now the prob is is it fine to get FS at 5k

manual says AS200 need 1200ml of oil on servicing but motul coems in 1L pack is it fine to put only 1L engines oil or some other solution is their?
No issues shifting to FS as such. Depends on your usage and riding style.

You will need to buy two bottles of 1L and then use the other bottle for subsequent oil changes.
Pls do not mix any other oil with it.

First start with patience, later try to push them.
Quite true. The only thing they do is to clean/scrub the brake pads with sand paper a little. 5 mins on the road and the noise re-appears!
A mail to Bajaj customer care really proves handy! I would urge that we should use this tool effectively!

I went to 5k rpms on 6th yesterday, taking it to 65kph for the first time. Just for a short overtaking burst.

So, guys... you mentioned that lower gears shouldn't be taken to higher rpms.
I'm mostly shifting at 4k rpms. At lower gears, the bike sounds stressed at 4k rpms, so I shift sooner sometimes.
So at this stage (if it matters) of < 1000 kms, what are ideal rpms to shift at for all gears? Can anyone help me understand this?

There is none. Even if you shift at 5k, you wont harm the engine. The KTM Duke's short stroke motor (The base of the 200's engine) is designed to rev hard and high!
The low rpm limits are mentioned in the handbook to keep rowdy riders in check, who start redlining their bikes from day 1 and cause havoc to the engine/mechanicals, then cry at the SVC and social media stating Bajaj's poor "workmanship"! The bulk of the run-in is completed in the initial 200~500 kms. But, we should follow the run-in process till at least 1500 kms for peace of mind as well as 100% bedding of the piston rings, etc.

      Hope this helps.

Don't worry the oil won't get spoiled if you close the cap properly.

Can't help it if one really wants to take good care of the engines. [emoji28]

Guys I am buying the bike in two days but the number of issues you guys are reporting about the bike like swaying left and righ and gear issues is giving me second thoughts. Are these issues so serious that I should look for other options? Also what things do I need to inspect in the bike when taking the delivery like balance of the bike, electricals etc?

Also I don't want to nag you guys again and again but i am still confused between colors. The thing is I have not seen blue or red so I dont know which one is better as I work in a remote location in Renukoot with no bajaj showroom nearby. My parents will take the delivery of the bike in Chandigarh and when registration and smart number plate formalities are done in 15 days or so I will go there and bring it back here (1100km drive).
Blue looks great in videos and pictures I have seen on the internet but so is red. The only doubt is that red may fade away sooner and will look really awful I think when the shine goes away with washed out colors.

Any help would be really appreciated...
              Thanks

So after a lot of thoughts and what not monday am getting my blue AS200. But unfortunately MRF model is not available so am going with the euro grip one but am planning to roll her out and immeadeately change the tyres as it will get me good money for the euroslips or some money at least. So what make MRF shall I buy. Please suggest.

Also the run in I have planned is

below 4000 rpm for 1st 200 kms and oil change at 200 kms
200 to 500 will give short bursts upto 6000 rpm and second oil change at 500 kms
1000 to 2000 kms upto 6000 rpms with short bursts to 7500 rpm

                  Things to check upon delivery

                  oil/coolant level
                  scratches
                  engine idling
if theres anything else I shall look for please let me know

Bro i have bought the same bike 2 months back and rode it around 2.5 k, not facing any issue like swaying away or gear stiffness , talking about color - Its subjective !! its just you who should decide and i know its a big time headache to choose the color when you are confused Mine is black which shines amazingly and fluorescent green rim trips makes it perfect. So its your call. Don't think that much and just go for it .

These aren't very serious problem. They are plain right annoying ones. But the gear issue almost got me killed the other day. So have to be careful about it. Will have the SVC look at it again, i they cant fix it am gonna sell it and pick some other bike. I hate annoying problems, one of the main reasons why i sold my D200.

If you can live with this problem, then goahead. Else look at other options. As for the colour. if you want to play it safe, Black.....a little show off, then blue if you like loud colours then red!

Guys, where do you keep your dusting cloth to clean the bike?
                        Under the rear seat?
Is that a safe place to put it? I notice there's the battery there and some electricals, would putting it there cause any suffocation/heating to any component?
I usually have it in my bag, but when I don't have my bag, it becomes a bother.

I had the same question till the second servicing, then I asked SVC guy he told me like never keep the dusting cloth under d pillion seat, Air filter is just below and in between front and pillion seat and its opening is just there behind the tank it may get stuck in there!! and also there is battery and electricals it may cause problem if the dusting cloth is a bit wet . currently I keep it in my bag if you find some alternatives please let me know.

Just between the space near the engine.

So there is a unanimous opinion that the bike has a crapy gearbox...and with this kind if budget there is no other option in the market under one lakh.
