Oh.you should have never done that.

You engine is still is Run-in period. Crossing over 6-7rpm will put a huge stress to engine.
Also since you touched 142 that would mean you have pretty much redlined on every gear.that's the last thing you would want in the new bike .
Don't do the same for the next 800 kms

How often do you guys tighten the chain?
My bike has completed 2750 kms since purchase and I plan to visit the ASC to get my chain tightened and lubed.

Meanwhile, my cone set seems to have some issues... It makes a thud sound on hard braking. Need to get it inspected in 2nd service.
Also, I've purchased a couple of Motul 7100 FS bottles @ INR 665 each. Planning to use them up from the 2nd service. Bajaj DTSi oil seems to have given up after 2000 kms.

            Best mileage 42.67 kmpl
            Worst mileage 33.9 kmpl
Haven't checked acceleration figures. Top speed achieved as per the speedo was 146 kmph with a bit of juice left.

            Overall, happy with my purchase.

Its the fusion of a two wheeled machine & a human being which creates a true biker.

To reach 142 u will have to shift at around 8 to 9 k.also if u consider to reach 142 then u have To reach redline on 6th gear.
My point is did you follow the manual for the run in at all.you have pretty much harmed your engine and would advice you not to further shift at 7k for the next 800 kms.keep it at around 5-6k shifting

Nw bro.the reason isntill 2000 kms the engine should never be stressed.but after that you can rip coz this engine wants to be ripped.
I still get a mileage of 38 if I rip to the core.because I never passed 6k till 2000 rpm and my bike still touched 143 with a little juice left .so if u follow proper run in then you engine will always be healthy

Yes thats a good speed.Just keep it within 5K RPM irrespective of the speed till 2000 Kms and engine will be happy.

I have completed 7600 Kms but i ride very sedately.SOmewhere around 55-60 on bangalore city. But sometimes when i am in a mood to Rip i would go on the highway and would be shifting at around redline, but thats may be twice or thrice i have tried.Otherwise even on highways i would be around 80s.I have seen the new Pulsars ,doesnt matter how you drive gives kind of a consistent mileage.Like i get 38 , irrespective of my driving way,or even if i am stuck in traffic(Bangalore traffic is terrible) i get minimum 37

i think i am getting a good mileage..
reason may be i ride in campus which is traffic less most of the time...less use of clutch and brakes..
last time i calculated my economy it was 45.6 approx.. i knw its hard to belive.. but its true..
