And guys I know there is not much choice of colors with AS but still I am in a dilemma which color to go for. Red is too bright and not metallic and I am worried it will fade away in a few years and the bike will look ugly. Black is definitely high maintenance and it looses its shine too fast if not taken care of properly. So then its blue I guess although it looks too subtle ??? Any opinions?

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Would you please give me the name of the shop as well. Also what if I swapped rear tyres with some thicker ones would that be a problem with the mud guard, or handling maybe.Originally posted by guptavis View Post

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Go for red or black.. I've seen many blue ones on the road and the colour seems to lose its shine after a few months.. (Saying this because my earlier bike was a blue p180 and it never lost any of its charm for 6 years, whereas AS200 on road is nowhere near to that bright blue) Looks very dull... I've a black one and it's pretty cool 😎Originally posted by Anubhav M View PostPlease help me decide which color to prefer that would be keep its looks in the long run....thanks...

On draining the oil, it was pitch black! The mechanic was surprised himself!
Next oil change at 2nd Service

Is it really possible to end up adversely affect the bike if you baby it during the run-in period?
I've been very careful with my bike in the 600kms so far, not exceeding 4k rpms, and mostly staying under 55kmph (never gone above 60 so far).
PS: At 600kms, should I still stay under 4k rpms?
Gearing is so short... and engine sounds stressed at 4k rpms on all gears...

Even me.. Its so damn frustrating.. I have never exceeded 50!! All cars and bikes zip across you and you're like some saint riding at 48 kmph!! Btw.. I've finished 800 kmsOriginally posted by Demonizah View Post

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
I agree all the issues you face with your new bike AS200 I too had the same bike in black colour bought 3 weeks ago had the same issue rpm keep raising at 2.5k and above after a short ride. And had the same problem with the gear lever and rear brake lever. And other thing to add up is that my bike keep dragging towards left hand side and hard to keep steady pace in a straight line. Don't know whether the manual clutch is engaged or not will have to check today and my bike gives hiccups during higher rpm I think there may be a conflict in AFR Optimal setting.Do you have any idea to fix this issue. It will be very useful for me And one more thing to add up is that SVC guy didn't accepting my claim of changing oil at early kms.And how about switching to Motul SS After first service does it void warranty.

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
You don't need to do too much babysitting. When you have stretch try slowly increasing your rpm higher in top gears. High rpm at low gear isn't good, bit say at sixth, you can try 5-6k rpm slowly which would take you 80-95khp. Do this slowly.... It's not wrong. Occasionally you can raise to 6-8k rpm on lower gears like two to three times in a day.Originally posted by Demonizah View Post

Remember, city speed limit is 30-40kph, kindly adhere to that...

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Swaying left is due to cone set issue in the steering stem. NS had such troubles.... It was common. Check with svc and force them the problem..... Follow run in properly, but occasionally don't fail to open throttle....Originally posted by Mohamed Naveeth View PostI agree all the issues you face with your new bike AS200 I too had the same bike in black colour bought 3 weeks ago had the same issue rpm keep raising at 2.5k and above after a short ride. And had the same problem with the gear lever and rear brake lever. And other thing to add up is that my bike keep dragging towards left hand side and hard to keep steady pace in a straight line. Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
I know that feeling. I can't say this for every bike out there, but the general consensus is that bikes run-in properly on open roads are smoother than bikes run-in in the city which involves constant braking, shifting and clutch dragging. Since most of us don't have the luxury to hit the highways whenever we want, we have to make do with what we have.Originally posted by Demonizah View Post

So i believe it is wise to give ur properly warmed up bike the beans once in a while. Increase RPM progressively from 4~ 5, 6, 7,8 K... But don't redline the beast just yet. Redlining can come in later after say 2000 kms. This will ensure that the piston rings can take the pressure of high rpm load and are not glazed by low rpm trudging.
Cheers!
Haha...true that bro! But as jbm_guy said, the city limits warrant slow speeds for safety. But once in a while do increase rpms above 4K too... You have bought a Pulsar, not a splendor after all! And the bike needs to be reminded that it is a performance motorcycle and not a mileage machine once in a while!Originally posted by vinodr View PostEven me.. Its so damn frustrating.. Can I claim replacement of the steering stem/cone-set under warranty? I have the left swaying problem too.
Also, was the rear disk rubbing/screeching issue common on the NS as well? Can replacement of brake-pads/calipers be claimed?

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Yes they should be. Because they are not caused due to accidents. But most of the SVC won't do replacement of disc brake calipers or associated units that easily. They will simply dilute or liquidate the process. So be strong in what you want from them. Tell them that the swaying problem and brake problem is severe and shoot a mail to Bajaj. First start with patience, later try to push them.Originally posted by VaruaG View Post

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Strangely, I live right on a national highway and am away from the main city. 80% of my riding is on the highways... which makes me look even sillier when I'm doing 50kph when everyone beside me is doing 90+kpm
I went to 5k rpms on 6th yesterday, taking it to 65kph for the first time. Just for a short overtaking burst.
So, guys... you mentioned that lower gears shouldn't be taken to higher rpms.
I'm mostly shifting at 4k rpms. At lower gears, the bike sounds stressed at 4k rpms, so I shift sooner sometimes.
So at this stage (if it matters) of < 1000 kms, what are ideal rpms to shift at for all gears? Can anyone help me understand this?
