Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Went for a test drive to my nearest showroom. Once i switched on, the exhaust emitted nice sound. I rode it for short 1-2 km in city and here's the findings according to me. The Pulsar is short geared and it easily reached 4-5k RPM with just a bit of throttle. I'm 5.6" tall and i've to lean forward a bit more than my liking in riding position. It felt underpowered @ 3-4k rpm and felt not much good in city riding and overtakes. However, once i took it past of 5k rpm and felt a surge in power and immediately i closed the throttle. Perhaps its good for highways more than City. One more thing is this bike is much more vibe free and refined than older Pulsar 150 which shows Indian engineering prowess. I saw Panel gaps but it hasn't irritated me at all. The fit and finish quality could've been improved but hey I'm not complaining. Now coming to our Indian mindset about bike " Kitni deti hai ? ", i've to get some inputs from you guys. From what i concur from past threads is that it gives 35-38 kpl , but at what speeds ? Riding below 50 doesn't make sense for this bike and i'll get 40+ kpl, but what if i ride constantly 80-90 kph for 30 kms stretch, how much fuel efficiency can i expect ? My Hunk gave around 41 kpl when ridden this hard and 49-51 kpl in 55-65 kph, Gixxer returns around 43+ at same speed, Unicorn 160 might get around same and Pulsar AS 200?? I'm also waiting for Hornet which will be released on 10th Dec and i'm having very hard time choosing between 3 bikes i intend to purchase next month. I need some input guys.

You can expect anywhere between 30 to 40 from the AS200.Originally posted by ashislakra1989 View PostWent for a test drive to my nearest showroom. Once i switched on, the exhaust emitted nice sound. On speeds of 80-90 usually you should get 38-40.
On 100+ will get around 35.
And on 120+ around 30.---

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Finally after so much thought took delivery of the red dragon..
And to my surprise got the bike with mrf tires. He had one piece left in his basement as he unpacked the bike I almost jumped to see mrfs on the bike. Saved a couple of thousand bucks and the headache to negotiate with tyre dealers for swapping tires.
Bike cost me 98000 approx including insurance and temporary number in Panchkula, Haryana. Rest will see how much more to pay as taxes in rto office.
Preparing the bike and myself for a 1100 km ride back to renuqoot which i hope should take 3 days.Last edited by Anubhav M; 12-07-2015, 03:56 AM.

my red beast is 4700km old with mix of all long drives, city rides, traffic signal start and stop rides. average i always got 40-42kmpl no matter hoe i use him.
fst some days i use to feel its under powered on low rpm but now as i m used to with him power delivery is constant over whole rev range.
stability is just perfect. only issue is rear break lever bit up else this beast is just perfect for both city highway and off road. tried and tested on all types of road

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
I keep the cloth inside the fairing. There are space between the fairing and the petrol tank. I'll try to click a pic and upload it here so its easier. P220 has a similar space as well.Originally posted by Demonizah View PostGuys, where do you keep your dusting cloth to clean the bike?
Under the rear seat?
Is that a safe place to put it? I notice there's the battery there and some electricals, would putting it there cause any suffocation/heating to any component?
I usually have it in my bag, but when I don't have my bag, it becomes a bother.
Guess the downshift problem is common in all AS200's. I am very much annoyed with it along with the fairing vibes. Am sort off getting used to the fairing noise, but the downshift problem is very irritating. Will see if the Bajaj SVC guys can fix it, else i might as well sell the bike and get something else.Originally posted by Demonizah View Post
Aside from that, the gear shift lever just feels sloppy when downshifting.. just slides down with no feedback. Upshifts are decent, as they have that 'click' feeling... but just not there in downshifting.
Any advice?
Congrats buddy! Even i had a similar exp with my bikes delivery. I was preparing to buy a set of MRF's or Michelin's, but saw a new Blue As200 with MRF's in their godown and i immediately grabbed it. Saved 5k atleastOriginally posted by Anubhav M View PostFinally after so much thought took delivery of the red dragon..

Congrats bro...ride safe. You could have asked them to swap tyres if they were there in other colored ones.Originally posted by hypergamer View PostWell I finally got my blue as200 with euroslips as they didnt have a blue MRF in stock. Got it yesterday and have clocked 10 kms so far

Yes please let us know how it turns up....
Problem while turning the bike seems to be solved but now fairing is making that Thudd noise on breakers and on ditched roads this is what SVC guys were telling me before loosing the fork bolt

The motorcycle overall is fantastic. Yes, there are minor issues but that's manageable, at least for me.
Gear shifting seems to be fine considering it's a 6 speeder. Eurogrip are not that bad as I initially thought but then I don't twist or turn that aggressively, it seems okay for now.
My one concern or rather something that has begun to bother me is the rattling of the fairing, especially the windshield around 4k or 5k rpm. It smoothens after I cross 6k, but I don't pull till 6k that much yet.
I did tighten the screws using allen keys. The rattling reduced for a while and again returned. That is plain annoying during riding, the music of the engine roaring gets almost muffled by the noise of the windshield rattling.
And yes, I think I too have the cone set problem. Due to which my right shoulder starts paining as I need to push the handle bar to right slightly to maintain balance. It's not too bad but nevertheless a problem right? Will ask the SVC guy about the same.
That's my personal experience so far
Hi! Are you sure it is the windshield vibrating? You can try out a trick. The moment the vibes kick in, try to dampen the vibes with your free hand (be careful!).
This way you can track which part/panel is actually causing the irritating vibes/noises. For me, it was the instrument console. I had to the entire panel opened and added rubber washers to the screws holding the instrumental console in place. Do try it out to actually pin-point your problem area!

I'm not sure if windshield or instrument console. It's somewhere there only I'm sure. Sound comes from there only.Originally posted by VaruaG View PostHi! Are you sure it is the windshield vibrating? Can you explain in detail what was the process you followed? And if you did it on your own or at SVC? Thanks a lot! [emoji4]

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Hello, I have been following this thread for nearly a month now.
Yesterday I finally got my Pulsar AS, came with eurogrip as they didn't have MRF is stock.
Very happy with the bike and already finished 100 kms.
Till now noticed a few problems(some are same as what other have told)
1> The bike sways to left when I take my hands of the handle bar.
2> The engine shuts down automatically, I think the idle rpm is low.
3> There is vibration coming from the digital console.
Any solutions to the problems would be greatly helpful, also please tell me how to perfectly run-in my engine and the intervals I have to change my engine oil.
Thank You.
