Really scared of messing with the electrics, that's why not looking to upgrade the horns. I am ashamed of using the horn on roads as people find it funny when I blow the comic horn on such a big motorcycle but then again even liter class comes with similar horn, so no harm no foul.

Stay stock as long as possible, don't mess with electrics unless necessary. Its not only the wattage but the wiring and load on fuse too and other electrical items connected in the same phase as the horn which could lead to a disaster sooner or later.

I know the horn is puny, but leave it as it is , I have seen people who started with a simple bulb change and ended up changing this and that in the process to support the damn bulb.

You are right. In rain or water splash, we need to make sure it doesn't do any short. I was initially worried about that, but then on long rides you really need a loud sound to wake the guy sitting inside the car with AC on, windows closed, Music rocking, girl friend next to him and might he be dreaming . I don't thing waking him is an easier job. Also car drivers don't need more attention, but we sure do. Lights won't help at day time and you know what?, most of the people out there never know the purpose of pass light

In my case, I boldly did the mod, as I love dual-tone sound (of course waited till second service). Just made sure none of the terminals are exposed. With full faired bikes like RS, the fitment is not going to be that easy.

I almost forgot that...!!! You can't trust that on dry itself, how about in wet, oh God...!!!
I'd advice xplod566 and other AS owners who take it for long rides to change to good ones after third or fourth service. Metseler/Pirelli would be superb. For regular commuters, I think Euro should be fine.

The thing is Euro skids even on normal roads. I too feel that MRF zapper struggles in wet roads to keep up traction. But the euro on the TD bike really disappointed me. Then again numerous NS guys complained about Euro skid issue and some incidents, hence I insisted the dealer to get me MRF fitted tires only.

Anyway there is a trade-of for tires, they perform good either in wet or dry but not both. There are tires that perform decent with both, but then it wont excel better as the former. Best thing is to reduce the cruising speed to safe range on rain or wet conditions. Other option is to buy an ABS model

Yes but unfortunately our bike doesn't come with ABS.I am hoping with 2017 NS/AS ABS will be mandatory and then Bajaj will have to sjipnwith ABS.if I have the option to put it then I will definitely .
Btw in my last pulsar 180 the tyres were phenomenal. I loved the tyres.I think it was nylingrip or something.the dry road gripbwas excellent and so was the wet road grip.infact I would say its wet grip was exceptional.but these tyres suck which came with AS.I will have to change it may be on1st paid service.any idea where can I get the same set of tryres which came with P180 for AS!(Or do they even manufacture for AS)

Well, same does not fit. But nylo is from MRF only, there are many variants and I'm still getting to know which is best for our roads. Wait at least up to 20K Kms, then it's wise to change. Anyway 25K Km is the right age for tire upgrade. Top brands are metszeler, Pirelli, Michelin, Bridgstone etc. But don't know about their availability yet, esp Bridgestone.

I had my pulsar 180 dtsi battery stolen when it was just 3 months old, I installed a new battery along with a alarm system coz I was pissed.

After that my motorcycle had so many electrical issues I had push start it every week, this is how the alarm is installed :

1) Cut is made to connect it to battery

2) Cut is made to connect it to ignition

3) Cut is made to connect it to the Indicators front and back

Alarm is actually good safety feature but make sure you are prepared for the electrical issues it follows. One more thing if you ride daily for more than 40 km per day then any changes won't be of big issue as battery will get good charge, but battery life will take a hit.

Sourcing Bridgestone is a PITA. Michelin is available and performs well given our all round requirements.

Good info. But problem with Michelin is whether to go for pilot street or sport. This debate has been going over for long, and I still haven't got a satisfied answer.
