Am already on 7100 broOriginally posted by jbm_guy View PostBasically there's not a hell of difference before and after 5100. I still feel my NS loves Bajaj crap oil only
, though have a feeling that I'm in a safer hands. As many NS owners suggested, 7100 shall give crunchy acceleration and redline performance. But again, many NS owners suggested Motul 5100 to be a lot smoother, but it rather failed in my case
. So, better I'd leave it to you. Try it and find it, as every single engine has unique characteristics. You may try 7100, as you are almost 7K KMs. If you feel it better, keep it running. By the way. I might return back to Bajaj.
From 5000Kms on the ODO. May be Next time i'll try 5100

But you could save some cash using Bajaj oil
. 7100 costs around 840RS for 1.2L

Have you ridden the Duke200?. Whenever I hear urgency, I remember Duke 200 only. Even my NS is agile, launches like a missile, I somehow feel the short geared Duke puts even a big smile in city rides. But that's the end of fun, take him long on open roads and he will bore you soon enough and the smile goes down at high speeds. NS and AS on contrary have been designed by Bajaj such as way that it should be usable to customers for city as well as highway. The long geared AS200 will put a smile when you take her on a long ride. Not to mention the good riding position and the seats, which are better than Duke. AS200 is a practical machine for everybody, even a newbie.Originally posted by Tejas Jha View Posthey guys.... [emoji4]
I noticed is the urgency she shows to catch speed almost begging to be revved harrdddd... this was not the case when I finised my run-in phase.. any one else having the same experience or is it just my love for the bike speaking???
To extract more fun, try shifting >7-8K RPM where you can extract the max torque figure. You'll never be out of juice
, but ride safe. Change to good brand oils and those poor tires, it could enhance your fun and safety even to next levels.

Warning off-topic: While AS200 is a wonderful bike no doubt, we are seeing more and more testing on Apache 200 on roads, which looks very promising with Dual channel ABS, Michelin tires, expected 25 bhp power mill. It is expected to hit by this year end or January. I'd strongly advice you to look for ABS model bikes, as from 2018 onward, all motorbike companies have been issued to provide ABS as mandatory to all models above 150cc by Indian gov.Originally posted by vvk1999 View PostMay be, AS200 will be my next bike .currently i have pulsar 220
.which r the things i m going to gain & loose ?
(A friendly Advice)
From my experience P220 is very old by now and needs retiring. AS200 is the perfect machine that Bajaj released to replace P220. Initially NS was expected (By all media and motorbike enthusiasts) to do that job, but NS failed to bring more sales for Bajaj in 3 years time, mainly because of the naming misconception that P220 has "20cc" extra
. I curse Bajaj, either they should've stopped tagging Pulsar and could've used some good naming.
So finally Bajaj came out with a proper P220 replacement called "AS200", though the name adventure confused many of us to ask questions, "does Bajaj even know what is an adventure bike?". Well, still no matter how many months it's been since AS200 and RS200 have been out in market, still P220 sales come up around 8K units every month
, can you believe that? (Source: Motorbeam). Finally even today P220 still is an undisputed champ maybe not in performance, but in sales and on peoples mind
...!!!

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
done my first servicing today.. engine got smooth gradually..
gear shifting was also..butter smooth..i could feel the new thrust of my bike.. i can feel vibs creeping from the rear when i was decelerating..
i thought to go for higher rpm bands so pushed my bike till 7000 rpm.. and it reached 126kmph without any problems.. so by calculating theoretically what shoul be its top speed??
