done. Get your bike to the Service centre and top up the oil. Change to Full synthetic alteast after 5000Kms on the ODO. I changed to Motul 7100 20W50 after second service (5500 on the ODO).

It's nearly impossible to reach above 6K RPM in city as the bike will be @85KMph in 6th gear. You can ride all the way upto the 9.5K RPM and beyond when the RPM Limit light starts blinking
In my case I reached 90Kmph in the second day itself

If you wish for a smoother shifts with softer ride, 5100 suits well. 7100 gives a crunchy acceleration and can let the engine remain harsh. This is as per most of the NS-Motul owners experience. I'm using 5100, don't feel lot of improvement over Bajaj, but okay, good to have a good brand engine oil. But as I said, after Motul change, you may or may not get improvement. In fact I felt a bit harshness at first compared to Bajaj oil. Later it felt all the same. I'm planning to keep a drain interval of 3000 kms. Now on hard ripping (mostly shifting above 7-8K rpm and hitting rev max at many times in city, the mileage comes close to 31-32 only(10 liters = 315 km). After changing to Motul, I hope the mileage has dropped a bit. On casual riding, I get 35-36. But with Bajaj oil back there I was getting ~39-42. But even if my driving habits have changed a bit, still 36 is way too less compared with 40.Last edited by jbm_guy; 11-02-2015, 01:06 PM.

Try to change oil filter too when you do. My svc guy refused as the oil filter bolts/screw sets will soon give up on frequent removing which will result in a major overhaul. But oil filter must be changed esp when you change to some new brand. Also try to clean the engine. SVC guys do that. Hi guys.
New here. Just got my 200AS 10 days ago and running in currently.
I'm late to the biking world so not a very experienced rider.
Hoping to go through this entire thread to gain wisdom, and perhaps contribute some.
So far, trying to be careful, but a few slip ups caused me to spike the revs to 6-8k rpm twice, just for a second or so. Hope it won't hurt the bike too badly.
Otherwise, trying to keep it under 4k rpm.

I was just wondering something.
So I was just planning to get both my lights switched on when selecting the higher beam button and not the pass button.
Definitely I won't use it in cities but with both the lights on on highways it would be am ultimate tourer at nights.
My question is whether it might fry or finish the battery soon or battery life would be bad.any problems it might cause in wiring ?

Stock H7 bulbs are of 55watts, 55x2=110watts - so yes, the battery will drain in no time.Originally posted by xplod566 View PostI was just wondering something.

You can however use HIDs (35watts each). There was a DIY on xbhp by a member named rahuldevnath, he had done this mod on P220 - to get dual headlights in P220.It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider's nuts, the ride - bolts!

Well said [MENTION=66628]Sal[/MENTION], you spoke my mind. Yes you can do it. Actually low beam uses 55w and high beam takes 60W. So to be precise, letting both will lead to a peak sum of 115WAh and given your battery rating of ~90WAh, you might drain your battery almost zero if you forgetfully let the lights glow for few just minutes. The console and backlight takes so much power, that's why in earlier version of NS (2012), the console lights won't even turn on unless you turn the engine on. You got me?. In NS forums, long back you can read some people saying that letting alone the console backlight and display for ~20 minutes (with mods, because default setup won't let you do), ate up the entire battery from 100%-0% in that time
, so that's why Bajaj disabled that. However that is bad, should I have to start the engine to even check time or odo reading?. This is one reason which we have to give it a think. However later versions, they have changed this. Today, you can light the console backlight with engine turned off (But headlamps still wont glow). But if you fix a HID or LED (Like I did), you can let the headlamps glow with engine turned off. This is safe too, as HIDs and LEDs take very less power compared to Halogen.
Even if you don't, the battery takes more riding hours to get fully charged and in your case, you might never reach a full charge at all, that's sad and bad right?. As [MENTION=66628]Sal[/MENTION] said, go for HIDs if you prefer more lumens per watt. They are the best as per today tech. LED projectors are next to them, but very battery friendly, but gets red hot very soon. Every time when I switch off the engine with head lights on, I hear the fan running at high speed inside headlamp

Actually I went to fit a HID and came back with an LED without knowing the differences when buying
. For now, you can safely play with pass switch to light both of them
